  • Patent number: 11338051
Abstract: Closure mechanisms for closing and sealing sterilization containers and indicators for indicating the seal integrity sterilization containers are provided. For example, a container closure mechanism may be configured to distribute a closure force along a gasket to seal a container lid to a container body. Further, a seal indicator may visibly indicate at the container exterior whether the container is sufficiently sealed to prevent an ingress of contaminants into the container. If the container is sufficiently sealed, the seal indicator is a first state, and if the sterilization container is not sufficiently sealed, the seal indicator is in a second state. Thus, the seal indicator undergoes a state change when the sterilization container transitions from unsealed to sealed or from sealed to unsealed, such that a user can ascertain whether the container is properly sealed to maintain sterility or whether the seal and sterility of the container have been compromised.

  • Patent number: 9718615
Abstract: A refuse container has a bin defining a cavity and a lid selectively inhibiting access to the cavity. A pair of opposing brackets is located below the lid. The brackets are in laterally spaced relationship such that a space is located between portions of the brackets. Each bracket has opposing inner and outer face portions with an interior gap formed between therebetween. The interior gap is fluidly isolated from the cavity. A rib is located within the interior gaps such that each rib extends inwardly relative to the space between the brackets. A retention bar is coupled to each bracket and spans the space from one bracket to the other bracket wherein opposing ends of the retention bar extend into the interior gap of each bracket, and an exposed portion of the retention bar spans the space between the brackets. The end portions of the retention bar abut the ribs.

  • Patent number: 9382050
Abstract: The present invention relates to an airtight container lid used for an airtight container to seal a container body by a foldable locking element, and more particularly, a sealing packing is easily detached without being damaged while the sealing packing is installed in the lid, thereby solving an unhygienic problem generated in a region in which the packing is installed. That is, the packing can be easily detached, and it is possible to seal and hygienically clean the region in which the packing of the lid is installed. To this end, a lid is divided into an upper surface, which covers a container body, and a rim having a locking element, the upper surface is detachably coupled to the rim, and an installation groove is formed to closely couple a packing when the upper surface and the rim are coupled and the installation groove is removed when the upper surface and the rim are separated so that the packing is easily attached and separated and the installation groove is easily cleaned.

  • Patent number: 9266649
Abstract: The present invention includes a lockable safety container that incorporates a pop-up lid to enable person having disabilities to open the safety container, while the safety container retains childproofing features. The childproofing features include a locking pin, a locking tab, and a slide detent. The locking pin is internally biased by a spring that urges the pin to slide in a slideway in the lid of the container. The locking pin may be locked into a closed position by positioning the locking tab into a lock-out position. In the lock-out position, the locking tab cannot slide within a mating slot in the lid and thus the locking pin cannot slide in the slideway in the lid. The childproofing features of the safety container may require the user to engage in at two least distinct hand motions in order to open the container.

Abstract: An animal-resistant system for inhibiting access to refuse containers by animals is disclosed. The system comprises at least one latch mechanism, at least one actuation member, at least one shroud member, and a cover defining an opening which permits access to the actuation member. The actuation member communicates with the latch mechanism so as to move the latch mechanism between the latched and unlatched positions. In the latched position, the latch mechanism secures the container lid to the container base, substantially inhibiting access to the container. The access hole and actuation member are dimensioned and positioned on the container in a selected manner so as allow human hands access to the actuation member and unlatch the container while simultaneously inhibiting such access by animals. The shrouds are further configured to inhibit forcible entry into the container when the system is latched.
