  • Patent number: 4432475
Abstract: A processor of photosensitive material having a plurality of tanks for containing fluids, one of which is a wash tank for containing wash water, and a top cover, including a movable front portion for covering the tanks when the processor is in operation is provided with a spring-loaded valve for controlling draining of wash water from the wash tank. The spring-loaded valve includes a U-shaped spring attached to the top of the wash tank. Connected to the spring is a plunger which extends vertically down into the drain hole. The plunger is equipped with a gasket for sealing the drain hole when the cover is in its lowered closed position. The spring has an adjustable striker extending upward to contact the bottom of the processor cover. When the processor cover is in its normal operating position, the striker is depressed and the spring is compressed. This seals the gasket against the bottom of the tank and prevents draining.

  • Patent number: 4353487
Abstract: A receptacle for dosifying granulated, pulverulent or liquid products includes a product containing receptacle and a hollow cover which houses a solid closure member normally spring urged to a closed position. By inverting the receptacle and imparting a shaking motion to it, the solid closure member moves away from its closed position against the tension of the spring to an open position thus permitting measured amounts of the product to be dispensed as continued opening and closing of the closure member occurs relative to the motion imparted to the receptacle by the user. The inner portion of the solid closure member is preferably provided with at least one annular recess which receives the product when the receptacle is inverted and aids in dispensing a given quantity thereof. The retraction of the solid closure member by the spring causes it to forcibly engage the adjacent edge of the hollow cover, thus breaking up any lumps of the product which may be present at the discharge opening.

  • Patent number: 4303173

This cover includes a valve assembly to close off an opening in the top of the cover to prevent spilling or splashing of either hot or cold beverages from the receptacle. The valve assembly in turn includes a valve head biased against the opening in the cover by resilient integral supporting arms secured to the underside of the cover. An actuating member passes into one side of the cover at a point spaced 90.degree. from the opening, this point being generally vertically above the lateral handle on the receptacle. With this arrangement, a person can hold the handle of the receptacle in the manner of a mug using the thumb to depress the actuating member inwardly which action moves the valve head away from the opening in the cover to permit drinking of the beverage in the receptacle.
