  • Patent number: 11549522
Abstract: An ejector includes a nozzle, a needle and a body. The nozzle reduces a pressure of a fluid and discharges the fluid as an injected fluid from a fluid injection port. The body includes a fluid suction port and a pressure increasing portion. The fluid suction port draws, as a suction fluid, a fluid from an outside of the body by using a suction force generated by the injected fluid. The pressure increasing portion increases a pressure of a mixture of the injected fluid and the suction fluid. The nozzle includes a throat portion and a nozzle-side tapered portion. The throat portion reduces a passage cross-sectional area of the fluid passage to be smallest in the fluid passage at the throat portion. The nozzle-side tapered portion expands the passage cross-sectional area of the fluid passage toward the downstream side in the flow direction of the fluid.

  • Patent number: 8469295
Abstract: An explosive and narcotics detection system detects the presence of trace particles of those materials that are adhering to surfaces. In order to detect such particles, it is necessary to first dislodge or release them from the surface, next to transport them to the detection instrument, and last to accumulate them on or in a particle collection device associated with the instrument. Narcotics and explosive particles are often bound tenaciously to the surface, and simple techniques, such as blowing air, will either remove only the largest particles or none at all. A nozzle to release particles of narcotics and explosives employs a coaxial configuration that permits particle release at an increased distance from the nozzle compared to existing devices.

Preferably, at least the gas inlet (12) for feeding air into the mixing chamber is designed so that depositing of urea crystals on selected surfaces of the said inlet is substantially (typically in the sense that deposited crystals does not clog the inlet) or totally avoided.

Abstract: The injector includes a nozzle, a needle, a control chamber, a working fluid supply passage, an electric switching valve, a high-pressure gaseous fuel supply passage and a lubrication liquid fuel supply passage. The nozzle has an injection hole, through which high-pressure gaseous fuel is injected. The needle is axially reciprocably received in the nozzle to open and close the injection hole. The needle includes a sliding portion and a valve portion. The control chamber applies a pressure to the needle. The working fluid supply passage supplies liquid fuel to the control chamber. The electric switching valve controls an inflow/outflow of the liquid fuel to/from the control chamber. The high-pressure gaseous fuel supply passage supplies the high-pressure gaseous fuel to the injection hole. The lubrication liquid fuel supply passage supplies the liquid fuel from the working fluid supply passage to the sliding portion and the valve portion.

The turbulent flow mechanism, preferably a cylindrical pin, induces turbulent flow to the fluid stream flowing through the passage. The flow separating mechanism, also preferably a cylindrical pin, separates the turbulent flow into two separate, diverging streams. The converging mechanism is configured to direct the two streams together such that the colliding thereof produces a spray made up of substantially uniform sized droplets. Preferably, the converging mechanism is an orifice plate having two outwardly extending deflecting members and a generally oval-shaped opening and the nozzle body is adapted to threadably connect to a hose or other conduit.

Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus and process for solid-state deposition and consolidation of powder particles entrained in a subsonic or sonic gas jet onto the surface of an object. Under high velocity impact and thermal plastic deformation, the powder particles adhesively bond to the substrate and cohesively bond together to form consolidated materials with metallurgical bonds. The powder particles and optionally the surface of the object are heated to a temperature that reduces yield strength and permits plastic deformation at low flow stress levels during high velocity impact, but which is not so high as to melt the powder particles.
