  • Patent number: 7849891
Abstract: A device for measuring a hard granular object. The device includes a measuring vessel, a holder, a shutter, and a pressing means for pressing the holder against the measuring vessel. The measuring vessel includes a first face, a second face parallel to the first face, and a space formed between the first and second faces for receiving hard granular object supplied from first face side. The holder is located on the side of the first face., includes a through hole communicable with the space, and is slidable along the first face. The shutter is located on the side of the second face, includes a through hole communicable with the space, and is movable parallel to the second face.

  • Patent number: 5881925
Abstract: In the reciprocating pump P, the pressure chamber 30 is formed by an atomizing tube 15, a piston 28, and a cylinder 20. The pressure chamber 30 has a check valve 24 that opens and closes the inlet of the said pressure chamber 30 and a ball-shaped stirring material 25 moving freely in the pressure chamber 30 that stirs the mixture in the pressure chamber 30. On the other hand, pumping space is formed by the piston 28 and the cylinder 20 in the reciprocating pump P, apart from the pressure chamber 30. The pumping space 29 is occupied by the mixture pumped up when the push button 17 is returned to its home position and communicating holes are provided through which the mixture is discharged into the container 10 when the push button is pressed. The atomizer of an reciprocating pump type of the present invention can stir sufficiently and atomize a liquid-powder mixture when used.

  • Patent number: 5395227
Abstract: An adjustable powder flow gate for a rotary pellet press has a movable gate wherein one dimensional motion of the gate across an opening in a powder flow feed frame on the rotating turret of the press is effected with a rotatable shaft having a screw connection to a member attached to the gate. The shaft is maintained in a selected rotational position with a bias member that is movable between an engaged and a disengaged position. The bias member is adapted to engage a selected detent on a member attached to the shaft having several circumferentially spaced detents when the bias member is in the engaged position. The shaft can freely rotate when the bias member is in the disengaged position. An operator can easily adjust the size of the opening by first disengaging the bias member from the selected detent, turning the shaft to move the gate to the desired position, and then engaging the bias member into a newly selected detent.

  • Patent number: 4880150
Abstract: A filling machine for repeatedly dispensing predetermined amounts of particulate material comprises a stationary hopper having two spaced-apart spouts; a motor-driven horizontally rotatable upper plate beneath the spouts and having four groups of receiving holes therethrough and a stationary bottom plate beneath the upper plate and having two groups of dispensing holes therethrough. As the upper plate is rotatably driven, the receiving holes align with the spouts, are filled with material, and then align with the dispensing holes through which the material then falls. A sweeper member above the upper plate directs excess material accumulated on the upper plate into emptied receiving holes approaching a spout. A weighted sleeve on each spout slidably engages the upper plate to inhibit material leakage. Each group of receiving holes has a cup plate on the underside of the upper plate with apertures in registery with the receiving holes and slidably engageable with extension tubes from the receiving holes.

  • Patent number: 4793511
Abstract: In a seed meter in which individual seeds from a seed mass within a first chamber on a first side of a seed disk rotatably mounted within a housing are transported by at least one circumferential row of apertures within the seed disk to a separate seed discharge area within the first chamber by the reduced pressure of a vacuum source coupled to a second chamber within the housing and on the opposite side of the seed disk from the first chamber, a brush and wiper arrangement mounted within a third chamber within and sealed from the second chamber and located opposite the seed discharge area bears against the second side of the seed disk to aid in dislodging and expelling debris from the apertures in the seed disk. The brush and wiper arrangement includes at least one circular brush rotatably mounted within the third chamber and a spring arrangement for biasing the circular brush and an adjacent circular band against the second surface of the seed disk at the at least one row of apertures.

  • Patent number: 4407436
Abstract: A metering and/or feeding device for materials is disclosed. A plurality of vertically oriented, elastic-walled tubes are arranged at equal distances from the axis of a rotatable helical rod which, as it rotates, sequentially engages and constricts each of the elastic-walled tubes, beginning at their upper portions and progressively moving down the length of the tubes. The material being metered and/or fed is introduced into the elastic-walled tubes at their upper ends. A cover member is provided to cover the infeed ends of the tubes at selected intervals to prevent entry of the material being fed and/or metered into the tube at the time that the helical member engages the upper portion of the tube to constrict the tube so that it is substantially free of material. A plenum, through which a stream of pressurized gas is discharged, communicates with the discharge ends of each of the tubes, the gas conveying the material entering the plenum from the tubes to a work location.

  • Patent number: 4376601
Abstract: A device for conveying measured amounts of material which includes a rotating induction wheel having a plurality of elongate open-ended chambers defined therein and a pair of wipers arranged to remove excess material from the chamber ends. Brackets seal the chambers, and gas is introduced into the chambers to pulse the material out of the chambers into a material transport conduit. Metered charges of material are thus delivered to the transport conduit. The wipers are integral with the brackets.

  • Patent number: 4157148
Abstract: A multiple compartment feed frame for supplying powder to the dies of a tableting machine, wherein a relief opening is provided in the leading compartment to permit excess powder to escape therefrom and be subsequently introduced either into a trailing compartment or collected and re-introduced into the leading compartment, whereby the level of powder in the leading compartment is maintained substantially constant in spite of fluctuations in the supply of powder thereto.
