Abstract: A handle includes highly flexible locking tabs at opposite ends. Each of the opposed ends includes a generally triangular tab with a longitudinally extending slit aligned with the longitudinal axis of the handle for allowing the triangular tab to deflect for ease of insertion into an aperture in a tray or pot. The handle ends also include a secondary locking tab which is spaced in alignment with the longitudinally extending slit inwardly of the generally triangular tab. The locking ends include inwardly extending slots which define shoulders which engage a side of the tray or pot opposite the triangular tab for stabilizing the end of the handle in its locking engagement with the tray or pot.

Abstract: A waste cart includes a container having a wall, with a pocket formed in an outer surface of the wall that creates a first sidewall facing a second sidewall, with an opening formed in both sidewalls. A grab bar has a free-sliding end and a retention end. The free-sliding end is inserted through the opening in the first sidewall, and the retention end is inserted through the opening in the second sidewall. The retention end includes a retainer for securing the grab bar with respect to the second sidewall. In the current embodiment, the grab bar includes a snap element near the retention end and a flange portion between the snap element and the free-sliding end. When the grab bar is installed, a portion of the second sidewall is positioned between the snap element and the flange portion.

A liquid-in-box container in accordance with the present invention may comprise: (a) a box; (b) a liquid-containing receptacle; (c) a spout; (d) a spout outlet aperture; (e) a first hand-hold aperture; (f) a second hand-hold aperture; (g) a third hand-hold aperture; and (h) a fourth hand-hold aperture.

Abstract: A collapsible container adapted to allow a person to manually carry items within the container by use of at least one handle connected to the container. The container has a plurality of flexible loop frames each contained in a pocket connected to form sides of the container in an expanded configuration. The handle has a first end extending through a buttonhole in one of the pockets and encircling the flexible frame and the pocket portion containing the flexible frame. The handle may further have a second end extending through another buttonhole in the pocket or an adjacent pocket and encircling the flexible frame and the pocket portion containing the flexible frame. The edge of the buttonholes is preferably finished with strengthening structure.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a container and handle assembly comprising a container having at least one anchor having a portion embedded in a body of the container. The anchor has an unembedded portion with an attachment site. The assembly further comprises a handle formed separately from the container, where the handle has a mating attachment site for engaging the attachment site of the unembedded portion of the anchor. Also disclosed are methods of forming a container having at least one anchor partially embedded therein.

Abstract: A bottle for use with an apparatus such as a water cooler that is easy to install. The bottle has a recessed area on the bottom and a handle in the recessed area. The handle allows a human who is to install the bottle on a water cooler an easy way to grip and control the bottle, helping the human avoid spilling the water while the bottle is being installed.

Abstract: A molded plastic container and closure combination in which the closure is provided with a manually removable tear band between upper and lower locking structures. Once the tear band has been removed, it is possible to hinge the closure open while allowing it to remain attached to the container. Various features adding hoop strength and stacking strength are provided. A bail and bottom handle facilitate pouring from the container.

Abstract: A two piece storage container including a lid having a rectangular shape with sides and ends defining therebetween a recessed interior, the lid including a plurality of spaced apart lips extending from a selected end. A base corresponding generally in outline with the lid and including an equal plurality of upwardly projecting hinge supports which are located proximate to an associated end of the base arrayed in opposing and communicable fashion relative to the lips upon positioning of the lid over the base. The lips are angularly supported within said hinge supports in a first open rotated position and, upon being rotated to a closed position, capable of being linearly displaced against said hinge supports to lock said lid to said base.

Abstract: The present structure provides a content extractor including a retention member sized to fit into an inner surface of a container and a pull member having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end of the pull member having a pull tab, the distal end of the pull member configured to securely extend from the retention member in slidable communication with the inner surface of the container.

Abstract: A carton handle comprising a first base portion; a second base portion; a pair of retaining flanges which are extended outwardly on each side of the first and the second base portions; a connecting portion connecting the first and second base portions and a ring structure with a U-shape joined on top of the second base portion. First and second base portions are molded to have a generally rectangular shape and dimensions of an aperture in a carton wall such that, upon insertion in an aperture, the first and second base portions are movable to respective positions wherein the retaining flanges lie contiguous with one surface and the opposite surface of the carton wall.

