The second portion is removable from the front panel for defining a third opening in the front panel of a different configuration from the second opening and of a different configuration from and overlapping at least a portion of the first opening. The first, second and third openings are for respectively receiving first, second and third raceways having different first, second and third cross-sectional configurations.

  • Patent number: 6218613
Abstract: To separate the chamber of a standard device box into two compartments, one for high voltage power conductors and the other for low power signal conductors a deflectable isolation barrier is employed. In a first form the barrier, its supporting means and attaching means are formed as an integral unit and fastened to the inside surface of a wall plate. The barrier takes a position in the box based upon the depth of the box. In a second form the deflectable isolation barrier is formed as an extension of the side wall of a box insert to be placed in the device box.

  • Patent number: 6188018
Abstract: The device comprises: [a] a base member having a lower plate; an upper plate; a transverse wall extending between both plates; two first side walls, with a front portion attached to the lower plate and a rear portion associated with the upper plate and capable of being separated therefrom; and windows located in the upper plate and removable therefrom; and [b] a cover member having a front embouchure portion; a rear covering portion; second side walls and a rear wall. The cover member and the base member may be coupled together, defining an embouchure for communicating with an opening of an electrical apparatus; the removal of the rear portions of the first side walls opens a space in which a portion of a base section of a raceway containing electrical conductors may be housed.

  • Patent number: 6180883
Abstract: A die cast housing has an aperture with cast in situ lips adjacent upper and lower surfaces. A pair of deformable grommets are inserted in the aperture and compressed by applying a force to a pair of bushings disposed in the grommets. The grommets flow under the compression force to fill the aperture under the lips and are thereby retained in the aperture. This provides the housing with an isolator assembly such that the housing can be mounted to a frame while being electrically isolated therefrom.
