Before the login session is terminated, the system determines all open windows and captures a screenshot of each window that is open on the desktop at the time of terminating the login session. The location of each window is also determined and recorded along with the screenshots before the session is terminated. When the user starts a new active login session at a later time, the state of the desktop is restored using the recorded file paths, screenshots and window locations.

An embodiment of a method for authentication of a consumer product includes providing the consumer product, optionally with packaging material associated therewith. Filtered light from an intrinsic portion of the consumer product or packaging material associated therewith is detected using a photodetector of a portable computing device to produce at least one single-color image data set representative of the intrinsic portion for at least one color. The at least one single-color image data set is compared with a stored data set that is representative of authentic information for the intrinsic portion using a microprocessor of the portable computing device, with the comparison conducted independent of and separate from any analysis of non-color data obtained from preconfigured security features. An indication of authenticity of the consumer product is provided based upon the comparison.

The remote system processes the request and transmits a deposit record to the device, which in turn transmits the record to the smart card. If the device has network access, it transmits a deposit confirmation to the remote system, which updates the smart card account to include the confirmation. If the device unable to connect to the remote system, the deposit confirmation is transmitted when the smart card is involved in a future transaction. During the future transaction, the smart card transmits its transaction history, which comprises the deposit confirmation, to the device, and the device transmits the transaction history to the remote system. The remote system updates the smart card account to include the deposit confirmation.

    Abstract: A system and method for tracking, treating, and laundering stains on a fabric item is disclosed. The system and method uses a stain tracking app to store and transmit data about the stain to a piece of laundry equipment. The system and method optionally uses an RFID tag to mark the stain or stains on a fabric item and uses a transponder or smartphone to locate the RFID tag and the stained fabric item. The user is then able to precisely locate both the stained fabric item and the precise location of the stain or stains on the fabric item for an optional chemical pretreatment prior to laundering. The stain tracking application transmits information about the stain to the piece of laundry equipment which can then be used to determine optimal pre-treatment and cleaning parameters to optimize removal of the stain or stains.