Abstract: A bucket combination has a bucket and a removable inner bucket and wringer that fit within it. The inner bucket fits on one side of the larger bucket, and has three loops with tabs that extend over an upper rim on the bucket and engage a lower edge section on the rim. The inner bucket also has a bail that fits within a recess to provide a flat upper surface. The wringer rests on top of the upper surface on the inner bucket, and has a wringing section that fits within it. Flanges on the wringer fit within the loops on inner bucket and directly engage the lower edge section on the rim on the larger bucket. The flanges have an outwardly-extending arm.

Abstract: A handle assembly includes a mounting bracket and a handle. The mounting bracket supports the handle which can pivot relative to the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket includes first and second mounting elements which prevent the handle from rotating more than approximately ninety degrees relative to the mounting bracket.

Abstract: A system for handling a radioactive source includes a container containing a radioactive source and a cap mounted on the container to retain the radioactive source inside the container. The cap has a first locking structure and a second locking structure. The system further includes a handling tool having a support shaft, a first locking tip adapted to form a first lock with the first locking structure, and a second locking tip adapted to form a second lock with the second locking structure. The first and second locking tips are slidably coupled to the support shaft.

Abstract: A container and handle assembly includes a container having a body and an integral neck finish with a pocket and a ledge diametrically spaced from the pocket. A handle has a C-shaped yoke with a first arm having an end hook for receipt in the pocket, and a second arm having an end lug for engaging the ledge on the container body.

Abstract: A trash container with a lid is emptied by a mechanical lifting device. A latch bar is provided that is engaged by the lift when the container is inverted. The latch bar is mounted in openings on both sides of a wide recess on the front wall of the container. The outer ends of the latch bar extend through the openings into the inside of the container and are accommodated with a clearance portion of a lower stacked container when the containers are stacked together for shipment. The lid is initially assembled in an open position with the lid hanging down vertically. After closing the lid for the first time by rotation of the lid through 270°, a hinge stop prevents the lid from being rotated back to the original position. The hinge stop supports the lid in an open position that is rotated about 110° from the closed position.

Abstract: A container for storage and dispensing of paint includes a unitary, molded plastic container body defining an interior volume and including an annular neck portion which is externally threaded and which defines the container opening through which the contents are dispensed. Included as part of the paint container is a dispensing spout which is positioned within the annular neck portion and includes a pouring lip, a wiping edge, and a paint brush receptacle with a plurality of drain-back apertures. The dispensing spout includes two threaded portions, one which engages the neck portion and the other which receives a removable closing cap. The cap is constructed and arranged to close the container opening. A transporting handle is provided and is attached directly to the dispensing spout such that the cap, spout, and handle can be provided as a subassembly for threaded engagement onto the container body.

Abstract: A container body with a lid hingedly joined thereto for movement about a pivot axis utilizing an elastomeric spring of generally ellipsoidal configuration extending transversely across the pivot axis and having opposed ends seated within the container body and lid, the spring folding centrally at the area of maximum thickness with the elastic deformation biasing the lid to its open position upon release of the closing force on the lid. The pivotal hinge assembly is enclosed by an integral transversely extending handle panel outward of the hinge assembly.

Abstract: A hand-held vessel has a bottom wall, a sidewall and a supportive strap attached to the bottom wall and the sidewall. The bottom wall and sidewall have an inner and outer surface. The sidewall extends from the bottom wall, whereby the inner surfaces of the bottom wall and sidewall define a cavity for holding fluids or loose materials therein. The strap has a first end and a second end, whereby the first end is fixedly attached to the sidewall and the second end is selectively secured to the bottom wall. The strap is adaptable to accept a user's hand disposed between the strap and the outer surface of the sidewall. The strap urges the hand against the outer surface of the sidewall to secure the vessel to the hand and stabilize the vessel with respect to movement relative to the hand.

