Abstract: In summary there is provided in one embodiment a quick-cook bean pot which creates an environment whereby beans cook far more efficiently than traditional methods. The constant low-temperature applied to the base causes the food to travel up the large, spherical cooking chamber toward the narrow, short cylindrical neck. At the short cylindrical neck, the (relatively cooler) beans encounter the relatively hotter beans that have traveled more recently from the base and the “cooler” beans travel back to the base which again heats them, sending a constant flow of hotter beans from the base through the spherical cooking chamber, up the cooler short cylindrical neck where the cooler beans settle and the cyclical process is repeated continually until the beans are done and the heat source is removed.

In a fully retracted configuration, the grasping portion of the handle is fully beneath the generally planar body of the top side of the lid. A combined height of the lid and the vessel, when the lid is engaged with the vessel, may be at least 23.8% less when in the fully retracted configuration compared to the fully extended configuration.

Abstract: Solutions for leveling the surface of cookware are disclosed. In one embodiment, at least one detachable adjustable leg makes contact with the stove surface to tilt the cooking surface to make it level. The pressure on the stove surface can be increased or decreased, thereby increasing the tilt until the cooking surface is level. In another embodiment, at least one detachable adjustable leg is weighted at one end and the weighted end extends outward to make the cooking surface level. In yet another embodiment, the cookware comes with at least one adjustable leg permanently attached. In all cases, multiple adjustable legs can be used to increase the stability and accuracy. In another embodiment, adjustable legs protrude from the top or bottom surface of a grate that typically covers a flame on gas stove surface. In another embodiment, shims are placed underneath a grate to change the tilt of the top surface.

Abstract: A shaped cooking vessel for preparing food; particularly oysters. The shaped cooking vessel is formed from a planar base and a lateral wall of uniform thickness; the planar base and the lateral wall preferably being in the general shape of an oyster shell. The planar base provides a flat surface for evenly heating food and for balancing the shaped cooking vessel as to prevent rolling. The lateral wall provides a sufficient depth as to retain both solid and liquid food stuffs. A plurality of ridges integrated into the lateral wall provides an increased surface area in order to increase the heat transfer from the lateral wall to the food to be prepared, which in turn decreases cooking time of said food. The shaped cooking vessel can be nestled between a preceding cooking vessel and a subsequent cooking vessel in order to reduce storage space.

Abstract: A lid is presented that is configured for placement onto the upstanding wall of a pot. The lid includes a pair of platforms that create a flat lid surface and a recessed handle that provides an ergonomic grasping area for easy placement and removal of the lid while maintaining a flat stacking surface. The first platform extends substantially horizontally from the perimeter of the lid ledge, whereas the second platform is horizontally disposed within a recessed concave area within the central portion of the platform. A handle extends upward from the center of the second platform to a height even with the first recession, thereby forming a flat lid upper surface that may support the base of a stacked pot thereon or utensils temporarily placed thereon while cooking.
