  • Publication number: 20100065658
Abstract: A high pressure rotary nozzle having a rotating shaft operating within a fixed housing wherein the of axial force which acts upon the shaft due to the liquid pressure at the shaft inlet is balanced by allowing passage of a small amount of the pressurized liquid to be bled to an area or chamber between the outside of the opposite end of the shaft and the inside of the housing where the liquid pressure can act axially in an opposing direction upon the shaft to balance the axial inlet force. The balance of axial forces is self-regulating by controlling escape of the liquid through a tapered or frusto-conical region between the shaft and housing. This further provides a liquid bearing between the two surfaces and allows use of interchangeable rotating jet heads having jet orifices which can be oriented in virtually any desirable configuration including axially forward of the nozzle.

Abstract: An ice distribution device for delivering ice to an ice retaining unit is provided, whereby a nozzle of the distribution device is adapted to be rotated in an eccentric rotation when installed at an upper end of an ice retaining unit, such that, when it is rotated about its axis, forces acting inside an eccentrically mounted nozzle will produce both axial and lateral components, with the lateral components of force providing a controlled “wobble”, that will deliver a substantially uniform distribution of ice within the retaining unit. A sensing device, which may be ultrasonic, mechanical or some other means, may be used to sense the level of build-up of ice within a retaining unit, for discontinuing the flow of ice to the distribution device, or diverting it to another ice retaining unit, as may be desired. The distribution and sensing devices are mounted on a top wall of the ice retaining unit and are adapted to accommodate top walls of such units of various thicknesses.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved water flow switching mechanism of a gear-type sprinkler, which addresses problems of typical gear-type sprinklers, such as invalid water switching and poor stability. The gear-type sprinkler includes a water inlet portion, a water outlet portion and accommodating space. A convex framework is additionally placed onto the accommodating space opposite the separate water outlets. Two lateral grooves are defined in the convex framework, each corresponding to a water outlet. So the pivotal portion of the rotary switching seat is assembled centrally into the convex framework. The rotary switching seat is provided with two opposite extension flanges. The extension flange may block the lateral groove of the convex framework in line with the swinging direction of the rotary switching seat. The rotor body has a flow-through channel and a spherical bearing part in a step bearing surrounding an exit opening of the casing. An end part closes the casing and has several selectively closable passages arranged therein which open from an inlet side into the interior of the casing or into flow channels in the casing leading to additional outlets. The end part widens in steps from the interior to the inlet side, and is inserted into a stepped receiving opening. A seal is provided between the end part and the inner wall of the receiving opening. An outlet for a passage of the end part is arranged in the area of at least one step and a flow channel begins in the casing in the area of this step.

  • Patent number: 6698669
Abstract: A pivot flow joint for high-pressure fluid-flow devices of the type including a rotating flow member connected to a non-rotating flow member. The pivot flow joint includes first and second axially-aligned seal bushings secured to the non-rotating and rotating flow members, respectively, the first and second seal bushings having opposed adjoining contact surfaces. The seal bushings are biased toward one another for sealing engagement at such contact surfaces. Certain preferred embodiments involve spring-biasing the seal bushings toward one another and/or use of the high-pressure fluid to exert axial pressure for that purpose. The two seal bushings, which are preferably ceramic and of identical size and shape, carry out the sealing function of the pivot flow joint in the transition between the non-rotating and the rotating members of such joint.

Abstract: A high-pressure rotary nozzle includes a magnetic coupling for the purposes of driving a rotor body within the nozzle housing. The nozzle housing defines an internal chamber, and a propulsion ring is retained within the housing such that a liquid introduced into the propulsion ring causes the propulsion ring to rotate and passes into the chamber. The rotor body is pivotally supported within the chamber and is operably coupled to the propulsion ring such that the rotor body moves along with the propulsion ring. The rotor body rotates about the housing, such that the liquid exits the chamber in a rotating jet.

Abstract: A water spray system for dishwasher with an upper dish rack and a lower dish rack, with each said dish rack being mounted for selective movement forwardly out the open front. A spray tube is rotatably mounted on the bottom of each lateral side portion of each said dish rack and has a plurality of spray outlets spaced along the tube and directed generally tangentially in the same direction for causing rotation of the tube. A water supply manifold extends up the rear wall of the dishwasher. A releasable water connection device and conduits mounted on each dish rack connect the manifold to the spray tubes for supplying the water from a pump. Spray spinners are centrally mounted below each dish rack. The spray tubes provide a thorough spray at the lateral sides that the spinners may not reach in a very wide dishwasher. Other rotating spray tube arrangements are also disclosed.
