Abstract: The presently disclosed subject matter is generally directed to a holster system that allows for quick and secure release of a weapon, while also allowing attachment to a wide variety of connectors. The holster system comprises a frame that interacts with and safeguards a weapon (e.g., a gun). The frame includes a fastener band that acts as a trigger guard and releasably secures the weapon to the holster. The frame further includes a barrel plug that acts as a vertical rest and stabilizer when the weapon is holstered, keeping the weapon secured. The frame cooperates with a spacer to allow attachment to a wide variety of connectors. The holster system enables the weapon to be securely maintained when not in use, yet available if needed by the user. The holster can be configured with an ambidextrous feature, allowing both left-hand and right-hand weapon draws.

Abstract: An item carrying system incorporates a circumferentially adjustable waist band assembly having a pair of pouches adjustably positionable on either side of the waist band. Each pouch has a plurality of pockets and storage spaces. Each pouch also comprises a solar panel in electric communication with at least one charging port. The entire system is waterproof and buoyant.

Abstract: The fetal communication system comprises a belt unit and a headset. The headset comprises a microphone that picks up audible sounds and transmits them to the belt unit. By way of example and not of limitation, the audible sounds may be a pregnant woman speaking to her unborn child, music, or educational programs. The belt unit holds a sound transducer in place over the pregnant woman's abdomen via a belt strap that passed around her midsection. A circuit in the belt unit receives the wireless signal sent by the headset, amplifies the audio portion of the signal, and passes the audio signal to the sound transducer. The audible sounds played by the sound transducer may pass through the abdomen to the fetus.

Abstract: An EEG kit can be thought of as “EEG In a Bag” (“EEG-IAB”). The EEG kit can provide a complete, disposable, fast, and easily-used platform to record EEG to measure brain activity. Other physiological information (e.g., oxygen saturation, ECG or EKG, etc.) or other information (e.g., local electrode motion) can also be recorded, such as in time-concordance with the recorded EEG signals. The recorded EEG and other information can be uplinked to a local or remote user interface. A local or remote neurologist can use the EEG information to render a diagnosis in tens of minutes, wherein such information can currently be unavailable, or can require a number of hours to obtain and diagnose. The EEG kit can be very convenient, and can be used in a hospital emergency department (ED), an intensive care unit (ICU), by a first responder, or can be deployed for emergency or disaster preparedness.

The RSM incorporates drainage paths (110) to prevent moisture from collecting around the movable paddle (104). An internal speaker (502) is retained within the RSM (100) in a stationary manner with sufficient front and back volumes impervious to the actuations of the movable paddle (104). The movable paddle (104) provides improved tactile feedback over a large surface.

Abstract: Holders usable to secure a firearm include a first plate, a second plate extending from the first plate at a first angle, and an insertable member extending from the second plate at a second angle. The insertable member is adapted for insertion into the barrel of the firearm to stabilize the firearm against lateral movement. Friction between the firearm and the first plate, a trigger guard engaged with the holder, or combinations thereof can stabilize the firearm against vertical movement. Such friction can be created using application of a lateral force against the interior of the firearm barrel using the insertable member, application of a lateral force against the exterior of the firearm using a trigger guard, use of a protruding, compressible, or frictional surface on the first plate, or combinations thereof.

Abstract: A tool pouch for securing articles therein having a pivotally attached rotatable cover. The tool pouch allows a user to insert tools and accessories within a cavity, or pocket, of the tool pouch and secure the tools and accessories therein with a cover. In a closed position, flexible portions of the cover bend around the top of the side panels to hold the cover secure. When the cover is moved to an opened position, the flexible portions of the cover negotiate over the corners allowing the cover to be moved. In the second position, the flexible portions of the cover bend around the sides of the front panel and hold the cover secure. The cover may be readily operable and, in some implementations, can reside in the opened and/or closed position even if the tool pouch is radically reoriented. The cover also may allow easy access to the stored items when in the opened position.

