  • Patent number: 8844742
Abstract: A drinking mouth portion pointing upward is provided on a plug body of a container main body having a sealed structure. A down-pointing beverage cylindrical member is built into the container main body and has a front edge side thereof communicated with the drinking mouth portion. Provided inside a fluid passage of the beverage cylindrical member is a valve movable in accordance with a pressure difference therein. The valve is not manually opened and closed, but reacts to a suction force in the fluid passage. An up-pointing cut-out section is provided on a lower edge of the beverage cylindrical member, thus allowing one to drink up a content fluid remaining in an inner bottom section. Therefore, a relatively small number of additional parts are needed to address the spewing of a content fluid and the occurrence of a residual liquid at the time of opening the drinking mouth portion.

  • Patent number: 6443324
Abstract: A tab top beverage can has a compressible drinking straw held between the can bottom and an upwardly extending detachable closed cavity formed in the can top. Detachment of the cavity by a pivoting tab top uncovers a straw access orifice through which the straw is projected by the force of a previously compressed corrugated spring section formed in the straw wall. A bulge located on the straw prevents passage of the straw from the can and facilitates extension of the straw. The tab is attached to the can top by outwardly projecting lips formed on upwardly projecting closed cavities defined in the can top. The cavities extend through openings in the tab and the lips extend beyond the opening perimeters to secure the tab to the cavities and top.

Abstract: A lid for a drinking cup having a bottom and a sidewall extending generally upwardly from the bottom, the sidewall including an upper edge and an inner surface. The lid comprises a base, a mouthpiece which extends generally upwardly from the base and which has a longitudinal hole formed therethrough, and an elongated stem which depends generally downwardly from the base generally opposite the mouthpiece. The stem comprises two longitudinal side surfaces which are adapted to conform to the inner surface and a longitudinal channel which is formed between the side surfaces. The stem further comprises an upper portion, a lower portion and a spring element for hingedly connecting the lower portion to the upper portion and for biasing the lower portion radially outwardly relative to the upper portion. The channel communicates with the hole in the mouthpiece and, when the lid is secured to the cup, the side surfaces engage the inner surface to form a fluid passageway through which fluid in the cup may be extracted.

Abstract: By lifting the other end of a grip, one end of the grip presses down a can lid portion, and a can opening is formed in a can upper wall while a score line delimiting the can lid portion is torn. The can lid portion is moved into the beverage can, an edge of the can lid portion, which is opposed to the other end of the grip is moved and contacted to a connection piece thereby to bend the connection piece along its score line. Accordingly, the continuously moving can lid portion pulls the connection piece toward the center of the beverage can, and a rotating member integrally connected to the connection piece is rotated about the line connecting the centers of a pair of projections. As the rotating member is rotated, an upper end of the rotating member is moved toward the can opening, and a bellows part of a straw, which is prevented from upward expanding, projects through the can opening and beyond the can upper wall. Therefore, it is possible to drink beverage through the projected straw.
