With Clamp Patents (Class 223/91)
  • Patent number: 5621955
Abstract: A clamp made of plastic for clamping sheet-like objects. To easily clamp objects manually over the longest possible clamping line with the strongest possible clamping force, the present invention provides two mounting sites for two clamping levers. The mounting sites are parallel to the clamping line, are located at spaced locations from one another, and are connected to one another in an articulated manner. A U-shaped spring includes legs which are spring-tensioned against the clamping jaws of the clamping levers.

  • Patent number: 5595331
Abstract: A clamping coat hanger has a main clamping member with an upper and a lower end, wherein the upper end has a hook for suspending the coat hanger and the lower end has first clamping ribs. A first clamping member has an upper and a lower end wherein the lower end has second clamping ribs and the upper end has a first pressure application location. The main clamping member and the first clamping member are pivotably connected to one another in the area between the upper and the lower ends thereof. The main clamping member and the first clamping member have cooperating pivot members. The cooperating pivot members are pivotable about a pivot axis parallel to a longitudinal extension of the clamping ribs. The pivot members engage behind one another by transversely intersecting the pivot axis.

  • Patent number: 5402558
Abstract: A resilient clip or spring clip is disclosed which has a pair of jaw members and a generally U-shaped biasing member for connecting the jaws together and for biasing the jaws into a closed position. The biasing member has a pair of legs connected by a curvilinear central portion and a curvilinear support portion interior thereof. The central portion and support portion are connected by a bridge-like member, and define a channel therebetween. The sidewall of each jaw member has a closed sidewall extending along a substantial portion thereof and defines an arcuate surface. During actuation of the clip, the sidewall traverses through the channel in the biasing member, while the support portion defines and serves as a fulcrum for rotation of the jaws between the open and the closed positions, independently of any separate support member.

  • Patent number: 5361948
Abstract: A garment hanger includes an elongated, generally planar body having opposite ends and front and rear surfaces. A clamp is joined adjacent each end of the body with the body defining a wing which extends beyond the clamp. Each clamp includes first and second clamp members hingedly joined to the body adjacent an upper edge thereof. Each clamp member defines a clamping surface which is moveable in an opposed, generally abutting relationship with the clamp members overlying the front and rear surfaces of the body. A support hook is joined to the body intermediate the ends thereof. The garment hanger body is insertable inside the waistband of a pair of slacks, a skirt or the like. The clamp members are moved to a closed position engaging front and back surfaces of the garment. In use, only the front and back clamp members and the support hook are visible, and the hanger does not detract from the visual presentation of the garment.

  • Patent number: 5178306
Abstract: A plastic hanger having clips located at opposite ends of the hanger is described. Each clip comprises grip plates hingedly joined to each other, which grip plates can be forced together to clamp a garment therebetween. To generate the clamping action of the grip plates, the hanger provides cuneiform members formed on the grip plate that can be wedged into an angular recess to close the grip plates together. Teeth are provided on the cuneiform members and along an interior surface of the angular recess to lock the two together and hold the cuneiform member deeply wedged inside the angular recess. Pushing down on the grip plate takes the teeth out of engagement, and accordingly, the cuneiform member can be unwedged and retracted from the angular recess to release the garment. As an option, thumb rests can be added to the grip plates for better leverage. Stubbles can be incorporated into contact surfaces of the grip plates for more contact with the garment.

One jaw has a pair of integral latch members extending toward the other jaw. The latch members are spaced apart lengthwise of the jaws and are designed to engage spaced keepers on the other jaw. The length and spacing of the latch members is such that when the latch member and keeper furthest from the top are engaged the jaws are held in article clamping position. When the other latch and keeper combination are engaged, the jaws are held in an open position sufficient to release an article but the clamp is still retained on the rod.

Abstract: A garment carrier which is particularly suited for holding scarves, mufflers, gloves and the like. The garment carrier of the present invention includes a hanger adapted to be hung on a conventional closet bar. At least one set of rings having a plurality of different size rings are secured to each other so that the rings increase in diameter from one end and to the other end of the set. The smallest ring is then attached to the hanger so that the set of rings depends downwardly from the hanger. Each ring forms an opening which is designed to receive a garment, such as a scarf, muffler or the like therethrough. In addition, preferably spring loaded clips are also secured to and depend downwardly from the hanger and are adapted to hold gloves, hats and the like.

Abstract: A unitary molded-plastic hanger is intended for multiple purposes. The hanger includes: (1) a frame or body portion adapted for holding a coat, etc.; (2) a lower horizontal cross bar provided with slidably adjustable pegs for holding trousers; (3) a pair of L-shaped molded brackets within the frame, the brackets having laterally-extending upturned ends disposed above the cross bar for holding a shirt or the like; (4) and a molded bracket integrally joined with one of the L-shaped brackets and disposed substantially centrally of the frame for holding ties. The hanger has a pair of V-shaped diametrically-opposed slots formed therein continuously thereof, and the pegs on the cross bar have respective opposed teeth engaged in the V-shaped slots, respectively, thereby precluding substantial relation of the pegs relative to the cross bar.

Abstract: A device for the presentation of textile products and the like comprises an upper bar (1) provided with a suspension hook (2) and a lower bar (7) suitable for holding an item to be presented. The bars are connected together at their two ends, leaving between them a passage for the item. The lower bar is an elastic arc with an upper side which is suitable for holding the item, and which is convex towards the lower side of the upper bar. The lower bar thus tends to press itself against the center of the lower side of the upper bar to lock the item between the two bars.

  • Patent number: 4363430
Abstract: Apparatus having a pair of arms that are oppositely directed and which are adapted to suspend a garment includes a hook that is located intermediate the free ends of the arms for suspending the hanger and garment from a rail. In one embodiment, a bar that is substantially rigid and inflexible has one end secured to the hook and extends downwardly therefrom. Another embodiment includes a crossmember that joins the free end of the arms and the secured end of the bar is swingably attached to the crossmember. A further embodiment retains the bar in a swingably captive position on the crossmember. In still another embodiment, the arms, crossmember, hook and bar comprise an integral, unitary structure that is more simple to construct. The bar in each embodiment has a smooth, regular surface to prevent snagging the garment and it is sufficiently long to prevent rolling up the hanger and garment into a small size which otherwise would facilitate its theft.
