  • Patent number: 11161662
Abstract: An apparatus for capping the tip of the nozzle of a caulking tube retained in a caulking gun to prevent the caulking tube from leaking caulking material such as latex or silicone during non-use. The apparatus has a cap portion, a housing portion, and a retractable flexible cord to provide a retractable cap to be used with the caulking tube placed in a caulking gun to prevent leakage when the caulking gun and caulking tube are not in use. The housing contains a retraction member which is placed under force when the cap is pulled away from the retraction member and placed over the tip of the caulking tube nozzle. When the cap is removed from the caulking tube nozzle, the tension from the retraction member causes the flexible cord to pull the cap to a location adjacent the housing so that the cap can be easily retrieved and not lost.

  • Patent number: 8376183
Abstract: A fluid dispenser for containing multiple portions of flowable material in multiple chambers separated by dividers includes a dispensing passageway at one of the chambers, with each divider having an openable region to permit flow of fluid from an adjacent chamber into the chamber having the dispensing passageway so that only a selected portion of flowable material may be expunged from the container at a time, without all of the contents reaching the dispensing passageway until such time as it is desired. The user may select the quantity of material to be dispensed and may squeeze the chamber or chambers to break or open the desired or appropriate number of dividers to dispense the desired or appropriate quantity of flowable material through the dispensing passageway of the container. Optionally, each chamber may have a respective dispensing passageway that is openable to dispense the contents of the respective chamber.

Abstract: The invention relates to a spill proof self-closing flow control device (SCFCD) with adjustable actuator element for flexible or rigid containers with fluids. The SCFCD comprises a spout, a flexible valve-retaining element and a container closure element. The valve-retaining element is a one-part component consisting of an actuator element, a cylindrical valve holder and a valve for alternately opening and closing the flow-through orifice. In the various embodiments two or three pressure chambers are formed with pressures P1, P2 and P3 controlling the flow control device, separated by the valve-retaining element. In a first, second and fourth embodiments the actuator element is configured to move in the downstream direction by an under pressure in the first chamber thereby bringing the valve in the open position, while in a third embodiment, the actuator element opens the valve in the upstream direction.