Abstract: A reversible attachment device comprises a reversible hanger having a piece of hook material on a first side and a piece of loop material on a second side and may optionally be assembled with either side facing an accessory holder. Embodiments of a reversible attachment stabilize and distribute loads from objects in accessory holders. By selecting which side of the reversible hanger faces the accessory adapter, an accessory holder may be suspended from a load-carrying structure having either loop material or hook material. In some embodiments, the hook material and loop material are formed into a sleeve which fits slidably around the reversible hanger. Alternative assembly configurations for an embodiment provide for a range of height adjustment between an accessory holder and a load-carrying structure. Some embodiments include an accessory holder with a reversible attachment device. Other embodiments include a duty belt or other load-carrying structure.

Abstract: An architecture is presented that provides a pouch assembly that provides a convenient place to secure various items picked up while cleaning. The pouch assembly comprises a pouch comprising a front panel, a back panel opposite the front panel, opposing side panels, and an open top. The opposing side panels are secured to the corners and bottom of the front panel and back panel to create a triangular shape and to form a pouch with a semi-circular opening at the top. The pouch assembly further comprises a waist belt for connecting the pouch to a user and for positioning the open top proximate a user's waist. The waist belt can be extensions of the back panel or secured to the pouch via at least one belt loop which runs the entire width of the top of the pouch and is formed from the back panel being folded over.

Abstract: A sheath for a knife is ventilated or is formed with gaps in a way that sand and other debris cannot collect to dull the knife's blade. The sheath holds the knife, protects and safely covers the sharp edge, but does not provide a surface for abrasive sand to dull the edge. The spacers can be rounded to as to minimize contact between the spacers and the blade of the knife.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a spare magazine carrier for securing at least one magazine on a user's belt. The carrier includes at least one pocket for receiving the magazine and a pivotal cover atop the pocket for retaining the magazine therein. The cover normally extends over the top of the pocket and prevents withdrawal of the magazine and can be rotated to the side of the pocket to allow withdrawal of the magazine from the pocket. The cover is pivotally attached to the pocket with a frictional hinge in order to prevent inadvertent cover movement and thus inadvertent magazine removal.

Abstract: An accessory system has one or more accessory elements which are removably attachable to a waist belt. A loop is fastened to the rear wall of each accessory element to define a passage between the rear wall and the loop which extends generally perpendicularly to the direction of the belt. A first part of a two-part fastener such as a snap is attached to an exterior surface of the loop. A strap is fastened to the accessory element rear wall spaced from the loop. A second part of the two-part fastener is configured to mate with the first part of the two-part fastener. The second part is fixed to the strap, so the strap is capable of passing through the loop, and around the loop to bring the first part and the second part of the fastener into engagement to retain the belt between the strap and the accessory rear wall.

Abstract: A utility pocket is shown for use with a tool pouch or bag, or with such items as a brief case, soft sided cooler, or a backpack. The utility pocket has a clam shell shaped outer member which is biased toward an associated sidewall panel by means of elastic webbing. A pair of mating permanent magnets come into contact as the pocket moves from the open position to the closed position and help to bias the pocket to the closed position, as well as imparting a snap-closure action to the pocket. The material chosen for the pocket helps it to retain its clam shell shape without requiring internal reinforcing members, such as wire springs or other metal reinforcing elements.

The case is supported by a selectively bendable stand which may be altered in any variety of positions to provide a support for the case and associated electronic equipment. The case may also include an elastic cord element to removably interconnect the electronic device on an exterior surface of the case during use.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a load bearing apparatus, and more particularly, to a passive exoskeleton whereby a load may be placed on the passive exoskeleton and thereby transfer weight of the load from the passive exoskeleton to a ground surface. The passive exoskeleton comprises a rigid body member for attaching proximate a portion of a user's body, a sliding rod attached with the body member, and a ground surface engage-able foot analog attached with the sliding rod. When a user places a load on the body member, weight of the load from is transferred from the body member, through the sliding rod, and into the foot analog, causing the passive exoskeleton to support at least a portion of the load.

