  • Patent number: 8770422
Abstract: An adapter plate for a container unit that can be coupled to at an additional container unit to form an intermodal container having the approximate dimensions of a standard ISO container. The intermodal container can be handled by a medium tactical vehicle with a load handling system. The container unit has first and second substantially parallel corner posts, an upper frame support extending between first ends of the corner posts, a lower frame support extending between second ends of the corner posts, and a connection block disposed adjacent the second ends of the corner posts. The adapter plate is disposed adjacent the connection block. A proximal end of the adapter plate is connected to the connection block and positioned generally flush with an outer facing surface of the connection block. A distal end of the adapter is angled to connect to an outer surface of the lower frame support.

  • Patent number: 8763836
Abstract: A container includes a sealing system coupled to an interior surface of the container's lid or cover. The sealing system includes a rotatable latch that, when rotated, cooperates with a number of gears to and a cam assembly formed in the lid to actuate a number of arms or links. In one embodiment, some of the arms extend approximately radially from a driven gear and operate to move an engagement member of the sealing assembly into contact with a complementary engagement member coupled to a base portion of the container. This engagement, in turn, compresses a seal or gasket located between the lid portion and the base portion of the container.

Abstract: The metallic sealed double container of the present invention includes an outer container, an inner container, an outer lid for the outer container, and an inner lid for the inner container, all of which being formed from thin metallic sheet. Connection holes are formed in the outer lid and the inner lid by burring, and both end parts of thin-walled pipes are respectively connected while inserted in the connection holes. The inner lid is joined to the inner container, and the outer lid is joined to the outer container, thereby constituting a metallic sealed double container in which the inner container is isolated in the outer container. As a result, the weight of the metallic sealed double container is reduced, the temperature in the inner container can be maintained over long periods of time, and the heat-insulating effect of the resulting sealed double container is high.

Abstract: The insulated water tank includes an outer tank and a plurality of inner tanks nested inside the outer tank. A gap between adjacent tanks defines an insulation barrier. Each insulation barrier can be formed by insulation material filling the gaps. One of the insulation barriers is an open air gap that permits air circulation around the adjacent inner tank. A fan is mounted and housed in a base at the bottom of the tanks to provide positive airflow for air circulation/cooling. A solar energy system is provided for supplying power to the fan. The plurality of inner tanks and the corresponding insulation barriers therefrom maintain water in the main central holding tank at moderate temperatures for comfortable consumption.

  • Patent number: 8727157
Abstract: A versatile, small-mouthed container is readily disassemblable and reassemblable to provide direct access to its internal cavity. Portions are mutually sealingly connectable by an annular coupling ring with two sets of threads, one each respectively to mate with threads on an upper and a lower cylindrical container portion. More than two cylindrical portions and more than one coupling ring can allow assemblage of larger containers and of containers of reconfigurable capacity. Some coupling rings provide for fluid communication between adjacent body portions and others provide a degree of blockage. Inserting or removing a partitioning disk into the ring can change a ring's degree of blockage. Various partitioning disks are provided with different degrees and types of blockage, when not deployed, the disks can be retained at the base of the container. Recessed latches prevent inadvertent opening at specific coupling interfaces.
