Abstract: A microfluidic device including a microfluidic chip assembled to an electrospray structure. The microfluidic chip includes at least one microfluidic channel leading through an outlet aperture to a surface area of the microfluidic chip. The electrospray structure includes at least one thin, planar point provided with a capillary slot that terminates at the end of the point so as to form an aperture for ejection of a liquid to be sprayed. The electrospray structure is arranged on the surface area of the microfluidic chip so that the point is cantilivered with respect to the microfluidic chip and so that the outlet aperture of the microfluidic device leads to the capillary slot of the point, which microfluidic device also has a mechanism to apply an electrospray voltage to the liquid to be sprayed.

Abstract: A fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines has a valve housing composed of a first housing part and a second housing part which are connected to one another in a connecting region. In order to improve the strength of the connection in relation to the pressure of the fuel which prevails in an inner space, the housing wall of the first housing part is supported in the connecting region on the housing wall of the second housing part, and the housing wall of the second housing part is of reinforced design in the connecting region.
Abstract: A nozzle and bracket assembly having a minimal number of parts and particularly useful for mounting on a planter row unit includes a slotted bracket connected by a single bolt to the unit frame. A molded plastic nozzle body includes mounting tabs received by the bracket slots. The body snap fits into the bracket slots and is guided into position past locking offsets by the slots. A nozzle cap threaded onto the body constrains the body against upward movement in the slots and transfers harmful impact forces away from the nozzle body.

Abstract: A shower head structure includes a front cover disc, a water outlet disc, a joint base, a water stopper body and a water stopper. The shower head body is installed to the joint base, and the water stopper body is connected to the water outlet disc, and the water stopper is installed into the hollow hole of the water stopper body. When water flows into the shower head body, the water pressure pushes the water stopper and the water gasket to block the hollow hole and stop water coming out from outlet disc, but the water will come out from the periphery of the water stopper body instead. If an accessory is installed, the water stopper is pushed to interconnect a passage, so that the water will be supplied to the accessory from the middle of the front cover disc to produce a variety of splashes.
Abstract: A nozzle system for a fluidized bed including a pipe for insertion through an air distributor plate in the fluidized bed and extending up through a refractory material on the air distributor plate. A shaft is received in the pipe and has a washer and a collar which supports the shaft on the distal end of the pipe. Abstract: A water sprayer for a faucet includes a housing, a guide member, a valve seat, a nozzle unit, a press button and a valve shaft. Thus, the first nozzle and the second nozzle of the nozzle unit provides two different water output manners so that the water flow is injected outward from the nozzle unit in two different manners according to a user's requirement, thereby facilitating the user operating the water sprayer. In addition, the water flow can be injected outward from the nozzle unit in a stronger or weaker manner and with a larger or smaller area, thereby enhancing the working efficiency and saving the water resource.

Abstract: A stacked structure is formed such that a plurality of thin plates, which include at least one liquid flow passage thin plate provided with a liquid flow passage having a predetermined pattern formed on at least one surface, are stacked with an adhesive. A release groove for releasing the adhesive is formed on the liquid flow passage thin plate. An air release hole, which is communicated with the release groove and which penetrates in the stacking direction, is bored through a thin plate stack stacked on the liquid flow passage thin plate. An opening, which allows the air release hole to be open to the outside, is formed on the thin plate disposed at the outermost layer of the thin plate stack. Abstract: An engine and high pressure pump are mounted onto a wheeled chassis. High pressure water is distributed to a rotating wand and nozzle assembly on the wheeled chassis so that as the chassis is moved along a linear path, high pressure water is sprayed onto an underlying surface to clean the surface. Optional diffusion plates may be used to prevent high pressure water from being sprayed directly onto the underlying surface in part of the rotational path defined by the wand and nozzle assembly.

