  • Patent number: 11907782
Abstract: Among other concepts, this disclosure describes a thermal/optical/electronic authentication system (covert or non-covert) for device/system implementations. The authentication system may be based on different design parameters such as i) materials composition, ii) thickness of material, iii) geometry of material, iv) external effects including use of an external DC bias and curing, etc. The authentication testbeds can be configured to include one or more inks. Using such methods as discussed herein, the authentication can be broadened to include near-IR (700-900 nm), short wave IR (1-2.6 mm), and UVA (300-400 nm) or any spectrum. Printed resistors are very difficult to duplicate without Ag-BST13 ink. If necessary, a printed resistor network on a respective substrate can be hidden using a layer of non-sintered Ag-BST13 (non-conductive).

  • Patent number: 11900194
Abstract: The technology described herein generates a unique identifier for a visual media that comprises pre-printed visual indications on the visual media and a user's handwritten signature. The location of the signature on the visual media can be determined by including preprinted fiducial marks on the visual media. The fiducial markers act as landmarks that allow the size and location of the signature to be determined in absolute terms. The unique identifier is then stored in computer memory on a user-experience server. The user-experience server can associate the unique identifier with a digital asset, such as an image or video, designated by the user. When the unique identifier is provided to the user-experience server a second time, the digital asset can be retrieved and output to the computing device that provided the unique identifier.

  • Patent number: 11683468
Abstract: Technologies are generally described for coordination of structured light-based image detectors. In some examples, one or more structured light sources may be configured to project sets of points onto the scene. The sets of points may be arranged into disjoint sets of geometrical shapes such as lines, where each geometrical shape includes a subset of the points projected by an illumination source. A relative position and or a color of the points in each geometrical shape may encode an identification code with which each illumination source may be identified. Thus, even when the point clouds projected by each of the illumination sources overlap, the geometrical shapes may still be detected, and thereby a corresponding illumination source may be identified. A depth map may then be estimated based on stereovision principles or depth-from-focus principles by one or more image detectors.

Abstract: Systems and methods for custom functional patterns for optical barcodes are provided. In example embodiments, image data of an image is received from a user device. A candidate shape feature of the image is extracted from the image data. A determination is made that the shape feature satisfies a shape feature rule. In response to the candidate shape feature satisfying the shape feature rule, a custom graphic in the image is identified by comparing the candidate shape feature with a reference shape feature of the custom graphic. In response to identifying the custom graphic, data encoded in a portion of the image is decoded.

Abstract: A tag with sufficient variability is generated. The tag facilitates quick location and processing within a facility. During generation, a matrix representative of a possible tag may be tested for sufficient variability. A two-dimensional matrix representing the possible tag may include different bit values at different positions. A variability metric of the matrix is performed to check the variability between adjacent elements of the matrix. This variability metric of the matrix is then compared against a variability threshold value. If the variability metric of the matrix falls below the threshold value, the matrix is flagged as unusable. If the variability metric of the matrix exceeds the threshold value, the matrix can be used to generate a tag with sufficient variability. Once generated, the tag can be presented and affixed to an item or object to help identify and locate the item within the facility.

Abstract: Systems/techniques that can facilitate video/animated QR codes are provided. In various aspects, a processor can identify a QR code. In various instances, the processor can decompose the QR code into a static fragment and a plurality of dynamic fragments. The static fragment can be a portion of the QR code that contains sufficient information to facilitate an online transaction, whereas the plurality of dynamic fragments can be a plurality of portions of the QR code that collectively contain sufficient information to facilitate an offline transaction. In various instances, the processor can sequentially render a plurality of frames on an electronic display, where each frame depicts the static fragment and a corresponding one of the plurality of dynamic fragments. Accordingly, a point-of-sale device can facilitate an online transaction by scanning one frame rendered by the processor, and/or can facilitate an offline transaction by scanning all frames rendered by the processor.
