Abstract: A unitary disposable beverage container sleeve that can also be used as a coaster and that can be comprised of (optionally recyclable) cardstock for economically imprinting with advertising logos or slogans. The upper body vertical rectangular edges are connected to form sides of the sleeve and a gusset extends across the diameter at the lower edge to form the base of the sleeve. The gusset has a hinge that opens and closes the sleeve. Arched grooves positioned at that lower edge above the gusset where the gusset attaches to opposing sides of the sleeve allows flex in the sleeve and affords a level base.

Abstract: A multivariable perforated adjustable height box is provided with improved folding, bending, and separation of adjacent panels. The multivariable perforated adjustable height box may include a box, columns, rows, glue tabs, column scores, row scores, perforations, cuts, skips, and bundle breakers. Perforation patterns may be irregular, angled, shifted, or otherwise configured to increase usability, strength, and/or other aspects of the packaging. A method to produce a packaging device with improved folding, bending, and separation of adjacent panels using the multivariable perforated adjustable height box is also provided.

Abstract: A consumable product package assembly includes at least one consumable product and a package for enclosing the at least one product. The package includes an elongate body portion surrounding the product and a longitudinal seal extending at least partially along the length of the body portion. The seal has a pair of longitudinally spaced notches extending transversely to the distal edge of the seal. The notches define a grasping tab therebetween to initiate tearing of the body portion of the package transversely about the product. The body portion further includes at least one score location extending between the notches to weaken the package thereat to facilitate controlled tearing of the body portion.

Abstract: A pizza slice tray made of paperboard with two inclining edges. Three scores are provided that extend between opposite ends and are creased to be folded. A central one of the scores separates the tray into symmetric halves. Each of the remaining two scores extend substantially parallel to respective ones of the inclining edges. A perforated line extends between the inclining edges to cross the three scores so as to separate from each other narrower and wider portions of the tray and enable folding at the perforated line so that the narrower portion lies under the wider portion.

A path of weakness extends around a periphery of the carton through at least a portion of the side wall. The path of weakness enables a user to manually separate the carton into at least two portions: an upper portion including the top wall and a lower portion including the bottom wall. A pair of lines of weakness extends upwardly relative to the path of weakness and terminates at or adjacent the top wall. A grip flap defined in the side wall between the pair of lines of weakness, the grip flap being graspable by the user when separating the carton into the at least two portions.

The seal in the sealed configuration flexibly provides package integrity with an air-tight seal and connection. In the operated configuration, the seal separates the package into two sections, allowing the package to assume a size that is suitable for the volume of material remaining. In one embodiment, the mid-package separable seal includes a sealing strip that is adhesively attached to the outside of the package and covers a tear line/strip formed in the material of the package. Removal of the sealing strip allows the tear line to separate the package into two sections. In another embodiment, a connecting strip is attached to two sections of the package and the connecting strip has an integral tear line.

During use, an operator grasps the opening mechanism and pulls outward and upward on the tear tape, thereby stepping through the triple wall material and separating the upper container portion from the lower container portion.

A first side of the overcap includes a radially extending surface and an annular rim extending outwardly therefrom for engaging a retaining rim of the adjustable volume container. A second side of the overcap includes an annular member that is adapted to frictionally engage the exposed end of the remaining portions of the container that are formed by separating a portion of the container from the remaining portion of the container. The reversible overcap of the present invention is thus a multi-functional end closure and forms part of a completely self-contained adjustable volume container for consumer products that continuously accommodates the volume of the food product in the container.

Abstract: A container having a plurality of selectable volumes having a bottom portion, two side panels, and two end panels with lateral perforations extending across these panels to allow removal of at least a portion thereof. Each of the two end panels includes hypotenuse creases adapted to allow the two end panels to be selectively inwardly folded to thereby form a top closure for the container with a portion of the two side panels. In addition, the containers may be provided with a vertical perforation, a closure flap with side flaps, and identifiable marking to facilitate identification of the perforations and hypotenuse creases. Moreover, the container may also include a plurality of fold facilitating creases laterally extending across the two side panels and the two end panels, as well as through-holes on the hypotenuse creases.
