After the pair of geared rolls are rotated, the golf ball is placed on the upstream side of rotation of the geared rolls, so that part of the cover of the golf ball is bitten between the geared rolls. The cover bitten between the geared rolls is advanced by a rotational force of the geared rolls and is drawn out to the downstream side of rotation of the geared rolls. In this way, the core and cover of the golf ball are separated from each other. Accordingly, the cover can be mechanically removed from the golf ball with improved efficiency, so that the efficiency of work for recycling golf balls can be improved, and the amount of golf balls disposed as industrial waste can be reduced.

The cylinder is on a carriage that is movable from over the cutting head to over the tire conveyor for picking up tires to bring them over the cutting head for separating.

    Abstract: A deckle-edge-simulating apparatus generally comprising a conveyor system for transporting a web of paper through the apparatus, and a novel deckle-edge-simulating assembly operatively associated with the conveyor system. The deckle-edge-simulating assembly generally includes a configured transport roller or anvil in association with a deckling fixture. The anvil is disposed beneath the web of paper, and includes one or more circumferential grooves in its surface. The deckling fixture includes a blunt-edged blade extending from and between a pair of nip forming rollers disposed on either side of the blade, and into one of the grooves of an anvil. As the web of paper passes across the anvil, the blunt-edged blade operates to burst the fibers of the paper to create a simulated deckled edge. The nip forming rollers serve to firmly hold the web of paper in position during this deckling procedure.

    Abstract: A paper transfer feed separator automatically separates paper-drive edge tear strips from paper forms along perforations. The paper transfer feed separator may be hand-held and motor driven for removing the paper drive edge tear strips after the paper form is removed from a printer, or the like, or incorporated into a printer so that separation of the edge strips occurs simultaneously with printing on the paper. The frame of the separator causes a divergence in the paths of the body of the form and the edge paper strip to cause separation thereby, eliminating the need for knife blades or other elements requiring maintenance.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for segmenting groove molded building boards. In a preferred embodiment, a sheet of groove molded board is conveyed onto a first apparatus which separates the side edge trim scrap from the board. The board then passes onto a segmenting apparatus comprising a first horizontal conveyor, an inclined conveyor, a second generally horizontal conveyor, and adjustably mounted roller assemblies. The first apparatus removes the side-edge trim scrap from the board and the second segmenting apparatus breaks the groove molded board transversely along the groove molded lines. In addition, the second apparatus separates the leading and trailing edge scrap so as to provide individual board panels which require no additional trimming. As an alternative, two segmenting conveyors can be used in tandem so as to remove all of the scrap, thereby obviating the need for the first trim-scrap removing apparatus.

    Abstract: An overhead unit used with a printer having a platen for feeding continuous, fan-folded, edge perforated forms. Tractors engage the feed perforations on the forms. The unit automatically bursts the side perforations by the use of flexural members which extract energy from the forms feed and oscillate to burst the side perforations. Bursting of the cross perforations is carried out by a pivotally mounted, lever actuated bar which engages the platen and forms a toggle therewith to engage the successive forms against the platen just below the cross perforations; the toggle being arranged to tighten and increase the clamping force, as the form is pulled away from the platen when bursting the cross perforations. A roller assembly including rollers engaging the outside of the loop on the infeed or upstream side of the platen removes any platen wave due to differential displacement of the forms as they travel with linear motion through the tractors and with rotational motion around the platen.

Then the single can bodies are conveyed by a conveyor belt and rolled over the knife edge (parting edge) of an elongated parting rail, with the parting edge aligned with the score line and with the conveyor applying pressure on each can body to part each one on the parting edge, thereby forming two can bodies from the single can body.
