    Abstract: An oxygen-absorbing container includes a container body having a multilayer structure constituted by an innermost layer, an outermost layer and an intermediate layer therebetween, the container body having an opening part on an upper part thereof; and a sealing member bonded to an upper end surface of the opening part of the container body to seal an opening of the opening part. The innermost layer and the intermediate layer are bent outward at an upper end of the opening part and form a flat part and a surface of the flat part forms the upper end surface of the opening part. When the sealing member is unsealed, part of the innermost layer on the upper end surface of the opening part is configured to be peeled off so as to leave an unsealed mark.

The laminated film lid comprises a first layer, a second layer above the first layer and a resealable adhesive between the first and second layers. An unopened package is openable by separating the second layer from the first layer in a peripheral region. The opened package can be reclosed to a ventable state by reattaching the second layer to the peripheral region of the first layer by the resealable adhesive. The ventable state permits venting of gas from an interior of the receptacle between the second layer and the peripheral region of the first layer.

In some configurations the foam layer has a non-porous bottom surface. The assembly may have a support surface under the bottom-most workspace layer, with an elastomer or adhesive affixed thereto to prevent the assembly from moving during use. The barrier layer is affixed to either the foam layer, or the tray (if present), and is removed to expose a sterile workspace when in use.

The first connecting portion comprises a high strength adhesive that is not adapted to separate from the container outer surface or the upper cover surface. The second connecting portion includes a multi-layer connection between the cover surface and the container surface, allowing ready peeling and reattaching of the cover while a resealing, high strength adhesive layer is retained on the container surface. The cover is therefore operably removable from over the container aperture by separation of the second connection portion layers and peeling back over the first connection portion.