Abstract: A blow molded article includes an outer wall and an article retaining feature projecting outwardly therefrom. The article retaining feature includes a distal wall and a side wall connecting the distal wall and the outer wall of the blow molded article. The side wall is generally orthogonal to the outer wall of the blow molded article, and an inner surface is defined at least partially by inner edges of the side wall, the distal wall and the outer wall of the blow molded article. The side wall has a hole integrally molded therein.

Abstract: A drinking vessel, such as a commemorative mug, with a detachable handle is disclosed. In an illustrative embodiment of the invention, a mug includes a ceramic vessel body and a metal handle insertably attached to the vessel body. The vessel body defines two channels extending from the vessel body in directions about 30 degrees to about 150 degrees apart. The handle has two ends and includes a flexible portion biasing the two ends to maintain both of the ends inserted in their respective channels. Each channel and its respective end of the handle have matching locking teeth that form an interlocking mechanism with the locking teeth in the channel in locking engagement with the locking teeth on the handle end.

Abstract: A container of the gable top variety having a handle which resides within the bounds of the footprint of the container while further providing for the placement of a pouring spout on the top end of the container. In accordance with a further aspect of the invention, the container is formed from a flat blank of a paperboard-containing material having foldable panels which, when folded, define the gable top of the container, one of the two major panels of the defined top being larger that the second of these major panels and further being oriented at an angle with respect to the vertical which is different from the angle of orientation of the second major panel. In the present container, the pouring spout is disposed on the second (smaller) major panel and the handle is disposed on the larger of the two major panels. The handle of the present container may be formed integrally with the blank or attached to the partially or fully erected container.

Abstract: A tote box is comprised of a box structure having a bottom and upstanding side walls, each of the side walls having upper edges which form a top edge of the box structure. A top rail extends around the top edge of the box structure, the top rail having an open channel formed between a pair of channel walls, with the channel positioned over the top edge. An aperture is formed in at least one of said side walls of the box structure. A handle is positioned to engage the aperture in the side wall to form a handle for the box structure. The handle includes a flange extending along the side wall proximate the top edge, and a portion of the flange is positioned within the open channel of the top rail. A protruding structure extends from the flange and is configured to engage the top rail and secure the handle in the top rail and box structure.

Abstract: Preforms or parisons are blow molded from synthetic resin into hollow articles including a neck region and a body area, the hollow articles having hooks and recessed areas formed into their outside walls. Flexible strings are molded below the neck region of varying thickness in the longitudinal direction to achieve molecular orientation of the synthetic resin. The flexible strings are looped around the hooks or lifted above the neck finishes to form flexible handle containers. Rigid handles or combined flexible string and rigid handle portions are incorporated into the hollow articles to form rigid handle containers.

Abstract: A container for holding foods comprises a base member (1); a cover member (3) which is connected to the base member (1) by releasable locking engagement; a first recessed carrying handle (20) provided on a lower side of the base member (1); and a second recessed carrying handle (11) provided on an upper side of the cover member (3). To achieve a substantially flat support surface for both the base member (1) and the cover member (3), the first and second carrying handles (20, 11) are integrated with and recessed into the contour of the base member (1) and of the cover member (3), respectively, such that each of the base member (1) and the cover member (3) have substantially flat surface portions so that the container will rest stably on a flat support surface such as a table in both the upright and inverted positions of the container.

Abstract: A meatloaf pan with removable, hinged pan insert is disclosed, comprising an elongated, rectangular meatloaf pan and an elongated, rectangular pan insert. The pan insert has two insert side panels that are hinged at their bottom edges to the longitudinal edges of the bottom of the pan insert. The hinges allow the insert side walls to support the meatloaf, bread or other product during baking, and fold downward to allow access to the product for cutting and serving purposes. As such, the present invention can be used as a serving tray. Removal of the pan insert is facilitated in one of three ways. First, built-in hand grips in the flanges located on the pan insert. Second, a set of handles that connect to the flanges located on the pan insert. Third, a sliding unit that slidably inserts into the cavity formed by the rolled edges of the flanges on the pan insert.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a foldable carrying handle for a portable lunch-box which is made of plastic and consists of seven pieces which are hingedly interconnected into one-part bar-shaped body. The one-part bar-shaped body includes a cross bar, two upper overlapping pieces, two lower overlapping pieces and two positioning pieces. The cross bar corresponds to the width of the lunchbox and is positioned at the center of the bar-shaped body. The two upper overlapping pieces are symmetrically disposed at both ends of the cross bar. The two lower overlapping pieces are symmetrically disposed at outer end of both upper overlapping pieces. The two positioning pieces having finger-shaped fastener are symmetrically disposed at outer end of both lower overlapping pieces.

