    Abstract: A tearing method for tearing a polarizing plate, including: after a tear-initiation edge of a polarizing plate defectively attached on a liquid crystal panel is torn away from the panel, turning on a pneumatic maintaining device to keep the tear-initiation edge at a torn-away state; moving the pneumatic maintaining device and a tearing platform such that the tear-initiation edge can be located in a tearing assembly; and clamping the tear-initiation edge in the tearing assembly and further tearing the polarizing plate by the relative movement between the tearing platform and the tearing assembly. The tearing method and device allows the polarizing plate to be torn semi-automatically, improves the controllability of the tearing process of the polarizing plate, and further improves the yield rate of the panel as well as reduces the industry safety risks.
