Abstract: An electrically powered work piece feeder for use with inverted routers or small shapers incorporates improvements in adjustability which enhances accuracy, convenience, and safety in the use of such power tools. The powered feeder element mounts on a table fence and has an inverted roller suspended over the table adjacent a working face. Mounting structure permits positional adjustment of the roller in spatial relation to the power tool cutter and a workpiece on the table so as to propel the workpiece on the table over the power tool cutter and along the working face in the direction of the longitudinal feed axis. An out-feed section may be provided on the fence that includes inner and outer wedge-shaped ramps movable with respect to one another along the longitudinal feed axis and adapted to be locked together, thus allowing slow and precise advancement of the outer ramp toward the router.

  • Patent number: 7559220
Abstract: A bar speed changing device (48) comprising a pair of upper rollers (55, 55?) and a pair of lower rollers (59, 59?). Said device receives a bar section with the rollers (55, 55?, 59, 59?) in the open position and rotating at a given speed. Upon leaving the device (48) said sections are fed into axially arranged peripheral seats (58) of rotating drum channels. Control devices calculate the speed at which the bar section must be released, upon completion of the braking action, according to the position that said section must occupy in one of said seats and on the basis of the bar-seat friction coefficient. When the rollers (55, 55?, 59, 59?) receive the bar, they turn at the calculated release speed. At a predefined moment, such to enable braking in the correct space and time, the four rollers close on the section and exert the braking action, exploiting the dynamic friction between the roller-section.

Abstract: A well pump puller having a well casing collar including a coupling adapted to be tightly secured to a well casing and a frame support of legs upstanding from the coupling. A frame which is removably mounted on the support includes first and second u-shaped members pivotally mounted on one of the frame support legs. Wheels with well pipe engaging surfaces are rotatably mounted on each u-shaped member. Locking apparatus are provided for securing the u-shaped members together with the pipe engaging surfaces of the wheels on the u-shaped members above the coupling of the well case collar. A motor transmits power to the wheels on the first u-shaped member, to move well pipe relative to the casing. A crank on the second u-shaped member moves the wheel towards and away from the wheels on the first unshaped member. The frame may be mounted on a stand instead of a well casing collar.

Abstract: Web feed apparatus, for example in web printing and folding apparatus, has a pair of opposing rollers, one (28) on a fixed axis and one (22) laterally movable to define an adjustable nip gap between their peripheries. The gap is automatically set and adjusted by a setting screw (4) driven by a servo motor (60) with rotation of the screw monitors by a potentiometer sensor (64). A stop collar (52) on the screw limits axial displacement thereof to determine the set nip gap and a spring (50) urges the rollers towards each other but permits displacement under overload conditions. A rectilinear sensor (54) senses said conditions by monitoring relative displacement of the stop collar and a programmable control system processes signals from the sensors and operates the servo motor accordingly.
