Gift Wrapped Patents (Class 229/923)
  • Patent number: 5360159
Abstract: The invention relates to a sealed mailer or a business form assembly for providing a series of such mailers. In one form, the mailer has a folded edge and three other edges sealed by adhesive. A line of perforation extends along a first edge opposite the folded edge. Adhesive along the other two opposite edges is of a peel-apart arrangement such that after the first edge has been detached, the other two edges can be peeled apart to open out the mailer without significantly damaging the mailer. In another form, two rectangular sheets are sealed along all four edges with a line of perforation along a marginal edge portion of a first of the edges. Two edges adjacent the first edge and extending normal thereto are secured to one another by a peel-apart adhesive arrangement such that after the first edge portion has been torn off along the line of perforation, the two sheets from which the mailer is formed can be peeled apart from one another without significantly damaging the mailer.

  • Patent number: 5289972
Abstract: A single sheet intermediate for a mailer type business form is Z-folded into a reusable mailer having a return envelope. The Z-folding of the intermediate provides three panels of about the same size, and a cut out covered by a transparent patch may be provided in the second panel, the patch covered by a removable outgoing addressee label. The reply address may be printed on the first face of the third panel of the mailer, or on the first face of the first panel on a detachable portion that may be inserted into the return envelope. The return envelope is defined by a generally U-shaped adhesive pattern, open at one side, with a flap having rewettable adhesive at the open side. Removable strips along the side edges of the mailer are held together by permanent adhesive, and are removed when opening the mailer and using the return envelope. The bar coding and the outgoing postage indicia are detached from the mailer when it is opened so that they are not visible on the return envelope.

  • Patent number: 4706877
Abstract: The recipient of a mailer, following pre-printed instructions, severs a marginal portion in order to separate a cover sheet, through a window of which the initial mail-to address label was visible, from a return envelope. The recipient then detaches a remittance document from the separated cover sheet and places it in the return envelope, e.g. together with a bank check or other form of payment, seals the return envelope and peels off the initial mail-to address label, thus exposing the pre-printed return mail to address. The peeled-off label is to be re-applied up in the upper left corner sender's return address position. The initial mail-to address label and the underlying return mail to address may be provided on the respective layers of a so-called piggyback label.

  • Patent number: 4638940
Abstract: A business form combining the storage and organization of visual matter such as photographs on diagrams with corresponding written descriptions and two mailing envelopes formed from a single sheet folded to form three (3) panels. The first panel has see-through plastic overlay attached to the underlying sheet with an adhesive, forming compartments initially sealed on three (3) sides permitting insertion of the visual matter into the compartment and ultimately sealing of the fourth side by exposing an adhesive surface. On the reverse side of the first panel is an envelope face. The second panel in both sides of the sheet provides space for written descriptions corresponding to the visual matter. The third detachable panel provides space for written directions on use of the form and on the reverse side an envelope face.

  • Patent number: 4566720
Abstract: A booklet comprises a front page, a back page and a plurality of inner pages. An envelope is detachably connected to the outer longitudinal edge of the booklet's back page, and the envelope has dimensions which permit it to be folded along either the outside or the inside of the back page. The envelope may be folded inside the booklet without impairing the compactness of the booklet. No matter how the envelope is folded, there is easy access to all of the booklet pages and to the envelope. For functional reasons involving the aforesaid compactness and accessibility, the back page is indented relative to the other pages of the booklet and the front and back panels of the envelope are indented relative to the back page of the booklet. The envelope has a flap made out of material saved from the indentations.

  • Patent number: 4524903
Abstract: A two-way mailer unit which is formed from a single sheet of paperlike material. The sheet has first name and address and second name and address applied thereto. The sheet has a first severance line and a second severance line, separated by a first fold line. The sheet is folded, and portions thereof are attached together to form an envelope pocket section with a flap portion extending therefrom. A message section is provided between the severance lines. The folded sheet in such form is mailable to a recipient whose name and address appears as the first name and address. The sheet is severable by the recipient along the severance lines so that the envelope pocket section with the flap portion is separated from the message section. The recipient may then note the message section. The recipient places a message and/or payment piece within the envelope section.

  • Patent number: 4444356
Abstract: A window envelope modifier can be assembled with a document which, when prepared for mailing, may be shorter than the inside length of a window envelope or narrower than the inside height of the envelope. The modifier prevents shifting of the document within the envelope during handling and mailing to an extent which might prevent the usual recipient's address on the document from being easily seen through the envelope window. The modifier has a body portion with opposite ends and a transverse strip of contact adhesive spaced between such ends and closer to one end than to the other. A premarked or prescored fold line is located between the adhesive strip and the other opposite end. A removable protective strip may cover the adhesive strip prior to use. The modifier is capable of use in either flat or preferably folded form and may be provided as separate individual sheets or as severable portions of a continuous supply roll.
