Abstract: An auto hammer with a striking device includes a striking rod and a clamping mechanism. The striking rod continually strikes a component to gradually insert the component into a workpiece. The clamping mechanism includes at least one clamping element, a biasing device, a bush and a sleeve, and the clamping elements are movable between a closed position and an opened position. The bush is arranged around the striking rod so as to prevent the nail head from becoming trapped in a gap which is formed after the clamping elements are entirely opened. The biasing device is arranged for biasing the bush toward the direction of striking the component. This clamping mechanism can reliably clamp nails or other components to facilitate user operation of the device.

The nosepiece cover includes a surface formed on an end thereof, wherein at least one of the nosepiece and nosepiece cover forms a channel. A driver is disposed within the channel, wherein as the nosepiece cover is moved from the first closed position to the second open position, the surface of the nosepiece cover prevents the driver from moving from the channel.

Abstract: A system and method for feeding collar members to an attachment system for assembly of aircraft and similar large scale mechanical assemblies. Collars are fed sideways along a tube having a rectangular internal cross-section to a collar pathway defined by an clamp fork and swaging ram combination. The collar pathway is curved to present the collar to a receiving element mounted on a swaging die in a proper orientation relative to an attachment bolt which is moved through an opening in the workpiece and then through the collar. As the bolt is moved into the collar, the collar, receiving element and swaging die move together laterally to come into alignment with the bolt.

The tool has a body that includes a body base surface, a stop surface, a body top surface and a staple slot. The tool has a rod assembly that includes a hammering head and a staple driving head. A hardwood flooring staple, inserted into the staple slot, followed by the staple driving head, is guided by the staple slot. In response to impact force received by the hammering head from a head of a hammer, the staple driving head drives the hardwood flooring staple into an external angle formed by the tongue and the outside edge of the plank. The staple may be inserted from beyond a plane defined by the body top surface. The staple slot may be at an angle greater than 45 degrees, less than or equal to 85 degrees.