Abstract: A system for retaining and locating a jewel of the type comprising a nozzle for a water cutting system includes a first support structure component having a water discharge passageway extending therethrough and having an exterior locating surface formed at the water receiving end of the water directing passageway. A second support structure component has a water directing passageway formed therein and has a jewel receiving cavity formed therein at the discharge end of the water receiving passageway. Abstract: A carbon dioxide snow apparatus of the present invention includes a carbon dioxide snow generation system and a propellant generation system connected to a common carbon dioxide gas source. The carbon dioxide snow generation system includes a condenser having a at least two connected segments, wherein a first segment has a lesser diameter than the a second segment to provide a stepped expansion cavity for cooling and condensing liquid carbon dioxide into solid carbon dioxide snow. Several snow generation systems, each separately controllable with separate condensers, may be integrated with the propellant generation system and common carbon dioxide source to provide for a multiplicity of carbon dioxide snow applicators for integration into both manual and automated machining processes.

Prior to convergence, the converging water streams may generally retain a recognizable shape determined by the type of nozzle. Upon convergence, at least portions of the converging water streams may substantially disperse into multiple individual water droplets. The nozzles, or a face plate or other components joining the nozzles to a showerhead, may be selectively movable to selectively move the region or regions of convergence closer to or further away from the showerhead, or to convert the nozzles from delivering converging streams to delivering non-converging streams or vice versa. Some showerheads may further include other nozzles for delivering water from the showerhead in other modes, such a high pressure mode, a pulsating mode, a mist mode, and so on.
Abstract: The invention relates to a nozzle system for a delivery device for liquids, wherein the nozzle system comprises a nozzle and a device which fixes the nozzle in the delivery device. The delivery device, an atomiser, has a liquid reservoir from which a liquid is forced through the nozzle under pressure. The nozzle fixing means may itself be secured by a second fixing, e.g., in the form of a check nut, or the fixing may itself be a check nut. According to the invention the fixing means on the nozzle outlet side has a specific geometry which minimizes the proportion of dispensed liquid deposited on the fixing means. Preferably, the present invention is part of a propellant-free device for nebulizing pharmaceutical liquids.

Abstract: A filter for use with overhead sprinkler irrigation systems is disclosed. The filter includes a hollow cylindrical body, a removable screen, and a manually-actuated plunger adjacent the screen. The plunger is positioned for reciprocal movement through a debris outlet between an open, debris-discharging position, and a closed filtering position. The plunger defaults to the closed filtering position by pressurized water flowing through the body. The water is simultaneously filtered through the screen and passes out a clean water outlet while debris accumulates within the body. The plunger may be manually retracted to the open, debris-discharging position at any time, whereby accumulated debris is flushed out of the body through the debris outlet by residual water flowing therethrough.

Abstract: A spraying device for atomizing a liquid is proposed. The spraying device includes a nozzle plate and an actuator. The nozzle plate is provided with a plurality of nozzle apertures. Each of the nozzle apertures includes an entry end for the liquid to enter and an exit end for the liquid to exit. The entry end and the exit end of at least one of the nozzle apertures are asymmetrical structures. The actuator is integrated with the nozzle plate to actuate atomization of the liquid. The spraying direction of a liquid droplet after the liquid is atomized can be controlled by modifying the shape of the exit end of the nozzle aperture.

