Material Passage Parallel To Axis Of Rotation Patents (Class 222/302)
  • Patent number: 8297477
Abstract: A dosing device for dispensing small-particulate pharmaceutical preparations has at least one chamber for receiving a larger amount of the preparation and a dosing unit. A rotary valve has at least one dosing chamber for receiving a defined dose of the preparation. The dosing chamber is moveable between a filling position and a dispensing position. The rotary valve rotates about a substantially horizontal axis, and has an adjustment device for setting the volume in the dosing chamber and a twisting device. The twisting device constitutes the actuator for the adjustment device. The device is made of a plastic material carefully selected to assure that no softening agents or other volatile components will be released, which prevents drug contamination.

  • Patent number: 4075726
Abstract: In a book binding apparatus, a book to be bound is clamped between a pair of plates, the distance between the clamps controlling the distance between a pair of groove bars engaging a cover to be bound to the book. A backup roll is positioned to engage the cover on the side opposite the groove bars, and to be movable along the cover to form grooves therein. A glue assembly is movable with the backup roll and includes a glue tube which is moved across the cover transversely of the direction of movement of the backup roll. The extent of transverse movement of the glue tube is controlled in response to the thickness of the book. A positive displacement pump supplies glue to the glue tube.

  • Patent number: 3960714
Abstract: A centrifugal separator is provided with a rotary distributor provided with a plurality of vertically spaced coaxial rotating disks, in which the upper rotating disk is of smaller diameter than the lower rotating disk. The distance between the disks may be adjustable. The lower disk baffles an updraft separating air current whereby powdered material is separated from the coarser material as centrifuged from the upper disk, and any material escaping the upper disk without being thrown thereby into the air stream drops down on the larger lower disk and is thrown into the air stream by the lower disk. Either or both of the disks may be provided with agitator vanes.
