Patent number: 11939253Abstract: The invention relates to a method for shaping a glass pane (1), wherein the glass pane (1) is first heated and then bent until it has reached a shape that corresponds to a predefined target contour (ks), wherein exterior forces act on the glass pane (1) for the purpose of bending the glass pane (1). A change in a local curvature of the glass pane (1) over time is controlled such that the surface of the glass pane (1) simultaneously achieves the target contour at all points of the surface that do not remain static, by setting a temperature, and thus a viscosity, of the glass pane (1) so as not to be constant as a function of the location during the bending operation, and/or by suitably setting forces transferred by mounts (6) and/or pressure forces transferred by one or more pressure strips (3). The application furthermore relates to multiple glazed units produced by the method.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2019Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft zur Förderung der angewandten Forschung e.V.Inventors: Matthias Gremmelspacher, Tobias Rist, Peter Gumbsch, Rainer Kubler, Adrian Baab

Patent number: 7367466Abstract: A container corner fitting provided at each right angle of a container body and connected with other parts of the container body includes a sealing device arranged thereon including a first flange of a predefined length provided on one of an inner side surface and a top or a bottom surface of the corner fitting. A second flange of a predefined length is provided on the other of the inner side surface and the top or the bottom surface of the corner fitting and aligned with the first flange. The seal gasket, provided with circumstance of the container gate, can depend on the first and second flanges while closing the gate, greatly improving container hermetic performance. The thickness of an upper or a lower horizontal container member can be reduced to approximate that of a top or a bottom container plate, obtaining the largest volume without inclining the bottom plate.Type: GrantFiled: May 21, 2003Date of Patent: May 6, 2008Assignee: China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yuanda Zhou, Sidong He

Patent number: 7194060Abstract: Heat conductive fins (107) are welded along both sides of a belt-like member (105a) with a margin left along edges of the both sides, thereby to form a unit (105c). The unit (105c) is welded to a body (101) with the heat conductive fins (107) from the outside of each fin. Next, another belt-like member (105b) is covered over a gap between adjacent belt-like members (105a, 105a), and these members are welded from the outside. With this arrangement, there is no need to weld in a narrow and long space and the entire welding step is carried out from the outside, which makes it easier to assemble a cask.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2004Date of Patent: March 20, 2007Assignee: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd.Inventors: Katsunari Ohsono, Toshihiro Matsuoka, Suguru Hode, Shinji Ookame

Patent number: 7163121Abstract: A bond joint and process of bonding metal parts to one another to form seamless, hollow metal articles, particularly made from beryllium. Tooling is assembled to the parts, prior to hot pressing, to cause pressure to be applied to flanges that extend peripherally from the parts. The parts, assembled together with the tooling, are then subjected to hot isostatic pressing of the flanges at a temperature of about 1700° F. to 1750° F., and at a pressure of about 2000 psi to 2500 psi, for around 3 hours. The tooling surrounding the metal parts functions to limit the amount of compression of the flanges. Articles formed by this process are particularly useful in space flight applications because they are formed of a homogeneous material. This means that the articles can operate under high pressure despite being subjected to temperature cycling. Strength of the bond joint is enhanced because no filler metal is used.Type: GrantFiled: November 5, 1999Date of Patent: January 16, 2007Assignee: Swales & Associates, Inc.Inventors: Charles J. Patent number: 7108152Abstract: A method of manufacturing a fryer vat includes the step of welding together side portions and a main portion of a fryer vat, in which the step of welding includes the step of forming a plurality of vertical vat welds. Further, the step of forming includes the steps of applying a torch over a filler material for a period of time sufficient to melt the filler material, and deactivating the torch in order to allow the melted filler material to cool to a temperature sufficient to form a solid material. The method also includes the step of reapplying the torch over the vertical vat welds for a period of time sufficient to remelt only a portion of the vertical vat welds.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2002Date of Patent: September 19, 2006Assignee: Henny Penny CorporationInventors: Ned M. Patent number: 7090091Abstract: A large-volume container for holding liquid media is composed of two shell-like end parts each having a ring-shaped flat contact surface, and at least one sleeve-like middle part composed of two ring segments and provided with two ring-shaped flat contact surfaces and an opening for filling and emptying. The two end parts as well as the ring segments of the middle part are manufactured by blow molding with an inner layer and an outer layer, are provided with external stiffening ribs formed as chambers, and are connected in the areas of their contact surfaces by an inner and outer weld. The two end parts as well as the ring segments have in the areas of their contact surfaces a circumferential chamber, wherein the contact surfaces have at their circumferential boundary edges backwardly extending inclinations for forming welding grooves between the end parts and/or the ring segments.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 2003Date of Patent: August 15, 2006Inventor: Günter Richter
