  • Patent number: 12019086
Abstract: An improved system and method for the selection and dispensing of reagents onto a target testing medium in an automated laboratory environment. The system utilizes multiple carousels rotatably-mounted upon a central turntable. The position of the central turntable, as well as the rotation of each carousel is controlled by a microprocessor-based control system. Multiple dispensers, each capable of storing and dispensing a particular reagent, are mounted about the circumference of each carousel. This configuration provides much higher reagent density than previously available. The testing medium is positioned at one or more loading stations. The control system directs the central turntable to a position from which a selected one of the carousels can be rotated so as to position a selected dispenser above the testing medium. The selected dispenser is then actuated to release a predetermined reagent onto the testing medium.

  • Patent number: 11954930
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to advanced image signal processing technology including: i) rapid localization for machine-readable indicia including, e.g., 1-D and 2-D barcodes; and ii) barcode reading and decoders. One claim recites: an image processing method comprising: obtaining 2-dimensional (2D) image data representing a 1-dimensional (1D) barcode within a first image area; generating a plurality of scanlines across the first image area; for each of the plurality of scanlines, synchronizing the scanline, including decoding an initial set of numerical digits represented by the scanline, in which said synchronizing provides a scale estimate for the scanline; using a path decoder to decode remaining numerical digits within the scanline, the path decoder decoding multiple numerical digits in groups, in which the scale estimate is adapted as the remaining numerical digits are decoded; and providing decoded numerical digits as an identifier represented by the scanline.

  • Patent number: 11948404
Abstract: This invention presents a method for streamlining both the luggage handling and check-in processes for passengers traveling with a first-mode travel carrier (FMTC). The process involves obtaining the identifier of a paper bag tag (BT) from the FMTC on a passenger's luggage, converting it into digital data, and linking it to the FMTC. The passenger's bag number is extracted from the digital data, and additional passenger data such as the passenger name record (PNR) is accessed from the FMTC using this number. The method then autonomously generates a passenger manifest record, combining the digital bag tag data with the PNR, to facilitate check-in for the return leg of the journey with a return travel carrier (RTC). This process is repeated for multiple passengers associated with a lodging entity, creating passenger manifest files that serve as a conduit for checking in passengers with the RTC.

Abstract: An automated Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) exception processing method, system, and recording medium for facilitating completion of an ATM deposit transaction upon an occurrence of an exception. The method includes remotely monitoring an ATM for the exception by an automated ATM monitoring system over a first communication network, and automatically reporting a detected exception resulting in a failed ATM deposit transaction, by a processor in the automated ATM monitoring system, to both a customer processing system and to a reconstruction transaction system over a second communication network. The process also includes processing a customer claim by the customer processing system based on the failed ATM deposit transaction, and reconstructing the failed ATM deposit transaction by the reconstruction transaction system. The method further incudes reconciling the customer claim with the reconstructed ATM deposit transaction.

Abstract: A printer for printing plate-like media made of plastic and/or metal such as printing marker cards with markers for marking electrical appliances has various functional devices and an apparatus for handling the printable plate-like media. The marker cards are conveyed in the printer between the functional devices. The handling apparatus has several stations which are formed as receiving and fixing devices for a marker card to be printed. One or more of the stations is configured so as to be pivotable, such that it can be pivoted out of a first pivot position into a second pivot position against a resilient stop.

  • Patent number: 11938090
Abstract: A substrate includes a first surface area; and a second surface area with a second roughness value. In a height profile of the substrate along a cutting line crossing the first surface area and the second surface area, a height of the substrate along a first section of the height profile is larger than the height of the substrate along a second section of the height profile. In the height profile an absolute value of a height difference between a point of maximum height or an averaged height, respectively, of the second section and a point of minimal height or an averaged height, respectively, of the first section defines a depth value. A ratio of the depth value and the second roughness value is between 2 and 35. A marking element extends across the first surface area and the second surface area.

Abstract: A system for managing a local area shopping network is disclosed. The plurality of subsystems includes an order request subsystem, configured to receive a request of a product order from registered/unregistered (a customer can be guest customer) customers. The plurality of subsystems includes a parameter determination subsystem configured to determine a delivery area, a delivery schedule for sellers and determine product pickup area for the customers/buyers based on their preference and location. A buyer may decide for delivery only, in that case there is no pickup area/perimeter. The plurality of subsystems includes a product transaction subsystem. The product transaction subsystem is configured to identify (all sellers. If there are none that meet criteria then it is blank) one seller from the list of the registered sellers based on received request of the product order and establish a direct communication link with the customer.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein relate to eligibility checking for transfer of one or more electronic subscriber identity modules (eSIMs) between two mobile wireless devices. Eligibility to transfer an eSIM to an eUICC of a target device can depend on whether the eUICC of the target device satisfies certain security requirements for the eSIMs to be transferred. The mobile wireless devices can obtain a transfer eligibility result based on communication with one or more network-based servers that can determine compatibility for eSIM transfer.
