Abstract: A method is performed at an electronic payment module with one or more processors, memory, a slave interface that couples the module with an unattended machine via a multi-drop bus (MDB), and one or more host interfaces that couple the module with at least one payment peripheral of the unattended machine. The method also includes: receiving, from a refund center, a request to issue an approved refund of a predetermined amount and one or more criteria that must be satisfied before dispensing the predetermined amount. In accordance with a determination that the one or more criteria are met, the method includes issuing (i) a signal to the unattended machine, via the slave interface, that the at least one payment peripheral is unavailable and (ii) a signal to the at least one payment peripheral, via the one or more host interfaces, to dispense the predetermined amount.

Payee devices and locations of those payee devices may be identified and displayed on a display of a payor device. Once displayed, a specific payee device may be selected by the customer and an order for a product or service may be sent to the selected payee device from the payor device. After the product or service has been provided to the customer, information that confirms that purchase may be sent to any of the selected payee device, the payor device, or a payment processing computer and funds to pay for the product or service may be deposited into an account of the payee based on the confirmation.

Configuration data may be obtained for an image of the object. The configuration data may indicate an orientation of the object in the image. An image of the object may be obtained from an imaging sensor of a device. A discrepancy may be determined between the orientation of the object in the image using the configuration data. Orientation guidance may be generated that indicates repositioning of the object in the image. It may be determined that the discrepancy between the orientation of the object in the image has been eliminated. Capture guidance may be generated for output via the device based on a set of commands determined based on detection of an operating system executing on the device.

In some embodiments, an offline computer system (operating within an offline computing environment) may obtain, from a removable computer-readable storage medium, signing key shards corresponding to a signing private key and a blockchain transaction to be signed, where the signing key shards satisfy a key shard threshold that is (i) a number of key shards required for reconstructing the signing private key and (ii) less than a number of key shards derived from the signing private key using a ceremony key. The offline computer system may form a ciphertext of the signing private key using the signing key shards and reconstruct the signing private key by decrypting the ciphertext using the ceremony key. The offline computer system may sign the blockchain transaction using the signing private key.

A computing device may determine whether to authorize the financial transaction based on the authorization information and the correlated transaction metadata. Methods and devices for pre-generating session keys for securing transactions are provided. The generated session key is obfuscated with a preventing data for unauthorized use and/or access of the session cryptographic and encrypted. This encrypted obfuscated key is provisioned from a remote computer to the communication device. The mobile application is configured to decrypt and de-obfuscate the received encrypted obfuscated session cryptographic key, during a transaction. The method may also include generating, by the communication device, a transaction cryptogram using the decrypted and de-obfuscated session cryptographic key, and sending by the communication device to the remote system the transaction cryptogram to conduct the transaction. The transaction can be authorized based on at least whether the decrypted and de-obfuscated session cryptographic key is the expected one.

Abstract: Existing currency validation (CVAL) devices, systems, and methods are too slow, costly, intrusive, and/or bulky to be routinely used in common transaction locations (e.g., at checkout, at an automatic teller machine, etc.). Presented herein are devices, systems, and methods to facilitate optical validation of documents, merchandise, or currency at common transaction locations and to do so in an obtrusive and convenient way. More specifically, the present invention embraces a validation device that may be used alone or integrated within a larger system (e.g., point of sale system, kiosk, etc.). Abstract: The present disclosure is directed towards systems and methods for aiding compliance with tax collection and reporting obligations. Distributed ledgers may assist with the verified calculation of taxes owed through the use of identity wallets and cryptocurrency transactions may be employed to effectuate payment to sellers as well as payment of taxes owed to the appropriate tax authorities. Verification of identity sources and of tax calculation and transmission engines may reduce compliance obligations on the part of sellers.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for allowing completion of cardless ATM transactions at an ATM using a barcode that encodes an identifier for that ATM. A user of a mobile banking app may begin a transaction on their mobile device and, upon reaching a stage of the transaction where ATM access is needed (e.g., to withdraw physical cash), requests that the user visit an ATM to scan the barcode. When the mobile app scans the barcode, the ATM displaying the barcode is associated with the transaction, and completes the transaction (e.g., by dispensing cash). This barcode, while usable to identify the ATM for this purpose, also provides additional information that can be obtained by any barcode reader. This additional information may, for example, be a link to a website that provides an explanation about this service.
