  • Publication number: 20080128480
Abstract: A novel candy or mints box has an opening near the top of the box and an underlying slide that is moveable sideways across the opening. Preferably the top portion of the box includes a flap with an opening, and the flap extends over a corresponding opening in the front side such that the openings align, and the slide lies between the front side of the box and the top flap. The slide also preferably further includes a stop member and the box has a corresponding catch member, such that the slide is always contained within the box. Advantageously, the box is formed from a single blank piece of paper or cardboard stock, and folded in a particular sequence such that the slide ends up inside the box without the need for a separate insertion step.

  • Publication number: 20040155098
Abstract: The carton of this invention is capable of carrying the plurality of containers stacked upon their ends in two tiers with a unique dispenser that permits the dispensing of containers on their sides. The dispenser is formed in a top side wall and extends into the end wall with most of the end wall being torn open but leaving a portion near the bottom side wall to prevent the bottom layer of containers from rolling out. Angled projections in the dispensing end of the carton near the top panel and bottom panel prevent the top layer of containers from rolling out. A divider is provided to facilitate loading the two tiers of containers and an end of the divider is folded down to facilitate its correct placement on the bottom tier of cans. A slit is provided between the two end portions of the divider so cans can be removed from the dispenser without being impeded by the divider being in the way.

Abstract: An asparagus shipping container assembly and method of packing asparagus. The asparagus shipping container includes a body, preferably coated by a fluid impervious material, and a movably mounted access segment selectively disposable between opened and closed positions. The access segment, when moved to the open position defines an access opening in the body that is disposed, dimensioned and configured to facilitate both visual and physical access to the interior of the body as well as a laterally directed, rapid and space saving positioning of the asparagus therethrough into the interior of the body, while reducing the possibility of physical damage being done as with vertically directed placement and removal of the products through an open top of a conventional container. A closure assembly may then be disposed atop the body to maintain the access segment in its closed orientation for easy transport and if desired, passage through a spray wash.