Abstract: The invention is a user-wearable caddy for carrying and dispensing a number of paintball supply tubes, known as pods, designed to be worn on the back of a paintball game participant. The invention carries multiple pods in a horizontal orientation on the wearer's back using elastic bands to grip the pods yet allow them to be removed from the pack. Vertically oriented guides enable elastic loops securing the pods to the pack to move vertically. As the player removes the lower-most pod from the pack, the pods above will descend along the guides, by the influence of gravity and by tension from an elastic band stretched from the top-most elastic loop to the bottom of the caddy structure, so that the next full pod will be positioned in approximately the same location as the previous pod. The invention enables the player to reach around to the same location each time to obtain a full pod, reducing the time needed to reload the paintball marker.

Abstract: A backpack system comprised of a main pack, belt and shoulder harness system to equally distribute weight with the ability to quickly detach the main pack by the removal of a rod that traverses interlocking loops attached to the main pack and belt. Attached to the main pack is a top strap that secures the top of the main pack, passes through an opening in a shoulder bracket on the shoulder harness and is accepted by a space in the center of the belt loops wherein a rod is passed through loops from main pack, belt, and the top strap loop in order to hold the main pack to the belt and shoulder harness. A further inventive feature is a relief built into the main pack to fit over a fire shelter that can be attached to the belt and is to remain on the belt after detachment of main pack.

A second part of the two-part fastener is configured to mate with the first part of the two-part fastener. The second part is fixed to the strap, so the strap is capable of passing through the loop, and around the loop to bring the first part and the second part of the fastener into engagement to retain the belt between the strap and the accessory rear wall.

Abstract: A system for carrying articles on a user's belt, comprising a belt (10) having multiple loops (22) on its outside surface and an article carrier (1) having a sleeve (40) sewn to the body of the carrier at a first end (42) and detachably connected to the body of the carrier at a second end (44). A stiff tab (60) is sewn at one end thereof into the sewn connection of the body of the carrier to the sleeve. The other end of the tab (64) is unattached and overlapped by the sleeve when the sleeve is wrapped around the belt for supporting the carrier from the belt. The carrier can be moved along the belt and placed in different positions unless the free end of the tab is inserted through a loop on the belt in which case the carrier will be fixed in position with respect to the belt.

Abstract: The invention comprises a cordless power tool that has a power umbilical in the form of a coiled cord that connects the power tool to a power source, which in the preferred embodiment is a battery pack. In contrast to prior art approaches, the invention integrates the power tool with the power source in a holstered arrangement. Provision is also made for operating the power tool from an AC source while the batteries are being charged, in the event the battery charge is depleted during use. In this way, the tool is operable at all times because the tool is logically and readily integrated with the power source. Further, the removal from the power source from the tool itself by means of the coiled cord umbilical means that the power tool is lighter and easier to handle.

Abstract: A tool pouch for holding nails, fasteners and other items has a front section and a back section forming a pocket defining an open cavity. A magnetic assembly is attached to the pocket front section, and a second magnetic assembly is attached to the pocket back section. The magnetic assemblies are aligned such that the first magnetic assembly repels the second magnetic assembly. The positioning and the magnetic strength of the first and second magnetic assemblies are sufficient to bias the opening of the first pocket toward an open position.

Abstract: A belt comprising an exterior layer having at least a portion thereof fabricated from an elastic material. A honeycomb structure sized and configured to receive a plurality of paintball pods is attached to an inner surface of the exterior layer. The honey comb structure is disposed between the exterior layer and the waist of the user when the belt is worn by the user. When paintball pods are removed or inserted into the honeycomb structure, the elastic portion of the exterior layer expands or contracts accordingly such that pressure is applied on the paintball pods against the lower body of the user so as to securely hold the paintball pods against the body of the user.

Abstract: A holder removably attachable to belts for removably retaining gloves and other items is composed of a substantially flexible strap with hook and loop material fixedly attached along at least a portion of each side for a predetermined distance. Abstract: A device for packaging at least one disc-shaped item together with other materials comprising a pair of complementary container elements attached by means of an interlocking mechanism such as a hinge, such that said complementary container elements are in a mating top and bottom configuration. The container has an open position in which the complementary container elements are separated, and a closed position in which the complementary container elements engaged each other and cooperate to form a cavity therebetween. The container elements include means for retaining the container in a closed position such that the chamber formed thereby is relatively insulated.
