  • Patent number: 9978010
Abstract: Aspects of the invention relate to a smart card that includes an OLED display. The smart card may store data associated with multiple purchasing instruments and utilize the OLED display to present sensitive data associated with a user selected purchasing instrument. In response to the selection, the smart card may transmit sensitive data associated with the selected purchasing instrument. The OLED display may allow the smart card to include a customizable face. The OLED display may present video, colors or any suitable text. For example, the OLED display may present a user's credit limit, rewards or spend categories. Such smart cards may be easily re-branded as a result of the smart card not being permanently tied to an embossed number. New sensitive data may be pushed to the smart card and thereby allow it to be used immediately based on the new sensitive data.

  • Patent number: 9965762
Abstract: Systems, methods and IC card devices are described for updating parameters such as unblocking or blocking or re-blocking an application on an IC card device whereby an integrated circuit card device gets issued with one or more active applications and optionally one or more dormant applications. Post issuance, triggered by a cardholder action when using a primary application, the issuer will send a command, e.g. in the form of a script to the card that will update parameters of another application, e.g. to ‘wake up’ the or each dormant application. An on-card mechanism is provided for the deblocking of the dormant application while the primary application is active. For any further transactions performed with the card, the cardholder will be offered a choice between the unblocked applications on the card. Optionally the oncard mechanism can also block or re-block an application or perform other actions.

  • Patent number: 9819256
Abstract: To prevent damage on an element even when a voltage high enough to break the element is input. A semiconductor device of the invention operates with a first voltage and includes a protection circuit which changes the value of the first voltage when the absolute value of the first voltage is higher than a reference value. The protection circuit includes: a control signal generation circuit generating a second voltage based on the first voltage and outputting the generated second voltage; and a voltage control circuit. The voltage control circuit includes a transistor which has a source, a drain, and a gate, and which is turned on or off depending on the second voltage input to the gate and thus controls whether the value of the first voltage is changed based on the amount of current flowing between the source and the drain. The transistor also includes an oxide semiconductor layer.

  • Patent number: 9792540
Abstract: In the present invention, by connecting a band-gap reference voltage module unit to a threshold unit of a limiter circuit, the ON-voltage of the threshold unit can be dynamically and continuously controlled; and the output voltage value of the band-gap reference voltage module unit can be arbitrarily set as needed for operating the circuit. When a voltage of the antenna terminal is higher than the sum of this band-gap reference voltage value and the respective threshold voltage of the serial MOS transistors, the threshold unit is turned ON to switch on a grounded path, so that charge at the antenna is output to the ground; in this way, the amount of charge at the antenna terminal is reduced and the rectified DC voltage is thus reduced. When the voltage at the antenna terminal is lower than the sum of this band-gap reference voltage value and the respective threshold voltage of the serial MOS transistors, the threshold unit is turned off to switch off the grounded path.
