  • Patent number: 7284681
Abstract: A self-standing type bag-shaped vacuum container has a self-standing container including a wall formed of a soft sheet, a pouring port, and a check valve mounted in the pouring port. The check valve is opened to allow the migration of a content of the container when subjected to a pressure in the pouring direction, but is closed when subjected to a pressure in a filling direction, so that the inside of the container is evacuated. The self-standing container can be optimized for storing beverages or the like which are negatively effected by contact with air, because the content will be oxidized with the air. The vacuum type container will not lose its self-standing property even if the content is reduced, and can stand stably by itself.

  • Patent number: 7261221
Abstract: A disposable inverted dispensing system for distributing a fluid for use in a shower is disclosed. The dispensing system includes a removable hooking device that is attachable to a surface which is exposable to moist conditions. A hook integral to the removable hooking device extends from the hooking device on a side opposite the surface when the hooking device is attached to the surface. A deformable container for containing the fluid has an upper portion and a lower portion. The upper portion defines a through-hole through the container, and the lower portion forms a container mouth through which the fluid is flowable. A dispensing valve and/or a cap is disposed over the mouth of the container for controlling the flow of the fluid. The container is positionable on the hooking device with the hook extending through the through-hole formed by the upper portion of the container so that the container hangs down from the hooking device.

  • Patent number: 7258253
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for the precise dispensation of small volumes of liquids are presented. A fluid microdispenser comprises a liquid-filled tube, an actuator coupled to the tube, and a tip at one end of the tube. When the actuator applies an actuation pressure, a precise volume of liquid is ejected from the orifice of the tip. The orifice is manufactured to control the volume of liquid ejected by each actuation and, therefore, may have a diameter smaller than that of the liquid-filled tube. The invention comprises systems, methods, and devices so that the inner diameter of the liquid-filled tube is decreased (tapered) to that of the orifice so as to maximize transmission to the orifice of the pressure generated by the actuation stimulus. This enables the volume of liquid ejected by each stimulus to be reproducibly controlled by the amplitude of the actuation stimulus.

  • Patent number: 7219816
Abstract: A pre-filled disposable pipette (10) consisting of a hollow bulb (12) dimensioned to enclose a medicinal product. From a lower end (16) of the bulb (12) is attached sequentially a medicinal transfer tube (24) and a medication fill tube (32), from where the medicinal product is applied. Between a lower end (28) of the tube (24) and an upper end (34) of the tube (32) is formed a break-away notch (40). When the tube (24) or the tube (32) is rotated, the notch (40) is twisted and breaks-off, thus allowing the medicinal product to flow from the bulb (12) and be released from the tube (24). The pipette (10) includes a primary grasping tab (46) attached to an upper end (14) of the bulb (12); a secondary grasping tab (54) attached to each side of the tube (24); and a support tab (70) attached to each side of the tube (32). The invention also discloses several methods for sealing the lower tip (36) of the medication fill tube (32).

  • Patent number: 7036690
Abstract: The object of this invention is to provide a delaminated bottle, which has a base cup fitted tightly around the bottom cylinder of the container and in which a slit is opened easily for the introduction of outside air into the interspace between the outer layer and the inner layer. The container has a male screw on the outer wall of container bottom cylinder and the base cup has a female screw, which is disposed in the upper portion of the inner surface of cylindrical cup wall and is screwed on the container bottom cylinder. The base cup has also an upright pushing section disposed in the lower portion of the inner surface of the cylindrical cup wall, and this upright pushing section pushes up on the walled bottom plate so as to open a slit in the outer layer of the pinch-off portion when the base cup is engaged with the male screw. The dispenser includes a bottom-dispensing squeeze container with flow controlled by a pressure actuated, self-closing valve, and a base integrated into the container. The container is ergonomically shaped to provide a handgrip to allow gripping with either hand from any direction and to provide a natural location to grip and squeeze the container. The base threads onto the stand to support the container on a surface while preventing other elements, such as the valve, from contacting the surface and allowing for a liquid to be dispensed through the stand. An alternative embodiment is also provided that includes a sealing mechanism for transport of the dispenser.

  • Patent number: 6688497
Abstract: An apparatus and method for preparing a pH balanced saline solution and using the saline solution for rinsing tissue. The apparatus includes a container having flexible sidewalls and an opening for a removable cap. The cap has a rounded convex upper portion curving away from an opening at the cap's uppermost surface and has a conduit in the cap's interior, which conduit extends into the container when the apparatus is fully assembled or is connected to a tube that extends in the container. A saline solution is prepared by adding sodium chloride and sodium bicarbonate to distilled or boiled water. The sidewalls of the container are compressed to urge the saline solution through the conduit, or tube and conduit, and through the opening in the cap. The solution can be used to rinse tissue, such as a mucus membrane, eye tissue, skin or tissue inside an oral cavity.

Abstract: A closing member 3 is equipped with a dispensing valve 8 and a filter 7. The valve 8 is deformed resiliently to shift its valve head 82 downstream with its orifice 82a remaining closed if pressure less than a first predetermined pressure and more than a second predetermined pressure is acted on the inner surface of the valve head 82. The valve 8 returns to its original shape to shift the valve head 82 upstream with its orifice 82a remaining closed if the pressure is removed, thereby sucking fluid remaining within the passage 10 back to the upstream side of the filter 7. The closing member 3 has a supporter 31d that prevents the orifice 82a of the valve head 82 from opening when a negative pressure is generated in the bottle.

  • Patent number: 6357631
Abstract: The container has a varied sized substance body chamber with a channel at an exit end. This channel is sealed by a breakaway tab at an end distant form the chamber. Within the channel is a positive seal valve that can reseal the container after it has initially been opened. This valve is comprised of an upper wall of the channel being in a close contact with the lower wall. The lower wall usually will have a concave shape, with the upper wall contacting the lower wall with a mating convex shape. However this is not required with the channel having many differing shapes and dimensions. This valve can be separated from the substance holding body chamber by a portion of the channel, can be at the junction of the storing chamber and the channel or can be at the junction of the exit of the channel. When a compressive pressure is applied to the substance holding chamber, the substance flows down the channel to the valve.
