Abstract: A closure cap for the filler neck of a reservoir, in particular, one for fuel or motor oil for e.g. motor vehicles, comprising a grip and a rotating lifting device whose first part (sealing part) facing the grip is provided with a sealing ring and whose other part (tightening part), which faces away from the grip and which is provided with detent lugs serving to engage under a closure cap of the filler neck, can be turned relative to the filler neck when the closure cap undergoes a turning motion. The other part (tightening part) can, when the grip undergoes a turning motion, be axially displaced relative to the first part (sealing part) of the rotating lifting device against the force of a spring.

  • Patent number: 7886781
Abstract: A system, for preventing overflow in a tank, fillable via a nozzle, includes a lower passage and an upper passage. An upper end of the lower passage receives a portion of fuel flow from the nozzle, and a lower end is in communication with the tank. The upper passage has a lower end in communication with an interior of the lower passage and an upper end in communication with a hole in the nozzle. A valve connects to the lower passage and has a fill position and a stop position. When a level of liquid in the tank is below a predetermined level, the valve is in the fill position and fuel is permitted to flow out the lower end of the lower passage. When the level of liquid in the tank is at or above the predetermined level, the valve is in the stop position and blocks the flow of fuel out of the lower end of the lower passage.

  • Publication number: 20110011860
Abstract: A filler tube assembly is used with a fuel pump nozzle having a pressure sensing port. The filler tube assembly includes a receiver having an inner wall defining an aperture, which receives the pump nozzle. The inner wall defines an orifice and a seal is coupled to the inner wall about the orifice for defining a chamber between the inner wall, the seal, and the fuel pump nozzle when the fuel pump nozzle is disposed in the aperture. A vacuum tube has a coupled end in fluid communication with the orifice and an open end in fluid communication with the fuel tank. The receiver defines a rim for seating the fuel pump nozzle in the aperture to align the pressure sensing port with the orifice. When fuel covers the open end of the vacuum tube, a pressure change is transmitted through the filler tube assembly to the pressure sensing port.

Abstract: A vehicular fuel tank fuel filler orifice device that is provided with a fuel filler orifice (15a) in an upper wall (3a) of a vehicular fuel tank (3) that stores ethanol fuel as fuel for an engine and a fuel filler guide tube (15) extending from the fuel filler orifice (15a) to the interior of a fuel tank (3) and receiving a fuel filler gun (G), wherein mounted on the fuel filler guide tube (15) are a flame arrestor (21) and a gun stopper (20), the flame arrestor (21) covering a lower opening of the fuel filler guide tube (15) and allowing flow of the fuel but preventing the entrance of flame, and the gun stopper (20) preventing abutment of the fuel filler gun (G) inserted into the fuel filler guide tube (15) against the flame arrestor (21). This enables damage to a flame arrestor by a fuel filler gun inserted into a fuel filler orifice to be prevented without using a long fuel filler guide tube.
