Abstract: Certain configurations described herein are directed to autosamplers. In some instances, the autosampler may include a support comprising a body configured to receive two or more articles at separate sites of the body. The autosampler may also include a first motor coupled to the support and configured to rotate the support in an x-y plane, and a second motor configured to move the support in a z-direction to load one of the at least two articles at the separate sites in the body of the support. An encoder may also be used with the autosampler if desired.

The cap may include a top portion, cap walls that form an outer perimeter, and a protruding end that forms an inner perimeter sized smaller than the outer perimeter. The body may include a bottom portion and body walls with distal outermost ends that form a cavity and a body perimeter. The body perimeter may be substantially the same as the outer perimeter. The body may also include upper outer and inner rims disposed around the entire distal outermost ends and having a channel between them. The channel may be sized to receive the protruding end in a friction seal when the container is in a closed position. No portion of the cap may be configured to extend into the cavity or beyond the body perimeter in the closed position.

Abstract: A sheet metal lid has a rim portion with a resilient sealant for releasably coupling and sealing the lid to a glass or other container enclosing a vacuum food product. The lid is successively pressed with progressive dies to form an upwardly projecting and thinner dome-shape portion which is progressively formed into annular cavity surrounding a vacuum release vent button. The button has a sloping top wall with an upper edge portion connected to a substantially vertical arcuate wall portion adjacent an arcuate score line located in opposing relation to an arcuate reinforcing bead within the cavity. A sealant material is bonded to the inner surface of the button and overlies the score line. The vent button is preferably located below the rim both before and after the vacuum is released, and the sealant material reseats to cover the score line and protect the food product.

A flexible sheet-like cover member (C), having a lower closing element (C1) and an upper label element (C2), is provided to seal the opening. A first portion (10) that defines a first surface of the label element is directly fastened to a central portion (6) of the closing element in contact with the upper face of the neck and reinforces this central portion. A second portion (L), which is entirely offset relative to the upper face of the neck, defines a second surface of the label element. The ratio between the second surface (S2) and the first surface (S1) is at least 1:2, and preferably at least 1:1. The second portion (L) extends above the shoulder 3 of the bottle.

The liner has a side wall, a closed bottom end, and an open top end having an outwardly-projecting rim. The rim has a radially-extending flange portion, and a dependent skirt portion. When the self-supporting plastic liner is inside of the carton, the dependent skirt portion of the rim hangs over the side walls of the carton. A lidding material is removeably affixed to the rim of the plastic liner. A carton lid closes off the open top of the carton.

The lower portion has a height h1 in some embodiments not less than 14 mm and the ratio h1/H is less than 2:5 where H is the height of the container. Several identical containers can be grouped in a pack with breakable junctions at the outer straight side edges.

A sealing panel completely covers the flap of the film layer. A releasable adhesive is provided on either or both the film layer and the sealing panel for adhering the sealing panel to the film layer. The sealing panel is releasable from the film layer by pulling the sealing panel back in a peeling direction and reclosable against the top to seal the access opening when the sealing panel is moved back against the top. A release film is removed prior to adhering the first and second connecting portions along opposing sides of the container aperture, whereafter the upper surface resealably covers the aperture by way of a pull tab along one end. The first connecting portion comprises a high strength adhesive that is not adapted to separate from the container outer surface or the upper cover surface. The second connecting portion includes a multi-layer connection between the cover surface and the container surface, allowing ready peeling and reattaching of the cover while a resealing, high strength adhesive layer is retained on the container surface. The cover is therefore operably removable from over the container aperture by separation of the second connection portion layers and peeling back over the first connection portion.

The present invention also relates to a lid or a package comprising a sealant derived from a dispersion according to the present invention.
