Abstract: A container closure for a container with a cover and a base. The cover includes a sidewall and a rim coupled to the sidewall. The rim includes a depression that takes the place of a male closure component. The base includes a sidewall and an opening in the sidewall for receiving the rim depression. The rim depression and receiving opening provide a snap-fit closure to releasably connect the cover and base.
Abstract: A dispensing fitment has a plurality of angularly spaced discrete retaining bead members extending circumferentially around the internal wall surface of a skirt on the fitment. Thinned wall sections of the skirt between the discrete retaining bead members elastically circumferentially expand to break the hoop strength of the skirt and allow the discrete retaining bead members to snap over and engage an external bead on the container neck. Thin, flexible, radially outwardly extending tabs secure the fitment within a cap for initial application to the container as an assembly with the fitment remaining on the container with subsequent removal of the cap.

Abstract: A lid assembly is provided for a pail which is characterized by a receptacle portion that is closed of by a secondary lid. The receptacle portion is provided for storing and displaying items related to the contents of the pail, e.g., small tools or instructions. The lid assembly may also have a pouring spout, either within or outside of the receptacle portion, so that the contents of the pail may be emptied without removing the entire lid assembly.

Abstract: A closure element for a container equipped with a neck in order to confine a cosmetic product in a tamperproof manner. The closure element is produced by dual-injection molding of plastic and includes a ring non-removably fixed onto the neck, this ring being produced from a first plastic, and a disc forming a lid, produced from a second plastic, an edge of which is received in a groove formed in the ring. The two different plastic materials are incompatible so that no connection occurs between them by thermofusion. The disc is equipped with a tab to facilitate separation of the disc from the ring in order to open the container.
Abstract: A two-piece plastic container and removable cover is provided which is particularly adaptable for containing flowable products. The removable cover comprises a one-piece molded generally circular cover having an annular sealing projection extending generally downwardly in a perpendicular direction from an outer periphery of the cover and an annular locking projection extending generally upwardly in a perpendicular direction from the outer periphery of the cover. The container comprises a one-piece molded cylindrical body having a closed bottom and an open top. Two spaced concentric annular inside and outside projections extend longitudinally upwardly from the open top of the body of the container and define therebetween a cover sealing cavity for receiving the cover sealing projection and cooperating therewith to seal the cover on the container.
Abstract: A closure device (10) for pet food cans comprising a central cover member (12) and an outer cover member (14) which are integrated into the shape of a pet having protruding features (16), said protruding features providing a means of prying the device. Extending downwardly from the cover members (12 and 14) are a plurality of concentric annular bands (18), each having a bead or rib (20) extending inwardly from the inner surface.
Abstract: A reusable cover or lid and container comprising a cover having a lid tray and a peripheral flange, the lid tray having a top face and a bottom face and side walls that are substantially perpendicular to the top face and bottom face of the lid tray, the side walls having an outside surface and an inside surface, the peripheral flange having outside and inside walls, the inside surface of the side walls of the lid tray being complementary to and adapted to fit around the outside walls of the peripheral flange to form a first interface fit, the lid tray and the peripheral flange connected by a hinge, so that the angle between the lid tray and the peripheral flange can be altered and the first interface fit can be made or disengaged as desired, a container defining a cavity, the container having a bottom and outside walls and a rim that defines an opening to the cavity, the peripheral flange being complementary to and adapted to fit around the outside walls of the container and abut against the rim of the contai
Abstract: A closure device allows a welding rod container to be reclosed in an air and moisture tight manner after being opened. The device includes a frame member having an opening therein, and flanges extending downwardly from the frame member outer edges for secure attachment to the container. The opening is of sufficient size to allow a human hand to retrieve a welding rod from the open welding rod container while also helping to prevent contact of the hand with the dangerous sharp edges of the open container. A latchable lid member capable of fitting within the frame member and covering the opening therein is hingedly connected to the frame member such as by an internal or live hinge. The lid member is provided with a flanged bead extending along its outer edges capable of mating with a groove extending along the inner walls of the frame member.
Abstract: A lid 12 for refuse container and lid assembly having a base 14 and side walls 16 extending upwardly therefrom and terminating at an annular rim, the lid having a generally U shaped ledge 22 extending the approximate perimeter of the lid top portion 20 and elevated reinforcement means 36 and 38, and retaining members 70 intended to secure together the container and the lid 12.
Abstract: A device for removing a cork from a bottle opening. This is achieved by a cork retriever. The cork retriever has two components, a sleeve and a plunger. The sleeve is adapted to be driven through the cork member while the plunger is adapted to be driven into the sleeve to thereby lock the sleeve in the cork. The cork can then be removed by way of a pull ring which is positioned at the upper end of the sleeve.
Abstract: A container (10) includes a base portion (11) and a cover (12). The base portion (11) has a bottom surface (22) with opposed walls (23, 24, 25, 26) extending upwardly therefrom to form an open top to be closed by the cover (12). A handle (30) is formed on opposed corners (27). A flap (18) is positioned on one of the corners (17) of the cover (12), the corner (17) being selected such that the flap (17) will not be positioned over a corner (27) of the base portion (11) carrying a handle (30). The base portion (11) is also divided by a wall (31) of the shape of an inverted U so that the base portion (11) of one container (10) can be stacked on the base portion of a like container.

Abstract: A disposable cup lid is provided for covering the open end of a beverage cup, especially a hot drinks cup for beverages such as coffee. The cup lid is a foldback lid, whereby an opening is formed in the lid by lifting and tearing the material of the cup lid at a designated portion of the rim thereof, then peeling back the drink-through portion of the lid, with the edges of the drink-through portion of the lid being defined by an orientation grain in the lid caused by extrusion of the sheet material from which it is formed. Two additional tab portions are formed into the rim of the lid, one at either side of the position where the grasp tab is located, so as to present forwardly extending tabs which are gently rounded at each edge of the drink-through portion of the lid after it has been formed, and thereby so as to preclude sharp edges at each edge of the drink-through portion being presented to the lips and tongue of the user.
