Abstract: An electric fan with a mist-spraying device includes: a base, a support mounted on the base; a head assembly mounted on top of the support, the head assembly including a motor, fan blades driven by the motor, and a mantle housing the fan blades; a control device controlling the fan and the mist-spraying; an atomizing device disposed on the base; and a mist-spraying pipe disposed adjacent to the fan blades and connected to the atomizing device via an atomizing passage. The mist-spraying pipe is disposed at a front side of the fan blades. The mist-spraying pipe is formed with a plurality of apertures which are through holes and face the fan blades.

Abstract: A set of nozzle inserts is provided for use with an irrigation sprinkler system. The nozzle set includes a plurality of nozzle inserts that are removably connected to one another via a common carrier. The nozzle set is adapted for storage, transportation and handling in a nested arrangement with another nozzle set, which, in turn, is similarly adapted for storage, transportation and handling in a nested arrangement with other nozzle sets. This nested arrangement facilitates storage, transportation and handling of a relatively large number of nozzle inserts in a manner that protects each insert from unintentional removal from its set.

The solution's components are readily available and have been used to treat humans for other ailments previously, leading to an easily implemented, scalable, safe, and cost-effective solution. The core components of the solution include: specially denatured alcohol (SDA); Triton x-100; sodium saccharin; 1,8 cineole (eucalyptol); thymol; methyl salicylate; menthol; sorbitol and/or glycerin; sodium benzoate; poloxamer 407; polysorbate 80; and distilled water. Optionally, the solution also includes one or more of the following: citric acid; sambucus nigra agglutinin; a lectin that binds 2,3 sialic acid; nonoxynol-9; sialyllactose; a protease; a protease inhibitor; and/or chloroquine. The solution is applied to the nasal cavity via a pre-moistened cotton swab or a pre-moistened facial tissue and the solution is applied to the back of the throat via a spray, gum, or gargle solution.

Abstract: The invention provides a street treatment system for bio-remediation and breakdown of oils and/or toxic compounds, as well as treatment of organic pests such as weeds, bugs and other naturally occurring organic material that are resident on man-made surfaces such as pavement, curb lines or other such surfaces. The invention uses a street sweeper that uses a mounted sprayer, tubing, a pump, a tank and controls located in the cab of the street sweeper to operate the apparatus. The tank holds the bio-remediation fluid or pesticide/weed killer that is then applied to the pavement, curb line, etc.

Abstract: A method and system for a ceiling fan with an integral water mister apparatus, particularly for outdoor use, includes a conventional ceiling fan having a multi-speed motor, forward and reverse directional capabilities and a plurality of rotating blades in a variety of diameter sizes. A series of water dispensing ports are directly above the blades toward the outer perimeter that selectably dispense a fine water mist. The mist is obtained by connecting ?? tubing to an available standard water supply and having said tubing conduct the water through a six by two inch, five micron, polyphosphate filter. The filtered water then travels through the tubing attached to the apparatus to the misting dispensing nozzles. The fine mist will evaporate quickly in hot weather producing a cooling effect without significantly wetting surrounding objects. The air circulation provided by the fan blades enhances the distribution of the mist and the cooling effect.

Abstract: A fire fighting monitor includes a stationary element and a rotating element for directing a water stream at variable trajectories. Electrical components, such as drive motors, are mounted on the rotating element and are connected to electrical sources remote from the monitor. A wire management system is provided for the monitor that protects the electrical wiring while accommodating relative rotation between the stationary and rotating elements of the monitor. In one embodiment, the wire management system includes a two-piece wiring skirt with a first portion connected to the stationary element and a second portion connected to the rotating element. The two portions define a circumferential channel and associated openings for passage of a wiring cable. The cable incorporates a 180° bend within the channel that travels around the channel as the cable coils and un-coils within the channels of the two portions.

Abstract: The invention employs a blower of the type used by commercial landscapers. The device has an engine mounted on a frame. Shoulder straps attached to the frame allow the user to wear the device on his back leaving the hands of the operator free to operate other tools such as a chain saw or perform other tasks. Also, wearing the device on the back makes it easier to transport the device over long distances to the source of the fire or backfire to be started. The device's blower generates a stream of air at high speeds. This stream of air can be used to feed a fire when the air is directed at a fire. When used to extinguish a fire, air from the blower is tapped from a point 180 degrees removed from the blower output and mixed with exhaust from the engine. This mixture is diverted through a Y-shaped valve into the airstream coming out of the blower. When the device is used to start backfires a fire is started.
