Abstract: A sheet product dispenser includes a housing to partially enclose a roll of sheet product, at least one end-opening at a longitudinal end of the housing to load said roll within the housing, and a longitudinal slit along a length of the housing to allow a leading edge of said sheet product to be unrolled therethrough defined by an upper and lower lip of the housing. The upper lip can flex to contact the lower lip to hold the sheet product in place during a cutting operation. The dispenser may further include a deforming projection disposed on a portion of the lower lip to deform the sheet product during a cutting operation to prevent roll-back of the sheet product.

Abstract: An adhesive tape cutting device includes a sleeve body having a top wall that has a tape slot defined by a slot-defining wall having a rear edge, front and rear end portions, and a protruded portion disposed between the rear edge and the front end portion. The tape slot separates the rear end portion and the protruded portion. The protruded portion extends outwardly and radially, through a tangent line passing through the rear edge, from one side of the tangent line to the other side of the tangent line. The protruded portion has a planar abutting surface, inclined away from the adhesive tape roll in a forward direction, and having opposite front and rear ends. The rear end is disposed on one side of a first reference line connecting the rear edge and the front end. The front end is disposed on one side of a second reference line connecting the rear edge and a tip of said cutting member.
Abstract: A paper cutting apparatus comprising a housing partially enclosing a roll of paper and a cutting member disclosed along an opening of the housing. A leading edge of a roll of paper is unrolled through the opening of the housing and is linearly severed along the cutting member.
Abstract: A device for cutting sheet material wound in a cylindrical roll includes a blade member having a cutting edge extending the length thereof, and positioning means extending from the roll of sheet material to the blade member for positioning the blade parallel to the axis of the roll. The positioning means includes a portion thereof distal with respect to the blade in rolling engagement with a surface of the roll to align the roll axis and the cutting edge. In one embodiment, an arm extends from each end of the blade to the roll and a pin protrudes from the arm inside the roll to bear against the inner surface thereof. A bearing, which may be bushing of a diameter substantially less than an inner diameter of the roll, rotates on the pin so that the blade is pendulously suspended from the inner surface of the roll. Graduations are provide on one or both sides of the blade member, and methods are disclosed for using the blade member as a drafting instrument to measure, and to draw horizontal and vertical lines.
Abstract: A shear for tape in a roll, comprising a main body adapted to lie along the outer periphery of the roll, a wing hingedly connected to each side of the main body and adapted to lie along a radial surface of the roll, and locking means for joining the inner ends of the wings together. The main body is provided with a blade and a window for the passage of the tape to the blade. Each wing is provided with fingers and each finger is provided with an inwardly-extending peg for engaging the radial surface of the roll.
