  • Patent number: 10556331
Abstract: An impact device for an electric nail gun having a flywheel includes a swing arm unit and an impact unit. The impact unit includes an impact member adapted to be disposed between the flywheel and the swing arm unit, and a magnetic element set mounted to the impact member, spaced apart from the swing arm unit to form a gap therebetween, and providing a magnetic force which magnetically attracts a magnetically conductive component of the swing arm unit. The swing arm unit is movable between a pre-firing position where the impact member is not in contact with the flywheel, and a firing position where the impact member is in contact with the flywheel such that rotation of the flywheel drives the impact unit to move on the swing arm unit.

Abstract: The present invention consists of the complete integration of a self arming controlled action pneumatic fastener magazine slider (pusher and feeder) within the two legs of a stack of U-shape staples on a magazine support rail, thanks to the interplay of two pairs of releasably interlocking sensor and keys fastener pusher elements. In one embodiment of the invention, the slider system is self-arming and fits within an elbowed magazine for receiving fasteners, but works along the straight portion of the magazine. This slider system will accommodate elongated magazine holding a larger number of fasteners. The slider system will decrease the time required for fastener reloading by simplifying operations and enabling a greater flexibility for the operator. A fastener retention device may be provide to the fastener pusher, defining an operative mode active with a large storage load of fasteners into the magazine, and a inoperative mode triggered when the load of magazine feeders decreases below a threshold value.

Abstract: A fastener driving tool includes a power source including a cylinder, a piston with a driver blade reciprocating in the cylinder, a tool nose associated with the power source for receiving the driver blade for driving fasteners fed into the nose, and a magazine housing a supply of the fasteners. A magazine feeder mechanism is associated with the magazine for sequentially feeding fasteners into the nose, and the feeder mechanism includes a reciprocating feed piston. A conduit is connected between a port in the cylinder and the feed mechanism for diverting combusted gas for activating the feed piston. The port is disposed in the cylinder a specified distance below a piston prefiring position, the distance being reflective of a delay of activating the feed piston until the drive piston finishes a driving stroke and begins a return to the prefiring position.

Abstract: A fastening tool can include a housing comprising a nosepiece and a handle. The handle can define a first longitudinal axis. A magazine can be connected to the housing for storing a fastener. The magazine can define a second longitudinal axis that is substantially parallel to the first longitudinal axis and a fastener channel for receiving a fastener. The magazine can be movable relative to the housing between an alignment position wherein the distal tip of the fastener engages a workpiece and an activation position wherein the magazine moves toward the housing upon movement of the handle toward the workpiece. A driving mechanism can be disposed within the housing for driving the fastener into a workpiece. A trigger assembly can be coupled to the housing for activating the driving mechanism upon actuation of a primary trigger and movement of the magazine into the activation position.

  • Patent number: 8789736
Abstract: A stapling element is provided, operative to pierce and penetrate a tissue by a first end, and close around the tissue. Three factors help prevent local necrosis: 1. The self-closing feature of the staple does not lead to tissue crushing. 2. Edge seams are applied generally perpendicular to the tissue edge, allowing for blood supply to the tissue edge. 3. Excess tissue is cut off at the seam, minimizing the amount of tissue that may undergo local necrosis. A physical feature prevents the staple from rotating, when in an application shaft, to maintain a predetermined closing direction. The stapling element may be formed of an alloy, a pure metal, a polymer, or a composite of at least two materials. Additionally, staplers, anastomosis devices, and methods for their applications are described.