Abstract: The invention concerns an insulating nozzle for a gas blast circuit breaker. In accordance with the invention, the material constituting the nozzle comprises (A) 90% to 99.9% by weight of a fluorinated polymer, and (B) 0.1% to 10% by weight of a filler based on at least one oxide selected from (B1) SiO2 and other oxidized forms of metals from column IVA of the periodic table, and (B2) ZnO, CdO and other oxidized forms of metals from column IIB of the periodic table.
Abstract: A fluid dispense tip includes a bevel at an opening to reduce the amount of surface tension, or “land”, at the opening. The bevel is formed by grinding in a longitudinal direction such that any tooling scars resulting from the grinding operation are likewise longitudinally oriented, further reducing the amount of surface tension in the tip, thereby leading to heightened dispensing accuracy. The tip may be machined from stock as a unitary piece, to increase its lifetime, and may be formed with a bore of a relatively large diameter that is tapered down to a smaller diameter near the tip opening, to allow for delivery of fluid through the tip body at a decreased pressure. A cleaning tool may be provided for removing residual material from the inner surfaces of the tip. A removable liner sleeve may be provided within the bore to reduce the effective inner diameter of the dispense tip.
Abstract: A velocity-profile modifying device is located between a heat component and an air pouring apparatus. The air pouring apparatus pours the air into the heat component via an air moving track. The velocity-profile modifying device is set at the air moving track and is used for modifying a first velocity-profile of airflow by the air pouring apparatus to a second velocity-profile and further for making the air distribute evenly toward the heat component. By providing the velocity profile modifying device, a better distribution of the airflow toward the heat component and a stable temperature status of the heat component can be achieved.
Abstract: A nozzle system is provided comprising a nozzle tip supported in a nozzle body with an alignment member. The alignment member has a connection for engaging a corresponding connection located on the nozzle body. The alignment member also has an aperture concentric with the sleeve that has a tapered engagement surface for contacting a tapered engagement surface on the nozzle tip. A first melt channel is defined through the nozzle body and a second melt channel is defined through the nozzle tip. The melt channel in the nozzle tip has a first section that extends along a first axis from an inlet, a second section that extends from the first section at an incline and a third section that extends from the second section parallel to and eccentric with the first axis. The resulting melt channel defines a straight through channel parallel to said first axis from said inlet to said opening.

Abstract: An atomizer includes a T-shaped chamber with tapered insides and an outlet which is in communication with the chamber. A first path is located in a center area in the chamber so as to introduce molten metal therein and two second paths are introduced into the chamber so as to send inert gas into the chamber. A separator is located in the chamber and located at an outlet end of the first path. A narrow passage is defined between an inside of the outlet and the separator. The impact of the inert gas and the molten metal atomizes the metal.
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus and process for solid-state deposition and consolidation of powder particles entrained in a subsonic or sonic gas jet onto the surface of an object. Under high velocity impact and thermal plastic deformation, the powder particles adhesively bond to the substrate and cohesively bond together to form consolidated materials with metallurgical bonds. The powder particles and optionally the surface of the object are heated to a temperature that reduces yield strength and permits plastic deformation at low flow stress levels during high velocity impact, but which is not so high as to melt the powder particles.

A fluid nozzle plate member provided by the invention has high sealing at a joined part, and high reliability even when used in high vacuum or at a high temperature. In this case, the plurality of plate-like metal members are laminated, and the laminated surfaces thereof are joined together by press forging.
Abstract: The invention relates to an improved mixing arrangement for, primarily, moving bitumen in steam from sources of such bitumen and steam to a reactor or coker for further processing of the bitumen into petroleum products. The invention provides a main conduit connected to an atomizing nozzle mounted in a wall of the reactor and first and second conduits for flowing bitumen and steam respectively into the main conduit. The first conduit is angled relative to the main conduit at an acute angle of about 45° and the second conduit is angled relative to the main conduit at an acute angle of about 30°. The second conduit is positioned upstream of the first conduit by a short distance of about 23 mm and may be angled radially relative to the first conduit by any angle, although a 90° angle is preferred.