Abstract: A plastic tote box of the type having a lid. The lid is a two-piece hinged lid, with each piece of the lid being hinged along the top of opposite sides of the box. Each of the lid pieces has at least one hollow channel formed therein. The hollow channels improve the structural integrity of the lid pieces without adding additional lid material. In a box top lid having a substantially planar central area surrounded by a raised peripheral edge, a cut out is formed in the peripheral edge providing a drainage path for fluid which has collected in the central area to flow off the lid without entering the box. A mail slot is formed in a box side for insertion of a packing slip or the like into the box without opening the box lid.

Abstract: The invention concerns a cooking utensil comprising a bowl and a removable grip handle. The bowl comprises over at least part of its periphery a rim projecting outwards from the bowl side wall, at least an orifice for receiving the handle passing through the rim wall, while the handle end comprises an upper part limited by a stop and designed to be inserted from above the orifice up to the stop and a lower part designed to extend beneath the rim. The invention is particularly applicable to cake tins.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a handled plastic container which includes the steps of: a) positioning a preformed handle and a synthetic resin preform within an open blow mold without mutual engagement of said handle and preform; said handle including upper retaining means and lower retaining means and said preform including a molded engagement portion adapted to engage with the upper retaining means of the handle; b) causing the upper retaining means of the handle to interconnect with the engagement portion of the preform after the handle and preform have been separately positioned within the blow mold; and c) stretch blow molding the preform in the blow mold wherein said blow molding stretches the preform beneath the engagement portion into blow mold to form a container and expands the sidewall of the preform so as to retain the upper retaining means of the handle in interconnecting relation with the engagement portion of the preform.

Abstract: A plastic tote box of the type having a lid. The lid is a two-piece hinged lid, with each piece of the lid being hinged along the top of opposite sides of the box. Each of the lid pieces has at least one hollow channel formed therein. The hollow channels improve the structural integrity of the lid pieces without adding additional lid material. In a box top lid having a substantially planar central area surrounded by a raised peripheral edge, a cut out is formed in the peripheral edge providing a drainage path for fluid which has collected in the central area to flow off the lid without entering the box. A mail slot is formed in a box side for insertion of a packing slip or the like into the box without opening the box lid.

Abstract: A blow-moldable container, having a centrally located, generally tubular handle spanning a central recess has improved balance and ergonomics over existing blow-molded containers. Such a balanced container has great utility as a handheld freeweight, or as a container for pourable substances. An integrally molded base allows our container to be stood upright on end like a regular bottle. Products may be marketed in such containers under the premise that the consumer automatically acquires a freeweight by purchasing the product. The inclusion of fitably engageable contours on its top and bottom surfaces makes such a container stackable with others of its kind, for ease of packaging, shipping, and storage. A graduated set of handheld fillable freeweights may thus be compactly stored without a special rack. Since blow-molding offers great economy of production for sufficiently large numbers of containers, the average person will now be able to afford an entire graduated set of freeweights.

Abstract: Containers with replaceable lids are provided for holding fresh fruit or other food that is to be quick frozen. The containers and lids are designed so that the containers may be stacked one upon the other and so that flow passages are provided between the lid of one container and the bottom of a like container resting on that lid to permit flow therebetween of a gaseous freezing medium such as frigid air.

Abstract: Ice bucket for bottles or carafes, particularly champagne buckets, includes a bucket wall, a housing having an interior region which is attached to an area of the bucket wall, and an essentially flat bucket attached to the housing so as to cover the interior region thereof. The housing itself preferably includes an installation interface that is distinct from, but installed against, the bucket wall. The bucket marker may thus be attached to the housing in order to cover flaws resulting from the installation of the installation interface against the bucket wall.

