Abstract: A closure assembly comprising a two-part closure having a metal panel or disc (2) and a ring (3), and a container such as a glass jar (20). The ring (3) is substantially cylindrical with an axially upwardly extending sidewall and has a radially inwardly extending lower edge. The jar (20) terminates in a radially outwardly extending beaded rim (16) and the disc (2) has a curled circumference (8) such that this curl (8) co-operates with the beaded rim (16) of the container to provide a primary seal. In one example, in a metal ring (3), the lower edge is curled with equally spaced lugs (13) on the skirt wall. In a plastic ring, the upper rim feature may be omitted.

Abstract: A container includes (i) a metal receiving body having a peripheral upper edge delimiting an upper opening and provided with an one-piece outwardly projection and (ii) a relockable lid including a metallic cover provided with a resilient ring having a locking part with a lower free edge, and divided into two annular portions separated by an annular folding line, whose lower portion is foldable around the folding line between two stable positions. The locking part has:—locking elements including a plurality of beads arranged around the inner surface of the lower portion and at a distance from each other, and—a plurality of orifices, arranged around the locking part at a distance from each other and extending at a distance from the lower free edge, wherein the orifices extend through the locking part, at least over a part of the height of the upper and lower portions thereof.

Abstract: A container configured to hold one or more units of a product is provided. The container may comprise a lid and a base. The lid may comprise a top wall and one or more lid sidewalls extending to a lower lip. A sealing member may be provided at the top wall in a channel defined therein. The base may comprise a bottom wall and one or more base sidewalls extending to an upper lip. Protrusions may extend from the base sidewalls. The lid may be moveable with respect to the base between a decoupled configuration and a coupled configuration. In the coupled configuration, the upper lip of the base may contact the sealing member of the lid to seal shut a storage compartment defined in the base. Further, the lower lip may engage the protrusions to retain the lid in the coupled configuration. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: A metallic lid for a can of the type which presents an opening defining a seating, said lid comprising, in a single piece, a bottom wall which incorporates, superiorly and peripherally, a side wall provided with a free upper edge and designed to be frictionally seated and axially retained in the interior of the seat. According to the invention, the bottom wall comprises a peripheral annular portion adjacent to the side wall, a median portion and an annular rib portion having the cross section in the approximate form of an inverted ‘U’, with the free edges of is lateral legs being respectively incorporated to the adjacent edges of the peripheral annular portion and median portion of the bottom wall.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments include a seal between an open body end of a container body and an edge of a lid. The lid is pressable into the open end of the body in a sealing manner. The components may be made from a light gauge sheet metal. The lid can be removable affixed to the body. The seal is configured to securely attach to the body to provide a safe seal of the container to be capable of withstanding impacts, such as from a shock or fall. Accordingly, the embodiments are applicable to containers which contain hazardous materials.

Abstract: A lid for securing to the rim of a container, the lid including inverted dimples positioned along a top wall of the lid for engaging the rim of the container. The top wall includes one or more inverted dimples which reverse direction and pop up to project outwards and upwards from beyond the top wall of the lid when the lid is applied to the rim of a container. When all the dimples are raised, the lid is seated firmly on the container. The raised dimples provide both visual and tactile confirmation of a secure seal of the lid to the rim of a container.

Abstract: A container with a removable lid for sealing a container, wherein the container is rotationally symmetrical to an axis and has a circular bottom, the outer periphery of which is connected to a surrounding outer wall, which comprises at the top a first rim element that cooperates with a second rim element along the outer periphery of the lid. The lid comprises a circumventing U-shaped track, extending a predetermined way into the container and connects to the second rim element of the lid to an upper circular surface of the lid, wherein the said U-shaped track has an outer wall. The container has a protecting device, comprising a circumventing skirt, arranged to be placed in the U-shaped track, wherein a radial stiffening of the upper rim of the container and the lid are achieved to protect against external influence directed towards the upper rim.

Abstract: The present lid includes a bottom wall incorporating a side wall to be seated and axially retained in the interior of a seat (S) defined by an opening of the can. The bottom wall includes a peripheral annular portion, a median portion and a rib portion with the approximate form of an inverted U and joining the peripheral annular portion and the median portion. The median portion includes an annular panel and a central panel joined to each other by an axial step portion, an outer peripheral edge of the annular panel being incorporated to the annular rib portion, said axial step portion being constituted by a material that is plastically deformed from the adjacent annular panel portion and from the central panel portion.

Abstract: An end cap adapted to releasably secure to a tube having a first open end to form a shipping container. The end cap includes a base, a sidewall surrounding and extending from the base, at least one movable projection biased to extend beyond the outer side of the sidewall, and a deformable sealing element extending from a perimeter of the base and/or from the outer side of the sidewall. When the end cap is secured to the tube, an inner side of tube surrounds the outer side of the sidewall of the end cap, the movable projection extends into a mounting opening formed in the tube proximal to the first open end, and the sealing element is deformed against the inner side of the tube to form a circumferential seal between the end cap and the tube such that the end cap completely plugs a passageway through the tube.

Abstract: A child resistant safety cap having a cover and a safety mechanism by which finger dexterity is required to open the cap, while the safety mechanism capable of being released if it is unnecessary. The cap comprises a cap body 1 having a skirt 3 with at least one stopping piece 9 at one side thereof. The stopping piece 9 has a base end fixed to a lower portion of the skirt 3 such that the stopping piece is pushable inwardly and swayable about the base end. The engaged embossings secure the first and second units to one another. The package can include integrally formed end closures.

Abstract: A closure system for a package includes a cover that interacts with a receiving ring. The cover has a main face and a first protuberance of U-shaped cross-section that projects substantially perpendicular to a plane of the main face and extends about the perimeter of the cover. The first protuberance has at least one first lock element in the form of a projection. The receiving ring is formed on the package and has a second U-shaped protuberance that projects substantially parallel to the package axis and extends about the perimeter of the ring. The second protuberance has a second lock element in the form of a projection. The second protuberance of the ring is configured to receive the first protuberance of the cover such that the first and second lock elements engage each other and prevent removal of the cover while so engaged.

Abstract: A nestable and stackable storage unit including a lid and container is disclosed. The container comprises a base having an upwardly extending wall. The lid is a substantially planar member having top and bottom surfaces and peripheral edge. The lid can be connected to the top of container by locating a head on the rim into a groove located on the bottom surface of the lid. The lid can be connected to the bottom of the container by pressing the lid onto the base which also includes a head. The units can be stored by locating each lid on the base of the container, and nesting the units within one another. Each lid includes a ridge and recess on its top surface for allowing stacking of the same or different size containers upon one another.

Abstract: A two-piece plastic container and removable cover is provided which is particularly adaptable for containing flowable products. The removable cover comprises a one-piece molded generally circular cover having an annular sealing projection extending generally downwardly in a perpendicular direction from an outer periphery of the cover and an annular locking projection extending generally upwardly in a perpendicular direction from the outer periphery of the cover. The container comprises a one-piece molded cylindrical body having a closed bottom and an open top. Two spaced concentric annular inside and outside projections extend longitudinally upwardly from the open top of the body of the container and define therebetween a cover sealing cavity for receiving the cover sealing projection and cooperating therewith to seal the cover on the container.

Abstract: A reclosable, container and a method of forming and assembling the roclosable container is provided. A cup forms an interior and a top opening to provide access to the interior and a lid is releasably connected to the cup to selectively close the top opening and to form a seal with the cup to seal the interface or connection between the lid and the cup.
