  • Patent number: 6571533
Abstract: A bottle handling device for assisting in inserting a number of similar sized bottles into a secondary container, such as a partitionless beer carton. The device comprises a frame which, when inserted into the empty carton, provides a number of similar sized cells or compartments equal to the number of bottles which would completely fill the carton. The frame is maintained by support means above the shoulders of the bottles when located in the carton. Each bottle is inserted into, and its main body passes through, the frame until the bottle sits on the carton floor, the walls of each cell preventing a bottle in that cell from toppling over and hindering the insertion of further bottles and completion of filling of the carton. Upon completion and filling of the carton, the device is readily removed for reuse and the bottles are maintained in their upright condition by contacting adjacent bottles and the carton walls.

Abstract: A plant shipping system for transporting horticultural products and the like that is both user and plant friendly. The system includes opposing trays that form the top and bottom of a crate that are spaced apart by a support structure. The support structure comprises a plurality of interlocked upstanding panels to provide a sufficiently strong plant support system. The interlocking of the panels is facilitated by slots formed in each upstanding panel. A portion of a central panel is folded over to bolster the interlocking engagement of the upstanding panels and to maintain the panels in a substantially perpendicular orientation. Each end of the central panel comprises end member that engages a portion of the outermost upstanding panels. The upstanding panels include a plurality of apertures located on predetermined portions of the panels. Support members are inserted into predetermined apertures to define rack locations within the columns for housing of plants.

  • Patent number: 6493917
Abstract: Organizational system for forming customized compartments for compact spaces. A plastic type sheet has pre-perforations formed thereon, for allowing different sized walls and/or floors to be separated therefrom. The sheet can be a thin plastic having side indentations along its edges. Corner connectors can be originally supplied where individual connectors each have four prong prongs/tabs of flat triangular shapes arranged approximately ninety degrees from one another in a cross-shape. Walls/floors can be attached to one another by inserting the prongs/tabs into the side indentations of other walls/floors. The prongs/tabs can separated from the others depending on whether an installer wishes to use a connector to attach two walls/floors together, three walls/floors together or four walls/floors together. When the system is used to make divider walls, other portions can be attached to make a floor for the walls.

A method is provided for attaching a cover to a food serving pan by sliding the tabs toward the tabs retainers and engaging them with the tab retainers, rotating the cover about the tab retainers along a first axis of rotation, translating the cover in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation, and again rotating the cover about the axis of rotation until the open end of the pan is covered.

Abstract: A system of trays and inserts placed in each tray is disclosed, for converting a bucket to an organized receptacle for storing and dispensing small parts or objects. Trays are circular, and are stacked within the bucket. Each tray has low partitions, dividing the tray into pie slice segments. An insert is placed in each segment. Inserts have constricted necks, enabling them to be grasped readily by the fingers of a user, even when the insert is filled with small objects. An individual tray is thereby readily removable, even if filled with small parts, independently of neighboring inserts. Inserts are optionally provided with tightly fitting caps. Both trays and inserts are provided in variable vertical dimensions. Two short inserts or trays occupy the same height within the bucket, as a single tall insert or tray. Alternative trays include removably installable, radially disposed partitions therein, providing for variable volume for the various areas of the tray(s).

Because an upper region of each of the bank notes are exposed at the openings regardless of the size thereof, it is easy to touch the bank notes at the openings even for small sized bank notes. Also the bank notes are reliably supported by the partition plates since it is not necessary to provide a wide opening in the partition plates for easy access to bank notes.