Abstract: A portable container includes a closed volume defined by at least one wall member, a through hole extending through the at least one wall member at at least two points, an interior of the through hole being separated from the volume, and a cord extending through the through hole to form a handle. A method of making a portable container is also disclosed.

Abstract: A counter-top electric oven is provided that includes a number of features that prevent overheating of the components of the oven. These features include an actively cooled fan chamber, a hot gas vent, a cooling manifold that directs cooling air to cool the cooking enclosure and hot gas vented from the hot gas vent, and a base with thermally insulated supports for a metallic oven pan of the cooking enclosure.

Abstract: A container for sterilization of medical devices. A container of modular construction is described comprising separable sides, separable corner pieces, and a separable bottom panel. Two opposing sides are of a modular length, and thus by substituting sides of a different length the interior volume of the container may be changed. The container also includes a removeable lid with latching mechanisms on opposing ends. The lid and latching mechanisms are generally flush with the exterior surface of the container.

Abstract: A bucket that children cannot put over their head, having a bottom wall, side walls, a removable lid and a non-pivoting U-shaped handle. The side walls project upwardly from the bottom wall and form an opening having circumscribing edges. The removable lid fits in the circumscribing edges for closing the bucket. The non-pivoting U-shaped handle has opposite side legs slidably mounted onto the side walls. The U-shaped handle also has stopping means for limiting sliding of the handle between a first position where the U-shaped handle bears against the lid when the same is fitted in the circumscribing edges and a second position where the U-shaped handle extends away from the lid and thus makes it possible to remove the lid from the circumscribing edges. Thus, the U-shaped handle, both in first and second positions, divides the opening into two smaller openings which are smaller than a child's head, thus children cannot put the bucket over their head.

Abstract: Two plastic pieces such as a handle and a container are welded together using an ultrasonic horn. Protrusions serving as energy directors are arranged on one piece in a substantially circular array, in a starburst design. A hole or cavity is formed at a central axis of the circular array so that the amount of energy concentrating at inner ends of the energy directors will not create a burned spot or a hole in the container. The ultrasonic energy at the inner ends of the protrusions is concentrated at the smaller inner area defined by the inner ends of the protrusions to first melt inner ends of the protrusions and then the entire protrusions.

Abstract: A combination shipping/display container that has gripping surfaces in two planes associated with the end walls of the container such that lifting of the container is facilitated for placing the containers on their bottom walls for shipping and for placing the containers on their side walls for display purposes.

Abstract: A system for collecting, transporting and disposing of biofluids, such as those collected in a hospital or other health facility, in a manner to protect an operator and related support devices and systems from contact with potentially hazardous biofluids. The system provides a portable container adapted to be connected to the patient's suction tubes and also to the vacuum source, so that biofluid is collected in the container. The container is then moved to a base disposal location, and an outlet valve of the valve and connecting assembly of the container is connected to the base assembly, and the valve of the container moved to an open position. A sealed discharge passageway is formed, and the biofluid flows through this passageway. The valve of the container is closed, and the container removed and either disposed of, or washed, and sanitized so as to be ready for reuse. There is also provided a plug and manifold assembly to removably interfit with the container.

Abstract: A molded one-piece flexible plastic strip handle includes a first wall at one end of the strip that extends from the mid-portion of the strip, a second wall attached by one end to the first wall forming a U with the first wall having its apex below the plane of the mid-portion, and a tongue that extends from the apex toward the second end of the strip and makes an acute angle with the first wall. An opening in the first wall is configured to receive the tongue when it is bent toward the opening by inserting the second wall and first wall in a predetermined opening in a container wall.

Abstract: The bottle handle system uses a bottle having horizontal recesses in its sidewalls. Handle structures are provided with engagement portions that extend into the recesses in the sides of the bottle and provide handle portions that enable a user to readily pick up the bottle.

Abstract: A tray for storing, transporting and presenting various articles. The tray includes a storage platform and a handle member extending therethrough. The storage platform includes an array of variously shaped receptacles. A connection step portion 10 is formed in an upper end portion of the lower contact plate 5 and a fixing plate 9 having such a length that its distal end reaches the inside of the connection step portion 10 extends obliquely toward the grip portion by bending its connection portion with the upper contact plate 4.
