    Abstract: A bottle stopper mainly includes a body, a plug and a jacket. The body has an expansion spread by the plug and outwardly confronting with the jacket. The plug comprises two necks for two different engagements alternatively engaged with the body to provide a locking means and a resealing means for bottle neck. The body is structurally retained between the plug and the jacket being assembled as a unit to form the bottle stopper. When the bottle stopper is initially inserted into a bottle neck and pressed to position at the first engagement, the locking means provides a maximum expansion to lock around the bottle neck. And it has an appearance and a function of indicating whether the bottle neck has previously opened or the stopper has been used. When the bottle stopper is pressed downward positioning at the second engagement, the resealing means provides a slightly expansion for allowing to initially release and reseal the bottle neck.

By moving the levers (30) toward one another the respective feet (27) of the toggle (24) engage with area (35) of the diaphragm (13) to deform the diaphragm and thereby break a sealing effect between the peripheral edge of the diaphragm and the inside wall surface of the open mouth.

Embodiments of the invention allow a plug to be easily, manually inserted into and removed from the pressure vessel. The body includes legs and axially guiding grooves thereof provided on its inner circumference. The plug includes axially positioning ribs adapted to engage with the corresponding axially guiding grooves in order to increase reliability of the combined structure. A combined body and plug member is inserted into the jacket to form a bottle stopper. When the radially inner flange is engaged with the groove, the plug cannot be removed from the body. As the plug is axially pressed into the body, the radial inner flange is then disengaged with the groove, and the outer circumference of the jacket may radially expand to seal or to reseal a bottle.

    Abstract: The invention disclosed and claimed is an improved plug with an internal anchor. The plug has particular utility in masking openings in parts to be coated. Generally, the plug comprises a compressible, resilient plug body and a compression mechanism. The compression mechanism compresses the plug body between an internal plug anchor and an opposed plug compression surface. The compressive force causes the plug circumference to increase forming a tight seal between the plug and walls forming the opening. The internal anchor design and absence of any axial opening through the entire plug body prevent fluids and other coating materials from passing through the internal plug body and into the interior of the part to be coated thereby avoiding costly damage to the part.

The lever bears against the resilient sealing member when placed in the second position. The pressure against the sealing member decreases the diameter of the sealing member such that the sealing member can be inserted into the access opening. Returning the lever to the first or non-bearing position allows the diameter of the sealing member to increase and seal tightly within the access opening. Removal of the sealing member is accomplished by again placing the lever in the second or bearing position and withdrawing the sealing member from the opening.

    Abstract: A fluidtight seal for a container is formed by abutting a metal ring with a step machined in a convexo-concave container closure device and inserting this assembly into an open end of the container. Under compressive force, the closure device deforms causing the metal ring to pivot about the step on the closure device and interact with symmetrically tapered inner walls of the container to form a fluidtight seal between the container and the closure device. The compressive force is then withdrawn without affecting the fluidtight characteristic of the seal. A destructive force against the container closure device is necessary to destroy the fluidtight seal.
