The container includes bottom, side and top walls and at least one of the walls being an opening wall formed of panels which provide an opening to an interior of the container and which overlap to provide the locking a closure of the opening wall. In a closed condition of the container, a bottommost panel of the opening wall is partially overlapped by adjacent panels of the opening wall and a topmost panel of the opening wall located opposite the bottommost panel partially overlaps the adjacent panels and the bottommost panel. A tab of the bottommost panel is lifted upwardly to partially overlap the topmost panel to form the locking closure.

Abstract: A paperboard carton blank is formed into a carton from an integral sheet of foldable material, such as paperboard. The carton includes a number of sides serially connected to one another each having a top end spaced from a bottom end. A number of top and bottom flaps are each foldably connected to the top and bottom end, respectively, of one of the sides and the associated flaps combine to form top and bottom ends of the carton. One or more struts extend beyond the distal ends of at least some of the top or bottom flaps and are folded into face to face juxtaposition and secured onto an inside face of the side associated with the flap to which it is connected to thereby reinforce the associated side and inhibit deformation of the carton.

Abstract: An interactive food serving package (10) formed from a blank (B) of paperboard has a tray (11) with openings (19) for receiving items, and a combined lid and game piece (12) detachably connected to the tray. The tray has front and back walls (13, 14), opposite end walls (16, 17), a bottom wall (15) and a top wall (18). The front and back walls are pivotally connected to the top and bottom walls, and the end walls comprise releasably interlocking end closure flaps (24, 25 and 46, 47), whereby the tray may be moved between a flattened condition with the top and bottom walls lying flat against one another, and an open expanded condition with the top and bottom walls in spaced parallel relationship. Cuts made in the top wall define a plurality of partition panels (29, 30 and 36, 37) extending perpendicularly between the top and bottom walls in the expanded condition, and including at least one transverse partition panel (36, 37) holding the tray in the expanded position.

Abstract: A paperboard container which displays particular utility for the packaging of fast food products is formed from a unitary blank of paperboard. The blank, typically, employs an automatic bottom, i.e., a bottom which is automatically formed upon opening the container from a folded or flattened configuration. The container is characterized by side webs between the top edges of the end panels and the top cover panel. Upon folding the top cover panel down to close the container, after being loaded with food, each side web forms a point or apex along its edge, this apex then tucked into a complementary slit in a respective end panel. Each side web is in frictional, surface to surface engagement with a respective end panel. Further, the top closure cover is provided with a friction latch cooperating with the front wall panel to thereby yield three points of frictional engagement to maintain the container in its closed position prior to being opened by the consumer.
