Abstract: A mass of divisible food in a sealed bag is placed between a first part of a frame having a plurality of walls depending from a common plane and forming a plurality of cavities and a second part of the frame having cavities that correspond with and confront the cavities of the first part. The second part is forced toward the first part to pressurize the divisible food in the bag and force the bag to occupy the cavities. Then, the frame, bag and contents are placed in a freezer.

Abstract: An apparatus for sealing a fan drive shaft in a vacuum heat treating furnace is disclosed. The sealing apparatus includes a housing having an annular body and a central opening. An inflatable first seal surrounds the central opening of the annular body. A second seal surrounds the central opening and is adjacent to the inflatable first seal. The sealing apparatus also includes a channel formed in the annular body adjacent to the second seal for conducting a purging fluid into the central opening. A means for injecting the purging fluid into the central opening is operably connected to the channel. A vacuum heat treating furnace and a fan drive system incorporating the sealing apparatus are also described.

Abstract: A sealing system for an outlet of a plastic-lined cylinder has a plastic liner outlet extending into a bore of a boss. An insert is engageable with the bore, forming a primary seal between the insert and portion of the liner outlet. Further, a tapered compression surface of the insert engages a tapered bore portion of the liner outlet adjacent the primary seal for compressing the liner outlet and closing any annular assembly clearance at the primary seal for obviating opportunity for seal extrusion under pressure. An axial position in the boss, and dimensional integrity, of the liner outlet is maintained by engaging an annular distal end of the liner outlet in the bore by a stop. The stop can be integral with the boss. Reverse extrusion of the primary seal due to trapped gas and rapid decompression of the cylinder can be defeated by providing a leak path.

Abstract: A method of sealing a first part to a second part of an enclosure. The first part is a metal extrusion having a channel-shaped cross-section and the second part is a light-transmissive plate, together forming the enclosure. An electrical light source located in the enclosure shines light through the light-transmissive plate. The sealing method includes placing an elongate seal member into a groove of a first part of the enclosure, extending along the groove, and inserting an edge of a second part of the enclosure into the groove of the first part.

Abstract: A CPAP mask storage apparatus having a first storage compartment that is hermetically sealed so as to substantially isolate the CPAP mask stored therein from airborne particles. The CPAP mask storage device includes a first panel and a second panel operable to provide access to the interior volume of the first compartment. The first panel and the second panel are configured to have adjacent longitudinal edges having semi-annular cutouts forming an aperture to accept an oxygen supply tube therethrough when the first panel and the second panel are in a closed position. The CPAP mask storage apparatus further includes a second container having a disinfecting liquid stored therein operable to disinfect the CPAP mask. A third compartment is contiguously formed with the first compartment and is operable to receive and store CPAP mask accessories.

Abstract: A beverage holding device comprising a container and a removably engageable lid. The container includes a partition extending between opposing sides of the sidewall of the container to define a plurality of separated cavities. The partition includes an edge surface forming an interior seal against a lower surface of the lid upon an engagement of the lid with the container for maintaining the plurality of cavities fluidly separated. A plurality of apertures in offset elevated positions above an upper surface of the lid are provided, with each communicating with a respective one of the plurality of cavities. The elevated and offset apertures provide a respective relief area to accommodate a projecting nose of a user during an engagement of the user's mouth with a respective aperture while tipping the container.

Abstract: A seal assembly is provided for maintaining a pressure difference between an exterior and an interior of an object having an access hatch and an access hatch frame. The seal assembly has a seal retainer having an interior face oriented toward the interior of the object, an exterior face oriented toward the exterior of the object, a hatch-side face oriented toward the access hatch and extending from the interior face to the exterior face, and frame-side face oriented toward the access hatch frame and extending from the interior face to the exterior face. The seal assembly also has at least one sealing member mounted on either the interior face or the exterior face of the seal retainer and a plurality of conduits formed in the seal retainer and extending from the exterior face to the interior face.

Abstract: A dispensing cap is disclosed for mixing a primary flowable substance, such as a soap, lotion, or the like, with a small dose of a secondary flowable substance, such as a fragrance. The dispensing cap includes a plurality of reservoirs containing a plurality of secondary flowable substances. Each of the reservoirs is associated with a secondary piston that, when actuated, causes the secondary flowable substance to be expelled from the reservoir into a mixing chamber in the cap, where it is mixed with the primary flowable substance. Upon mixing the two are dispensed together from a dispensing end of the cap. A selector ring is provided to enable the user to select one of the plurality of reservoirs. The selector ring has an actuation flange that aligns with the secondary piston that is associated with the selected reservoir.

In one or more implementations, the container system comprises a lower container for receiving a first food component (or components) and an upper container assembly for receiving a second food component (or components) so that the second food component is separated from the first food component. A biomorphic container includes multiple chambers that are housed in a unified body with a separate lid that individually seals the multiple chambers to secure contents contained therein. Multiple compartments are provided in a container, one of which can be formed as the container's handle. The lid openings can be located strategically over or adjacent the container chambers/compartments, to provide independent access thereto. The compartments or chambers within the container separate the contents thereof, while multiple hinged openings may allow access to individual or multiple chambers or compartments within the container. Tamper evidencing structures in conjunction with detents or engagement structures may hold the lid and container openings in the desired relationship during shipping, handling, storage, and/or use. Abstract: Multi-compartment containers including multi-compartment cans, canisters, boxes and bags and methods for using the same are disclosed. Multi-compartment containers that provide access to one portion of the contents until depleted while maintaining a seal and thus protecting the freshness or potency, of the contents on another portion allows products to be packaged and sold in a way that maintains freshness and potency longer. Each compartment of the multi-compartment containers can be configured to have either a single-use or re-sealable seal.

Abstract: The present invention comprises an insulated container having a liner fitted therein. The liner is removable, reusable, and washable. The insulated container also has an insulated partition defining a pair of thermally isolated compartments to maintain different temperatures in each compartment. To secure the liner in place, a latch is provided, and to vent trapped air, the liner includes a channel. The liner is also configured to shed water when inverted in a washing machine so that the liner can be easily sterilized. An additional unique feature of this invention is that the liner also includes coupling cavities configured to accept various bottles and cans to prevent the bottle or can from tipping over inside the insulated container.

Abstract: A segregation disk and method of separately storing items in a collapsible, tubular container uses segregation disks for segregating the collapsible container into multiple chambers of user-selectable size. The segregation disks are generally planar disks having a diameter slightly greater than the interior diameter of the container, and formed of a flexible material that have a plurality of radial slits extending inwardly from their periphery to form a plurality of flexible wedges. At the terminus of each radial slit is a tear break, generally a circular hole. An integral pull tab extends from a peripheral region of one of the flexible wedges to facilitate removal.
