Mounted above the base is an endless conveyer belt which runs between a motor-driven roller adjacent the paper roll and an idler roller adjacent the front end of the base. When the motor is energized, the belt then draws paper strip from the roll along the belt to a length depending on the time period during which the motor is energized. A tear-off blade above the belt and adjacent the roll permits the length of paper strip lying in the belt to be torn off to provide a note paper sheet of the desired length that can be written on and then temporarily adhered to a document or other object.

  • Patent number: 5860578
Abstract: A paper dispenser with a rear part fastenable to a wall on which a paper roll is supported and with a front part articulated closed over the rear part. A roller around which the dispensing paper is wrapped such that rotation of that roller moves the paper off the paper roll. A base part supported on the front part of the dispenser at the roller defines a slot with the roller through which the paper passes. A knife supported on the base part cuts the paper as it is pulled out of the dispenser. A pinion on the roller is rotated by a rack that is supported on the frame and that is movable by a lever projecting out of the front part, such that movement of the lever moves the rack to move the pinion to move the roller to move paper off the roll and dispense it.

  • Patent number: 5370916
Abstract: The invention provides a longitudinally extending adhesive tape product adapted to be cut off into a plurality of tape segments by use of a transverse cutting edge. The product comprises a longitudinally extending tape wound into a roll, the tape having a first side which is adhesive free, a plurality of longitudinally separated indicia and a second side which has a corresponding plurality of longitudinally separated and transversely extending coating bands of pressure sensitive adhesive. The coating bands have leading and trailing edges and are separated by portions of the second side of the tape which are substantially adhesive free. The indicia are so located relative to the coating bands whereby when one of the indicia is aligned in a specified relation to the cutting edge and a tape segment is cut off, the cut off tape segment has a single one of the coating bands and the coating band on the cut off tape segment is located adjacent a transverse edge of the tape segment.

Abstract: A definite length dispensing apparatus for dispensing thin adhesive tape includes a rotatable feed mechanism, a drive assembly and a rotatable stripper mechanism. The feed mechanism includes a plurality of spaced feed discs that are configured to remove a continuous strip of adhesive tape from the supply of adhesive tape. The drive assembly includes a manually operated lever arm which is coupled to the feed mechanism through a gear assembly. The drive assembly drives the feed mechanism. The stripper mechanism is positioned adjacent to the feed mechanism. The stripper mechanism includes a plurality of spaced stripper discs, with each stripper disc having a peripheral edge defined by alternating curved and straight edge sections. Adjoining stripper discs are rotated relative to one another such that a curved section of one stripper disc is adjacent to the straight section of an adjacent stripper disc. There are multiple feed discs for every one stripper disc.

  • Patent number: 4790490
Abstract: Described is a device designed to dispense tissue paper or cloth web by a self-locking dispenser system. The dispenser system consists of a release mechanism which is activated by hands-on mechanical or hands-free electo-mechanical means. The gear train in the dispenser mechanism is connected to the tissue or towel roll axle and thus regulates the motion of the roll. The dispensing system, in activated mode, allows free passage of the tissue or towel web out of the dispenser through an opening in the dispenser housing but, in the released position, itself locks up the tissue or towel web in this opening with a tight prong device thus prohibiting the web from further movement. This is accomplished without locking up the roll axle. The whole system including the roll is installed inside an air-tight housing which allows usage of dry as well as moistened tissue or towel. The dispenser housing is provided with a movable, transparent front cover to provide visibility to the extent of roll usuage.
