Abstract: A convertible device that converts between an activity mat and a storage container to capture and store numerous articles. Upon reclosing the activity mat, the articles are recaptured into the storage container. The device includes walls and a base, webbing connected between each adjacent wall pair, and a joint connected between the base and walls so that they are foldable into a third configuration wherein the footprint of the folded device is roughly the size of the base. In the third configuration, the walls are stacked relative to the base. The convertible device may further include two zippers for releasably holding the walls in a rigid and upright position in the first configuration. The webbing can be inwardly biased such that when the walls are urged from the second to the first configuration, the webbing folds toward the interior of the convertible device.

Abstract: Disclosed are reclosable and stackable food trays formed from a single blank that are capable of being folded and glued on standard machinery. Embodiments of the invention include raised gussets that extend beyond the top edge of the side panels of the formed tray and beyond the top of the formed tray. In some embodiments, the raised gussets help prevent distortion in all dimensions and facilitate the stacking of multiple trays on top of one another such that the stacked trays cannot slide off the lower tray.

Abstract: A hinged-lid package of filter cigarettes has a box (2) with an inner frame (10) and a lid (6) that opens/closes the box (2). Four corner edges of the box (2) which extend in the longitudinal direction of the box (2), are formed into longitudinal edges (16) having an arc-like shape in cross section of the box (2). The arc-like shape of the longitudinal edges (16) is formed with a plurality of longitudinal grooves made only in the inner surface of the box (2). The package has a reinforcement patch (64) arranged in the box (2) across the longitudinal grooves.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a container for non-liquid food, such as for popcorn, potato chips or french fries, and has a bottom and an upright peripheral wall which together delineate a cavity for holding the food, as well as a pocket, which is formed from parts of the peripheral wall for holding an object that accompanies the food. In order to prevent an escape of the food located in the cavity and/or a contact of the object in the pocket with the food in the cavity, the invention provides that a lower end of the pocket is formed from a movable peripheral wall part which is delineated by two fold lines diverging upwards in a V shape and a punch line or cut joining the upper ends of the fold lines at a distance from an upper edge of the peripheral wall.

Abstract: An apparatus for constructing a container from a continuous blank of sheet material including a plurality of panels coupled together at a plurality of fold lines is provided. The apparatus includes a mandrel that is rotatable about a rotational axis. The mandrel includes a rotary head that defines a plurality of exterior surfaces each corresponding to a panel of the continuous blank of sheet material. The rotary head forms an opening in at least one exterior surface configured to receive at least one panel for facilitating forming the blank of sheet material into a configuration with respect to a shape of the rotary head as the mandrel rotates about the rotational axis.

Abstract: A blank of sheet material for forming a container including automatically locking bottom panels is provided. The blank includes a pair of end panels, a pair of side panels and at least one corner panel that are interconnected. The corner panel extends between an adjacent end panel and side panel. The blank includes bottom end panels extending from the end panels and bottom side panels extending from the side panels. A first coupling tab is integral with a bottom end panel, and a second coupling tab is integral with a bottom side panel. The first coupling tab attaches to a bottom side panel, and the second coupling tab attaches to a bottom end panel. The coupling tabs upwardly direct the bottom panels when the container is moved to a flat position and downwardly direct the bottom panels when the container is moved from the flat position to an erected position.

Abstract: A foldable utensil set including a bowl, dish, cup and spoon each foldable from a prescored plastic sheet which is semitransparent to allow angled folds at the corner to be visible as an aesthetic feature. The rims of the bowl and cup have portions at two different levels to prevent liquid from reaching the level of the mating snaps used to secure the bowl and cup in the folded condition. The spoon is folded from a flat sheet having two contiguous sections scored so as to form a handle and bowl portion when folded. The dish has side edges stiffened with a fold over section which also holds the folds in position. Oval shaped scoring is provided as an aesthetic feature and to aid in forming corners on the utensils when being folded.

Abstract: A foldable box that includes a bottom panel, four sides panels and connectors with each connectors having a first portion and a second portion. The first portion of the connector is foldably connected to a side panel and the second connector is adhered to another side panel, these panels being adjacent to each other. The above connector placement allows a user to transform a box from an unfolded first position to a folded second position in one easy step. The box is then secured in this position by means of a holding member, such as, an adhesive, Velcro, magnets or a folding member.

Abstract: A packaging structure for holding an article within an outer box includes a pair of side legs and a pair of end legs defining a main portion having a window opening, and a flexible web extending across the window opening. End portions are connected to first ends of the side legs along first fold lines and to second ends of the side legs along second fold lines. Each end portion includes an intermediate fold line at an oblique angle relative to the first and second fold lines, dividing the end portions into first regions adjacent the ends of the side legs, and second regions remote therefrom. The end portions are connected in the second regions to the end legs to form the packaging structure into an intermediate folded structure.

Abstract: A fold-up and knock-down structure for ease of storage, handling and shipment includes an originating substantially flat form arranged with a plurality of panels defined by score lines, the score lines defining a generally rectangular base panel and four generally rectangular side panels. Disposed between each pair of side panels are corner panels which are additionally subdivided by score line into generally triangular corner sections. Each of the corner sections and each of the side panels include apertures to enable the threading therethrough of a strap or cord, the free ends of which are secured so as to hold the structure in its folded-up configuration. The strap or cords may then be released and the folded-up structure returned to its originating flat form and reused.