Abstract: A washer nozzle includes a spread jet opening for basically jetting washer fluid in a predetermined direction of a vehicle; and a jet opening for accessorily and intensively jetting part of the washer fluid as a directional jet flow which is different from the spread flow basically jetted from the spread jet opening. The washer fluid is jetted and sprayed over a large area in a fan-shaped spread flow from the spread jet opening. Further, the washer fluid is intensively sprayed as the directional jet flow from the jet opening. Thus, sweeping performance of the washer nozzle and a washer apparatus is improved such that the directional jet flow is not substantially affected by airflow during high-speed driving so that the washer fluid is effectively utilized so as to be sprayed and supplied to areas that are prone to be left unwashed.
Abstract: Tubular needles have a reduced inner diameter tip portion that increases back pressure behind the tip portion. This constricted tip portion promotes improved atomization, particularly when the liquid passes through the needle at near-supercritical conditions. A preferred method for constricting the inner diameter of a needle tip is to dip the dip of the needle in an electroless plating solution, such as an electroless nickel solution.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a nozzle capable of producing a high impact waterjet when supplied with a source of ulta-high pressure liquid. The nozzle is constructed and arranged to infuse fluid into a high velocity stream of liquid passing through the nozzle to create a bubble rich waterjet. When the waterjet strikes against a surface the bubbles implode, amplifying the impact of the water against the surface.
Abstract: The sprinkler includes the following structural members: a body (1) with a channel for liquid supply, a thermally responsive unit with a valve (4) closing the sprinkler outlet, and a thermally responsive unit attachment. In the first alternative embodiment a sprinkler channel is formed by a segment (10) of a cylindrical configuration connected with a segment (11) made as a conical diffuser. To generate a fine uniform gas-and-drop stream of a high kinetic energy and space-uniform distribution the cylindrical segment (10) length exceeds the channel diameter at this segment. In the second alternative embodiment the sprinkler has two coaxial liquid supply channels. The length of the axial cylindrical channel exceeds its diameter. The second annular channel is coaxial to the first channel and fitted with helical guide components.

It is found that effective ejector performance is achieved when the ejector geometry is adjusted such that it comprises a funnel whose interior surface diverges about 7° to about 9° away from the funnel central axis, wherein the funnel inlet diameter is about 2 to about 3 times the diameter of the injected fuel plume as the fuel plume reaches the ejector inlet, and wherein the funnel length equal to about 1 to about 4 times the ejector inlet diameter. Moreover, the ejector is most effectively disposed at a separation distance away from the fuel jet equal to about 1 to about 2 time the ejector inlet diameter.
Abstract: A nozzle and the method for manufacturing thereof are disclosed. The manufacturing method includes the following steps: 1. forming a base with a closure and a supporting frame with two corresponding shafts on the top thereof via extruded hard plastic; 2. inserting a central mold into the supporting frame such that the shafts on the top of the supporting frame may be slightly outward; 3. secondly applying extruded plastic on the top of the supporting frame to form a mouthpiece; and 4. thirdly applying extruded plastic on the bottom of the supporting frame to accomplish a nozzle with excellent touch feeling and firm structure. By way of the above steps, the nozzle according to the present invention presents a soft touch feeling and would not easily fall off of the conduit of the water bag due to the sucking of the user.
Abstract: The spraying device comprises: a tubular body which defines a chamber connected to a supply of water under pressure, a nozzle (1) with atomizer and a constriction organ in the form of a valve (6) in order to form a thin-walled hollow jet. The orifice (7) of the nozzle comprises a surface shaping the jet which is arranged to produce at the level of this latter an asymmetry of rotation. The spraying device preferably comprises two nozzles centered in the same plane and forming between them an angle which is of the order of 80°. The valves of these two nozzles are controlled simultaneously by appropriate elements.

Abstract: A fluid dispense tip includes a bevel at an opening to reduce the amount of surface tension, or “land”, at the opening. The bevel is formed by grinding in a longitudinal direction such that any tooling scars resulting from the grinding operation are likewise longitudinally oriented, further reducing the amount of surface tension in the tip, thereby leading to heightened dispensing accuracy. The tip may be machined from stock as a unitary piece, to increase its lifetime, and may be formed with a bore of a relatively large diameter that is tapered down to a smaller diameter near the tip opening, to allow for delivery of fluid through the tip body at a decreased pressure. The tip may optionally be formed with a Luer™-style fitting on the body, such that the tip is compatible with pumps that utilize such a fitting.
