Abstract: In many aspects, a system for a beverage dispenser can include smartcups and smartcup application management systems configured to validate and identify smartcups for dispensing a beverage. Identifying and validating the authenticity of smartcups as well as identifying registered consumers associated with smartcups may provide more secure beverage dispensers that may be placed in public with minimal oversight. Additionally, by identifying registered users associated with a registered smartcup and providing an individualized and streamlined consumer experience, consumer interactions can be improved with a beverage dispenser/provider and may lead to increased usage by consumers.

  • Patent number: 9999924
Abstract: This invention teaches a quality assurance system for additive manufacturing. This invention teaches a multi-sensor, real-time quality system including sensors, affiliated hardware, and data processing algorithms that are Lagrangian-Eulerian with respect to the reference frames of its associated input measurements. The quality system for Additive Manufacturing is capable of measuring true in-process state variables associated with an additive manufacturing process, i.e. those in-process variables that define a feasible process space within which the process is deemed nominal. The in-process state variables can also be correlated to the part structure or microstructure and can then be useful in identifying particular locations within the part likely to include defects.

Abstract: A method of testing a printed circuit board (PCB) with an in-circuit test (ICT) probe having an improved probe-to-via contact is provided. The ICT probe includes a tip attached to a spindle; a housing having a cavity, a portion of the spindle insertable into the cavity; and a heating element wrapped helically around the spindle, the heating element coupled to the housing. The probe is contacted with a surface of a flux layer of a test via of the PCB, said contact compressing the heating element and recessing the insertable portion of the spindle into the cavity. The tip of the probe is heated with the heating element to a temperature capable of at least partially melting the flux layer, the tip at least partially penetrating the flux layer to contact a surface of a solder plugging the test via.

Abstract: A pour spout, for attaching to a bottle, has a first wireless transceiver and a valve for selectively controlling flow of a beverage from the bottle. A server interface, adapted to be carried by a person who serves beverages, has a second wireless transceiver. A control unit is provided to wirelessly communicate with the second transceiver. In one mode, the pour spout transmits a spout identifier to the server interface, which responds by transmitting the spout identifier and a server identifier to the control unit. The control unit responds with a reply transmission causing the server interface to command the pour spout to open the valve. In another mode, a person selects a cocktail, that results in the control unit sending designations of a plurality of liquor ingredients to the server interface. The server interface controls dispensing each of the plurality of liquor ingredients.

  • Patent number: 9945373
Abstract: A pump may have a first chamber and a solenoid coil to control movement of a first valve member. A second chamber may have a second valve member to control fluid moving into a third chamber. A first fluid passageway may link the first and second chambers, a second passageway may link second and third chambers and a third passageway may link third and fourth chambers. After pressurizing the third chamber causing fluid to flow into and leave a fourth chamber, the third chamber depressurizes due to downward movement of a plunger. Upon depressurization with a solenoid coil energized, second valve member floats and then moves against a valve seat. While the second valve member is moving toward the valve seat, the solenoid coil is de-energized causing the first valve member to move and strike the second valve member when the second valve member is moving at maximum velocity.

Abstract: A dispensing system for dispensing an associated substantially viscous product includes a dispensing system housing and a first container. The first container is disposed within the dispensing system housing and has an elastically deformable wall defining a changeable volume for containing the associated product. The elastically deformable wall is expandable between an unexpanded state and an expanded state. The first container includes an outlet through which the associated product is expelled. Potential energy stored in the deformable wall in the expanded state is operable to expel the associated product from the first container through the outlet. The dispensing system includes a selectively engage-able valve operatively fluidly connected to the outlet for controlling the expulsion of a predetermined amount of the associated product from the outlet. An actuator is operatively coupled to the valve to selectively engage the valve.
