Patent number: 8011602Abstract: Many areas watered by prior art oscillating sprinklers are substantially rectangular. However, prior art oscillating sprinklers typically produce generally or substantially elliptical water distribution patterns. This geometric incompatibility causes problems and inefficiencies. Embodiments of the current invention include an oscillating sprinkler that automatically produces a substantially rectangular water distribution pattern. The substantially rectangular water distribution pattern may be produced by automatically controlling the distance from the sprinkler that streams of water travel before impacting the ground. This is accomplished by automatically and sequentially opening and closing and/or restricting flow to select nozzles at select points and within select portions of the oscillation cycle. A current invention oscillating sprinkler may reduce waste water, may reduce run-off waste water, and may automatically provide water to the corner areas of typical substantially rectangular areas to be watered.Type: GrantFiled: August 15, 2008Date of Patent: September 6, 2011Inventor: Eldon Coppersmith

The cleaning brush assembly includes an axially extending rod and a plurality of brush elements each mounted on the rod by means of a self-aligning member that has an arcuate shape corresponding to the outer circumference of the rod for orienting a row of brush bristles of the brush element in predetermined relation to the elongated axis of the rod. The illustrated brush rod assembly includes a plurality of brush rod segments each having a self-aligning coupling at an axial end thereof such that joining of adjacent rod segments automatically orients the brush elements in predetermined angular offset relation to each other.Type: GrantFiled: February 7, 2006Date of Patent: August 2, 2011Assignee: Spraying Systems Co.Inventors: David C. Patent number: 7886989Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing liquid material includes a dispensing module having a liquid supply passage communicating with a supply of liquid material and an air supply passage communicating with a source of pressurized air. A nozzle is coupled to the dispensing module and has a liquid discharge passage and an air discharge passage communicating with the liquid supply passage and the air supply passage, respectively. The liquid material is dispensed from a liquid discharge outlet of the nozzle and pressurized air is directed from an air outlet of the nozzle toward the dispensed liquid material. An air valve coupled to the nozzle is operable to vary the pressure of the air discharged from the air outlet to thereby move the liquid material in a desired pattern. In an exemplary embodiment, the valve is operable to pulse the pressurized air.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2003Date of Patent: February 15, 2011Assignee: Nordson CorporationInventors: Laurence B. Patent number: 7877983Abstract: An arrangement for supplying a medium to an exhaust line of a combustion engine. The arrangement comprises a first exhaust passage defined by at least a first wall surface of an element, and a dosing device supplying the medium to the first exhaust passage. The arrangement is adapted to maintaining a degree of heating of the first wall surface so that the latter will be at a higher temperature than the medium's vaporization point when the liquid medium is supplied in the first exhaust passage. Therefore, even the medium which reaches the first wall surface will vaporize in the first exhaust passage.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2005Date of Patent: February 1, 2011Assignee: Scania CV ABInventors: Christian Künkel, Björn Westerberg, Anders Häggkvist
