  • Patent number: 6375047
Abstract: A container for storing pasty or fluidic compositions and apportioned dispensing of the same. The container includes a container body with parallel inner walls; and a movable plunger element, which divides the container body into a compressed-air portion and a storage portion, intended for receiving the pasty or fluidic composition. The plunger can be displaced into the storage portion by introducing compressed air into the compressed-air portion. A compressed-air feed opening is provided, via which compressed air can be blown in from a supply element. A container cover is provided on the body. A dispensing opening is provided in the storage portion, from which the composition emerges, controlled by the amount of compressed air fed in.

Abstract: A method and an installation for dispensing a flowable material. The material (11) is contained in a sleeve 60 positioned in a container (12) underneath a follower plate (36). The follower plate (36) is moved into the container (12) and in the process the material (11) is dispensed via a conduit system. On its contour, the follower plate (36) has a sealing element (50) which can be displaced between a sealing position and a retracted position. In the sealing position this sealing element (50) rests against the inner container surface (16) and constitutes a sealing device. In the retracted position the sealing element (50) is spaced apart from the inner container wall (16) and, together with the latter, delimits an opening (50) for venting the space underneath the follower plate (36).

  • Patent number: 6019180
Abstract: A procedure is described for determining the power output of a downhole drilling motor, when the motor is inside the wellbore. The technique uses stand-pipe pressure and fluid flow rate as the main inputs. The power output of the motor is calculated by carrying out two low flow stall tests at flow rates lower than the drilling flow rate. These tests result in "off-bottom" and stall pressures at the two flow rates. Another off-bottom pressure is taken at the actual flow rate that will be used during drilling operations. From the use of the off-bottom and stall pressure measurements, a determination is made of the differential pressure across the motor and the stall pressure at the actual drilling fluid flow rate. A full power curve and a predicted operating stand-pipe pressure for optimal power generation are provided based on an experimentally verified assumption regarding the change in rotation rate of the motor versus the differential pressure across the motor power section.

  • Patent number: 5882691
Abstract: An automatic dry wall applicator having an applicator head connected to a translucent body with a quick release mechanism for easy cleaning and a gas spring dispensing system which moves a piston head in the body to dispense dry wall compound. A loading mechanism uses a manual pump which generates sufficient force to overcome the gas spring pressure to force dry wall compound from a reservoir into the head and body to retract the piston head during loading. The piston rod engages a cam brake which frees the rod during loading and locks the piston head from dispensing unless the cam is manually released from the rod. In one form of the invention, an on-off valve closes the applicator head during loading and can be opened to permit dispensing of dry wall compound.
