  • Patent number: 6041983
Abstract: This invention is directed generally to garment hangers of the type on which information clips may be locked, and, in particular, to garment hangers adapted to receive such a locking information clip so that its removal is prevented or strongly inhibited, and to the locking information clips themselves.According to aspects of the present invention the information clip not only resiliently engages a ledge adjacent the edge of the clip holder, but in addition is provided to discourage or prevent moving the clip side walls apart to disengage the clip from the ledge. In certain forms of the invention, further assurance of non-removability is provided by engaging edges of the clip with engagement elements on the clip holder, without interfering with use of conventional molding for producing the hanger. In other forms of the invention, other arrangements are provided to retain the clip on the hanger by strongly inhibiting lifting one or both side walls of the clip by use of fingers or finger nails.

  • Patent number: 6039225
Abstract: An unused hanger indicator system. The unused hanger indicator system, comprises; a structural support point, a hanger suspended from the structural support point and adapted to receive an article, and a weight coupled to the hanger wherein the weight is coupled to the hanger at a point distant from a center of gravity of the hanger. The affect of the weight coupled to the hanger at a point distant from the center of gravity is to cause an end of a hanger so equipped with the weight to tilt the end of the hanger opposite from the weighted end up when the hanger is not constrained to remain level due to the mass of an article hung upon the hanger.

  • Patent number: 6036064
Abstract: A hanger for garments and accessories includes a garment supporting member which defines a predetermined direction for supporting a garment when the predetermined direction is positioned along a predetermined orientation. An attachment member, typically in the form of a hook, is used for attaching the garment supporting member to a support structure and maintaining the predetermined direction substantially along the predetermined orientation. An accessory attachment device, in the form of an elongate plastic tie having two transverse tabs or stops at the ends, is used for substantially fixedly attaching at least one accessory to at least one of the members. Said accessory attachment device is frangible to normally reliably and permanently secure garment accessory to the hanger until the accessory attachment device is physically compromised.

  • Patent number: 6032838
Abstract: An apparatus for displaying information related to the weight of an article of clothing including a hanger-shaped frame and a scale for measuring the weight of an article of clothing disposed on the frame is disclosed. The apparatus may preferably include a visual indicator, such as a pointer and indicia, for displaying information to a viewer relating to the weight of the article of clothing, as desired. The scale may preferably be disposed within the frame and may be functionally connected to the frame such that the pointer moves within a slot in the frame as the scale measures the weight of the article of clothing. The indicia may be provided adjacent the slot to provide the viewer with visual information relating to the weight of the clothing as the pointer moves. In one embodiment, the scale may be calibrated within a predetermined range of weights where the indicia reflects more favorable attributes for a lighter range of clothing.
