Publication number: 20140260105Abstract: A paint tray liner bag can fully encapsulate a rigid paint tray and fully form to the shape of the rigid paint tray. The paint tray liner bag includes a bag flap that folds over to the bottom of the rigid paint tray and has holes to receive the legs of the rigid paint tray, thereby securing the paint tray liner bag on the rigid paint tray. Unlike rigid paint trays, that do not fit well into sinks and have ridges that can be difficult to clean, the paint tray liner bag can be removed from the rigid paint tray and easily cleaned due to its smooth surface and flexibility to fit into a user's sink.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2013Publication date: September 18, 2014Inventor: David S. Publication number: 20140224808Abstract: An apparatus for retarding oxidation of paint that only partly fills a container, comprising a body, a flexible liner, a movable bottom plate, an attachable lid with a filler port through which the paint can be poured, and a removable filler cap. The movable bottom plate is adjusted up or down, thereby expanding or compressing the flexible liner and changing the volume of the container. After paint is added to the container, excess air is forced out of the container via the filler port by moving the bottom plate up towards the top of the container. When all extra air is expelled, the movable bottom plate is locked into position and the filler port is closed with the removable filler cap. Using this device allows paint to be stored in an air-free environment, reducing oxidation and resulting in greatly improving the shelf life of the stored paint.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 8, 2013Publication date: August 14, 2014Inventor: Jean Ronald Brisard

Patent number: 7878425Abstract: A conventional liquid spray gun having a compressed air supply equipped with a liquid, e.g. paint, container for supplying the liquid to be sprayed onto a target surface. The container has a closed bottom, an open top and a cylindrical sidewall. A removable cover is attached over the open top of the container, and the cover has a pair of apertures extending through it, one of which holds a proximal end of a rigid tube whose distal end extends to a point close to the container's bottom. Slidingly mounted on the rigid tube is a generally circular, movable plunger whose periphery engages the cylindrical sidewall of the container. Pressurized air injected through the second aperture in the cover forces the plunger against the liquid's surface and causes the liquid to flow through the lumen of the rigid tube to the liquid inlet port of the spray gun.Type: GrantFiled: October 23, 2008Date of Patent: February 1, 2011Assignee: Wagner Spray Tech CorporationInventors: James J. Publication number: 20100243656Abstract: The invention generally describes a system and method that utilize a liner insert for a supply bucket of a liquid siphoning system, such as a siphon for an airless paint sprayer. The liner is adapted to simply slide into a bucket that corresponds to its size. The liners preferably are disposable, and may be manufactured, such as from plastic, in various sizes and shapes to accommodate different supply bucket and siphon geometries. Each liner insert contains an inner cavity, generally shaped like the inside of a bucket, adapted to receive and hold the fluid to be siphoned. The bottom of the cavity is shaped to cause the fluid to flow into a smaller recess, or “cup,” located at the lowest point of the inner cavity. The bottom inner surface of the liner is sloped toward the cup, and preferably has one or more recessed and sloping channels formed therein to help direct fluid flow toward the cup.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 25, 2010Publication date: September 30, 2010Inventor: Rye NAZARIAN

Patent number: 7798426Abstract: A spray gun (1) has a fluid reservoir (11) which contains a removable liner (13). The liner (13), which may be thermo/vacuum-formed from a plastic material, is a close fit within the interior of the reservoir and collapses as fluid is withdrawn from within the liner during operation of the gun. Preferably, the liner has a comparatively-rigid base and is capable of standing, unsupported, outside the reservoir. The side walls of the liner are preferably thin in comparison to the base and can be collapsed for disposal of the liner. The reservoir (11) has a removable lid (15) and is capable of standing, inverted, on its own so that it can be filled with fluid. The lid (15) also functions to secure the liner (13) in the reservoir and, at the end of a spraying operation, the lid (15) and the liner (13) are removed together from the reservoir (11) and discarded, thereby simplifying the cleaning of the spray gun.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2004Date of Patent: September 21, 2010Assignee: 3M Innovative Properties CompanyInventors: Stephen C.
