Patent number: 5685457Abstract: A tube of flowable material closed at one end and formed with a clasp projectable through a slit in a cylindrical housing to engage one or more deflectable teeth in a slot formed in a reel carried from such housing. The clasp is then engaged behind the teeth to thereby be latched in position on the reel for winding on such reel to draw the tube successively through the slit as the reel is rotated.Type: GrantFiled: April 26, 1996Date of Patent: November 11, 1997Inventor: Raymond A. Liberatore

Patent number: 5558250Abstract: A device for use in dispensing the contents of a collapsable tube, the device including a shaped spring clip the ends of which are inserted into the ends of a slotted member so that in use a folded tail of the collapsable tube is inserted into the slotted member, when the slotted member is rotated the spring clip contacts the exterior of the tube forcing it to wrap around the slotted member and if the cap of the tube is removed, material is dispensed from the tube.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 1994Date of Patent: September 24, 1996Inventor: Paulus Manders

Patent number: 5449092Abstract: A toothpaste and floss dispenser having an elongated guide body with opposite ends, the guide body defining a dental floss chamber therein, a pair of mounts spaced from each other and attached to the guide body adjacent respective ones of the guide body ends, the mounts having securing portions for adhering the mounts to a wall surface, a guide follower having a sliding interfit with the guide body for movement along the guide body between the mounts, the guide follower having rotational toothpaste tube gripping and winding spool for winding a toothpaste tube thereon to dispense toothpaste from the tube. One of the mounts has a dental floss dispensing passage in communication with the dental floss chamber of the guide body and with the exterior, and a floss cutter.Type: GrantFiled: April 28, 1994Date of Patent: September 12, 1995Inventor: Ronald R. Patent number: 5421486Abstract: A dispenser including a rotatable rod with a flexible member attached thereto. The flexible member includes an opening at one end for receiving and retaining the cap end of a tube-type container filled with flowable material. The pinched end of the tube-type container is positioned between the flexible member and the rod. When the rod is rotated, the flexible member, along with the tube-type container, is drawn towards and wrapped around the rod. The force applied by the flexible member and rod on the tube-type container in wrapping the tube around the rod squeezes out a predetermined amount of flowable material for consumer use.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 1994Date of Patent: June 6, 1995Inventor: J. V. Simmons

Patent number: 5382106Abstract: An improved toothbrush with a teeth cleansing substance dispensing system is provided, which consists of a mechanism in cooperation with a compartment in an enlarged handle, which will dispense some teeth cleansing substance through a channel in a neck and head and out through at least one lateral passageway into bristle groups, so that the bristle groups can clean teeth. An apparatus is also in cooperation with the channel in the head and neck for sealing the at least one lateral passageway, when not in use. This stops the flow of the teeth cleansing substance and prevents germs, bacteria, water and other foreign elements from contaminating the teeth cleansing substance left in the channel and the compartment.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1993Date of Patent: January 17, 1995Inventor: Bernard Voigt

Patent number: 5322193Abstract: A tube dispenser 10 and a dispensing method for collapsible tubes 24 are disclosed for operation by one hand. The dispenser has a pistol-like handle 12 which allows a high torque to consistently be applied to the tube by the thumb, thereby dispensing the tube's contents rapidly and in a uniform bead.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 1992Date of Patent: June 21, 1994Inventor: Howard F. Sunderland

Patent number: RE35587Abstract: A tool for squeezing out a high-viscosity liquid from a flexible plastic tube container includes a spool having a slot in which the bottom of the tube container is received and locked, and a container holder having a pair of opposed bearing portions frictionally and rotatably supporting thereon a body of the spool, and a pair of opposed engagement portions engageable with a body of the tube container as the tube container is wound on the spool body from the bottom thereof. When a rotational force or torque on the spool is released, the spool is urged to rotate in the reverse direction by a resilient force stored in a portion of the flexible plastic tube container wound on the spool body. However, partly due to a friction acting between the spool body and the bearing portions, and partly due to the engagement between one of the engagement portions and the tube container, the spool is held immovable relative to the container holder against the resilient force of the tube container.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 1995Date of Patent: August 19, 1997Assignee: Cemedine Co.
