The bulk food dispenser includes a hopper, a feed house including two or more openings, and a feed wheel located within the feed house, where the feed wheel further includes a plurality of protrusions for directing a solid material out of the hopper when the feed wheel is rotated mechanically via a motor, where at least one of the two or more openings receive the solid material directed by a baffle, and where at least one of the two or more openings dispense the solid material out of the feed house.

The metering assembly includes a body chamber with a bottom, a top and a cylindrical wall. A driven shaft, journaled in the top wall, extends into the chamber. A rotor is fixed to the drive shaft in the chamber. Pluralities of elongated slots pass through the rotor. Discharge bores pass through a body bottom wall. Each discharge bore includes a counter bore that receives a resilient O-ring and a graphite tube. A top end of the tube engages the rotor on both sides of the elongated slot. The compressed O-ring holds the tube top in engagement with the rotor.

A limit stop restricts the displacement of the closure shaft along its central longitudinal axis. In the feeder chute, an opposing stop defines the closed position where the limit stop rests in direct contact against the opposing stop and the outlet opening is closed off by the closure portion of the closure element.

A drive mechanism with a stepwise pivoting action is operable to move one dispensing compartment at a time to the discharge opening. The lower surface of each vane has a leading edge which contacts the container bottom, and there is a rake space between this lower surface and the bottom of the container. The wiper extends up to intersect the container wall at an acute angle to prevent the goods from rotating with the rotor.
