Thermostatic Patents (Class 236/40)
  • Patent number: 8983283
Abstract: A control system for an electric water heater having an upper heating element and a lower heating element is disclosed. The control system includes a control module that controls operation of the electric water heater by selectively toggling the upper and lower heating elements between an ON state and an OFF state and a consumer interface module that allows a consumer to input a set point temperature and select an energy savings mode for the electric water heater. The control module regularly monitors hot water usage and adjusts the set point temperature by a predetermined setback amount until a capacity of the water heater matches consumer usage.

  • Patent number: 8121734
Abstract: The invention provides a method for controlling the climate of an environment, e.g. a house, which exchanges thermal energy with an ambient space. Energy is supplied to the environment e.g. by radiators, floor heating, electrical heating fans etc. According to the method, a numerically expressed comfort criteria, and a numerically expressed weight of importance of compliance with the comfort criterion are defined. Subsequently, a supply of a specific amount of energy is considered, and with respect to that amount, a numerical expression of a degree of compliance with the comfort criterion, and a numerical expression of costs related to the supply of that amount of energy are provided.

  • Patent number: 5007582
Abstract: A device for heating with reduced pressure steam directly or indirectly a material or product to be heat-treated, which includes a heat exchanger chamber which is supplied with steam through a pressure reducing valve and evacuated by an ejector device which can control the heating temperature of the heat exchanger chamber by controlling the operation fluid of the ejector device. The device can be used safely and advantageously in chemical and food industries.
